you've reached unprecedented new ground of anal retentiveness
Minutiae is very important when it comes to clothing. It can be the difference between a terrible outfit and a good one.
Or a good one and a pretty good one or a bad one and a kind of bad one...
Do they have zippers, too? I don't know, but now I'm wondering why I'm still posting here since I have discovered that there is no good discussion to be had.
so you're basically admitting that you're just arguing for the sake of arguing even though you are completely wrong
you are completely wrong
elaborate
all the fedora kids in my school wear huge baggy jeans and it just looks awful slim fitting / skinny jeans are what look good, you can't be all that "original" with jeans without looking like shit
they look awful because they don't know what they're doing. if you know what you're doing you can easily wear loose jeans.
are you waiting for someone outside of the like seven people that are arguing with you to agree with you about baggy jeans or something [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] also didn't i see you call someone a cunt a page or two back just for having the popular opinion that baggy jeans are awful you're a mean mean canadian
on a different note, I recently got a couple of fairly nice 100% Wool work coats, one navy and the other a fairly dark brown. Honestly, I got them about third hand from a relative, they don't fit me well at all and they're both around 30/40 years. I was wondering that, since they've gone through a couple decades of fairly heavy use with almost no signs of age (the stitching isn't coming undone anywhere, but one of the buttons in visibly cracked on the surface, but I do have a replacement button), would it be worth my time/money to get them tailored to fit me? [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] the navy one is the knee-length sort of coat, while the brown one is higher cut.
I don't know, but now I'm wondering why I'm still posting here since I have discovered that there is no good discussion to be had.
"oh no people disagree with me, FUCK THIS THREAD AND FUCK YOU ALL" rating everyone dumb isn't doing you any favours either not everyone has the same opinions, deal with it
Take a shot for every time Sav says open-minded or "close-minded" whatever the fuck that means [editline]12th January 2014[/editline]
Because they aren't hideous. The reason I look good is because I try to keep my mind open in regards to fashion, otherwise I never would have learned anything. There is nothing wrong with the jeans I posted, they just aren't "trendy" in the mainstream right now. Many people enjoy the aesthetic, it's all about understanding it and putting yourself in the mythos of that particular style of clothing. In the case of loose jeans, they look very utilitarian and they remind people of a different era- 1940's, manual laborers, miners and artisans. (It's worth noting that current fashion trends are largely based on 1960's styles.) The sooner you're able to open your mind and try and appreciate alternative styles, the sooner you'll look better. You will have more control over your outfits, a better understanding of what you actually like, and you will be able to make purchases that are less influenced by current trends than they otherwise would have been. You'll also just enjoy more instead of being a hateful bastard.
Bruv you're such a joke Like, choose to do either the pretentious high-ground argument or the dumb name-calling that just leaves your credibilty in tatters Each of those approaches indicate really poor social skills but combining both of them is just terrible, even if someone agrees with you they're not going to agree with you :v:
savaril only made me hate baggy jeans even more
those last few pages were a great read
I'm actually wearing pants that would be considered baggy by FULS standards, but they look NOWHERE as ugly as the disaster posted 2 pages back

511s are my favorite pants. All the jeans i've bought since I've gone to FULS! are 511s. I'd recommend it to all.
It's funny how this thread seems to spawn intolerant fashion fighters every now and then. Almost as if the thread was self-consciously trying to keep the organism (thread itself) going.
Found my girlfriend a pair of 1950's leather US combat boots at goodwill yesterday with a leather sole and not lugged. They are unissued, never worn and in her size. I got her some leather laces for them and they look really nice, she loves them. I'll have to get a picture. Cost all of $5.99 for the boots. I love thrift stores.
Well, it's been 7 hours so I'm hoping we can assume Sav has removed the pain from his anus and is either going to stop posting or get back to the topic of fashion. That being said, all of my pants are far too large for sure now. I have also started going to the gym, so there's no way in hell I'm going to keep wearing my 36 waist jeans when I have a pair of size 30 jeans that fit well enough despite being a little bit too tight. Can I assume that I'll be able to find some 511s at just about any store that sells jeans?
Probably. Hell, I just bought a pair of 511s not too long ago. Also, are there any good recommendations for boots?
That being said, all of my pants are far too large for sure now.
wish i had that problem going to america made me fat my entire wardrobe is perfect- for someone 10 pounds lighter than me
I remember when I bought my first pair of 511s when I first came into FULS! like 2 years ago now.. wow. And they still kinda fit but i need a belt and it's gotten baggier over the years :(. The fades are sick tho.
Lose weight?

go with gray or olive
I don't like baggy jeans, but I'm sure a context exists where baggy jeans looks good. Fashion is such an individual thing - both on the level of wearing clothes that enhance your best physical features, as well as personality wise - showing the parts of your personality that you want to show. What I really dislike though is the assembly line mentality. The whole "wearing what's in, everyone should wear the same and if you do something remotely different you're an outcast" mentality. I admit, I wear pretty standard (but hopefully aesthetic) outfits but the dream is that everyone does something very different that tells the story of them without words. A biography of clothes, that at the same time looks good.
I was just at Ross picking up some new sheets, and they had a surprising amount of Stussy merchandise (If you're into that kinda thing). Too bad all the chinos they had were for people with normal hips.
i like grey jeans i hate blue jeans, idk why they're just so common, EVERYONE has blue jeans
Has anybody here ever modelled? I was thinking of sending off some photos to various agencies but I wanted to hear some trustworthy opinions
