Fix Up! Look Sharp v9: Winged shoes don't make you look fly
ur statement seems like something you would genuinely think though. not a very good joke
Well you obviously don't know how i think then good sir
I'd just go with a pair of chinos, a button down oxford shirt, brown belt and some smart-ish shoes like desert boots or similar for a job interview.
I just wear a suit minus the blazer for interviews. I'm thinking of trying jeans+(desert?)boots+shirt+blazer next time though cause I feel a lot more comfortable dressed like that.
Notlabbet, just don't turn up like you usually dress and you'll get the job no problem
should the shirt be tucked in
It hasn't been in mainstream fashion for a hundred years at all
Yes it has. It has been a standard style for men, that has gone in and out of vogue since the teens but always stayed relevant. If you think it's mainly a product of only the last five years then you are looking at it with a very narrow view. I'm not saying I do not see a lot of plaid, but I definitely do not see people wearing vintage plaid clothing, and nine times out of ten when i see someone wearing plaid it's a aesthetically boring pattern.
should the shirt be tucked in
you should pretty much always tuck in your shirt for formal stuff
I went with desert boots, black cords w/ leather belt, light blue dress shirt, green and black skinny tie, and my old man jacket (you know the one)
The jacket really make it, I look like a pro tour guide.
Never heard of that, and as far as I know light blue is a colour that's always recommended to match with earthy greens
[editline]26th November 2013[/editline]
tbh a lot of these fashion sayings are bullshit, just use your own eyes and a colour wheel for reference if you have too
[editline]26th November 2013[/editline]
If there's one colour combo you should never try though, it's pink and brown. Ech.
I'm colour blind so I'm really paranoid about bad colours
you should pretty much always tuck in your shirt for formal stuff
i have a problem where my torso is incredibly short in comparison to my legs. anything tucked in looks completely ridiculous.

that old man jacket was a really intensely bad choice.
Ok, so question. I'm thinking of letting my hair grown out and putting it in a bun, do i have to trim it some way to do this?

Something like this

E: I go to art school so I'm allowed to do this. Also I'm bored of shorter hair and having it longer is too hard to maintain normally.
i like the hair in both the top and bottom pictures, how long does it take to grow your hair out long enough for the bottom style though? every time i try growing mine i get pissed off once it gets messy and get a undercut

for the record ryan inspired the denim trucker jacket and shoes. western shirts are all me :)
That pattern isn't typical camo it would look fine as an accent

"Hah! nobody will expect a male fashion icon like myself to wear such a horrible pattern! I'll never be recognized in this! [laughter]"
Are you guys as good with hairstyles as you are with clothes.
So I ordered a peacoat from J. Crew a few days ago, package came in early today (fuck yeah)
was pretty excited, opened the box as soon as I got my hands on it

Oh well, they're doing a 30% off promo, I'm gonna see if I can return it all for refund and then reorder.
I thought you'd ordered a bunch of different condoms for a second :v:
What are you guys opinions on Seattle Cruiser jackets?

Are there slim fit variants of this type of jacket?
The Filson cruiser jacket in the Seattle fit is the slim fit variant. Alaska fit is their traditional bigger fit. Filson Cruiser jackets never look trim really and are kind of ponchy looking when worn because of the four pockets. They are also long jackets.
[img_thumb]http://g.nordstromimage.com/imagegallery/store/product/Large/5/_8290265.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'm ordering the short lined waxed cruiser over the next week, in tan and plaid. Basically their version of a trucker jacket.
[img_thumb]http://www.filson.com/filson-life/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Lined-Short-Cruiser-Soy-Wax.jpg[/img_thumb]
So is the one you showed the Alaska fit or is it the same one? You should post some pictures of the trucker jacket when it arrives, would really like to see how it looks.

It should be the Seattle fit if Google image is to be trusted. Their idea of slim fit is basically properly fitting, not slim in a conventional sense. The Alaska fit is their traditional century old fit designed to be useful, not generally attractive. With large arm openings for many layers and lots of mobility for working in them.
