It's usually better looking, but winter static fucked it up so I wore a hat all day
It does look pretty shitty in that photo
I'll post what it usually looks like, one sec

I actually like your above hair. It looks shorter on the sides and it doesn't droop down. This one just looks like you don't know what you're doing :/
Get thick full framed glasses. Nothing too square or too round.

The latter photo was taken before a haircut, but it's a good example of how it tends to look properly combed.
I tried to avoid going for a full frame, since there are a lot of ~edgy~ kids in my town who wear that kind. Also I just kind of liked the pictured ones better, as did my eye doctor.
shit, raise those eyebrows you look too damn serious
whats wrong with full frame. Just because its what other people wear doesnt mean you shouldnt wear.
Those bottom frameless glasses always remind me of those protection glasses you use to cut wood or something.

Your glasses look like safety glasses though

I know y'all say videogame clothing is on par with a fedora, and it pretty much is.
But I feel like a nice knit sweater with the Quake logo on it wouldn't be that bad.
Especially if you're Bryan Cranston[/QUOTE]
quake is old enough for that to be retro eg fall into hipster, especially on a sweater. i'd buy a quake sweater
[editline]28th February 2014[/editline]
im not saying im a hipster. just that quake owns if i had to own a sweater it would be one with a quake logo on it (and thats about as far as i want to go with video game clothing).

really should've said "quake is for the children".
Polished and deep cleaned my watch for the first time this morning, been wearing it almost daily since last summer. Took it apart for the cleaning. I love the sapphire crystal, it doesn't have a single scratch on it even though I've knocked this thing into half a dozen door frames hard.

Speaking of watches, does anyone have any recommendations for something similar to the Patek Phillipes watch in Drive?
[t]http://cdni.condenast.co.uk/320x480/o_r/Patek-Philippe_MoreWatches_GQ_4nov10_pr_b.jpg[/t][t]https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.svpply.com/large/879483.jpg?1393545608[/t][t]http://cdni.condenast.co.uk/642x390/d_f/DriveWatch_GQ_16Sep11_p_642.jpg[/t]
I don't know much about watches, but I've always wanted a decent watch. I like the large, relatively simple face and leather band.
I've found a few replica Patek Philippe watches for around the price that I'm looking to spend, but I don't want risk buying a cheap watch that will break or wear down or turn my wrist green after wearing for a few weeks. I'm not looking to break the bank on this, so my price range is under $150, unless forking out some more cash will make the difference.
If you like the watch in drive it's far from a 'large' watch. Mostly in the mid 30's in mm, and you can't get a replica of the drive watch. Don't deal with a replica patek phillipe 21j cheap movement if you can't open and fix your own watch is my advice. Just buy a quartz watch that looks the part, also a lot replica sites are scam sites, so be weary. If you can't afford a high end watch, or know how to repair a replica mechanical watch, then stick to a Timex or Casio. If you can afford it get a Seiko. Almost all watches between say a Timex and a Tag Heuer/Seiko are garbage and a waste of money. Timex and Casio all make their own movements, everyone else until you get to high end watches just use cheap Chinese disposable movements.
My advice, from someone who loves watches. Buy a quartz timex, put a nice leather strap on it and be satisfied. If you're feeling adventurous, buy a vintage mechanical watch, and be prepared to fix it yourself or pay a watchmaker $85 to do a servicing. You're best bet is to just get a sleek timex with your budget and buy a nice strap. No one will ever notice your watch no matter what it is, or what you think, at least from my experience. Let alone something as subtle as a old fashion Patek Phillipe replica.
If you want a vintage one, just buy a quartz (battery) watch like this, throw a leather strap on it and you'd be good.

Here is my great grandfathers mehcanical Waltham watch from the 1940's that I wear every other day, it's been passed down from my great grandfather, to my grandfather, to my father and now me. I recently took it apart and serviced it and at some point I am going to polish out the scratches out of the crystal with diamond paste when I get it. It's such a nice ritual to wind it in the morning for the day. One day hopefully I'll pass it on to the next generation in the family.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely would have been lost otherwise. I'll definitely look into getting a Timex or a Casio for now.

smallest size was a 38
fml
never mind, went back, they had a 32 which is one size smaller than I'd like but it still fits okay and shows my thighs

I'm thinking about getting a nice hardshell jacket. It's been a long time since I've had a good goretex all purpose jacket. Thinking about Arc'teryx, my girlfriend just got a Mountain Hardwear jacket that's really clean and minimal and I'd like something similar.
Anyone have experience with Arc'teryx or jackets from TNF, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Westcomb or Peak Performance?
To me, the Arc-teryx Beta AR jacket looks like a nice minimal looking jacket.

Arc'teryx quality is generally excellent from what I've heard
So I was hanging out at a hookah bar with a couple of friends, and this guy walks in wearing a tenchcoat, suit w/ converse, and a fedora. Honest to god I didn't think I'd ever see something so stereotypical in my life, but I did tonight. I even got him to tip his fedora at me.
Honestly though, he had social skills and he seemed like he took care of himself to some extent, as in he was shaven and didn't look greasy. And he was actually fun to talk to, so I couldn't judge him too hard. Maybe he was just wearing everything sarcastically.

He's probably a friend of notlabbet

You can only really pull off fedoras if you're old enough to retire
or sometimes if you're a musician
I don't have a problem with people who wear fedoras, it's the stereotypical combo of poor hygiene and the fedoras that throws me, but that is across the board with any style. If the person is nice, fun to talk to and doesn't emanate body odor, cigarette smoke, overpowering cologne or some other offensive odor I could care less what they wear.
It's not the fedora on the outside, it's the fedora on the inside
i have everything against fedoras regardless of the wearers personal hygiene or grooming
where is your god now??

same clothes

(this is a dumb conversation either way)
All you had to do was check out the damn file name. No need to throw clothes at each other and compare their similarities.
