honestly the only real way of knowing is going to an optician and trying them on, and then either asking the person in the optician how they look or take pictures for friends
home trials are cool too, I got my glasses from a little place in London called Cubitts - they send you 4 pairs with clear lenses and you pick which ones you like, I settled on these http://www.cubitts.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/b/r/brunswicklight-male_1.png
holy shit of course I'm not being serious

those specs are equally bad as cowboy boots though
they'd fit together pretty swell

ur just mad u cant handle the yeehaw pardner :^)
my mom's boss (she works at a salon) just gave me some pomade. whoa this thing is really cool. it makes my hair look a lot better and it smells pretty good too. I never considered putting any product in my hair besides shampoo but it really does make a good difference
Whats the current popular style of frames for someone with an ovalish face? I'm used to only having those awful wireframe types.
I have a bit of an oval face and I have a pair really similar to these

Rayban clubmasters are always a safe option too
my rangers were a bad buy. big, clunky, uncomfortable and no sign if getting any more comfortable even after months of wear. they are just too big. slim profile boots are better.
update: Say what you will about the profile but the color is so rich and nice its ridiculous. Looked even better after I put a bit of mink oil on (the actual good shit, not the weird chinese mixed shit)

I moved to Minnesota from Texas. Winter clothing used to be jeans, henley, hoodie, light jacket... now I have no clue what to wear for winter. I don't even own scarves. What do you guys wear? I've been wearing henleys layered up with a thin hoodie, a flannel, and a light jacket with my winter coat tossed over but I feel like I look stupid.
On the bright side, I get to wear boots without drenching my feet in sweat and I don't have to wear shorts anymore.
I strongly advise investing in a down jacket.

personally i like having a sweater made of wool or something similar which may or may not be something i'd wear on its own, then a light sweater/flannel/hoodie over that so it doesn't look too big, and a jacket on top of it all
as for what kind of jacket, i only own three "big" ones because winter doesn't get TOO bad down here; a dark brown leather jacket, a plaid winter coat and one that looks like this
[t]http://www.sds.com.au/product_images/9511905-BILLABONG-1.JPG[/t]
except it's black and has no front pockets, and it's a bit puffier than that. they're pretty great and they match with pretty much everything (save for the plaid one which i don't wear that much), though they're not the greatest thing when it's windy

actually scratch that get this instead

so fair admission but i went to the rack over the summer and they had some neat sperrys on sale for stupidly cheap (I got 2 pairs for $20 a pair). One is a darker navy blue, one is a brighter almost pastel red. The hell do I match them with? I usually just default to my more neutral converse (now my boots for jeans) then try to match the red or blue shoes since I do not want ot fuck them up.
Also fratbros at the Uni here always wear them with knee high socks and basketball shorts. among other poor choices
holy fuck how would they not have a 10 or a 10.5
11 master race
also the shitty dryers in the dorms wrinkle the hell out all my sleeves so bad they look like accordions. What can I do besides buying an iron to avoid this?

buy an iron
they are cheap and you are an adult and you should be ironing your clothes if need be

Alrighty. I'll see if I can't find one on Amazon for cheap. Whats a good source for budget button ups too? I need more, I only have one that came with me to Uni. At least it fits, I think.
H&M or Express or something
H&M or Express or something
alrighty, I'll take a look. My sister gets free rein on my dads wallet for whatever she desires, but I've gotta budget and stay under $60 or I catch flak

stop using dryers. it's not good for your clothes.

i've lived in minnesota my entire life and i'm just completely used to all temperatures by now. our seasons are so exaggerated and you instantly know which season you're in just by looking outside
i just wear a hoodie like this when the temperature is anywhere from 50F -> -30F
below -30F i just stay inside, or stay outside as little as possible if i do need to go out because fuck that. if i still need to go out i usually bring out my coat from the closet and put it over my hoodie. it never really gets to that point though because the last time it got that cold here my work closed down from everyone's cars failing to start.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/6nhzJ19.jpg[/t]
above 50F you don't really need anything special other than your normal clothes
on the lower ends of temperatures (20F->-30F) i usually wear an undershirt with a long sleeve shirt of some kind
if the wind is strong enough at very low temperatures (like -10F or below), i will sometimes wear a scarf with it . i just wrap it around my neck/mouth a few times and go on my way.
i usually only see women wear scarves but when it starts getting that low with a shitton of wind you best believe i'm wearing a scarf. wind chill sucksss
the only parts of your body that you really need to bother with keeping warm are the hands, feet, and head.
if i'm staying outside for an extended period of time when it's really cold i'll wear a warm hat, like a trapper/bomber. however the hood by itself is usually more than enough to keep my head/ears warm so i don't do it very often anymore.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/u8pQAnk.jpg[/t]
at 30F -> 0F i usually wear just a pear of gloves with some nice lining.
0F and below i wear a pair of light knitted winter gloves underneath for a little extra warmth (my hands get cold easily)
[t]http://imgur.com/aSaJZhJ.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/fJU4kLi.jpg[/t]
and i only wear boots if it snows more than a foot, or if i'm going hiking in winter for some reason
other than that i'm perfectly fine with my normal shoes at all times. as long as you have shoes that fit your ankle well and won't come off easily then there will be no problem. if your normal shoe is some kind of slip-on then yea get a nice pair of boots.
and if you don't wear shorts occasionally when it's summertime you might look a little odd, because our temperatures easily reach 90-110F most of the time during peak summer.
Size 7.5 struggle.
By the way, if anyone is thinking about getting these, you need to size down one full size, they fit really big. And if you've never felt them in person, the toebox is all one piece and it doesn't feel like it can take any punishment, its made of a very soft, flexible material. I really wanted a pair but didn't buy when I had the chance.

I can layer up and handle weather down to about 10F - I just avoid staying outside too long. I just need to pick up a thicker down jacket when I get a chance, because I had to spend a couple hours outside on that sunday with 20 degree windchill and -2F weather. Was hell.
I'm set for summer, though - Minnesota summers are like the best part of Texas weathers minus the ridiculous humidity and the 110F weather for weeks at a time.
but
I like 110F weather
stop using dryers. it's not good for your clothes.
Sorry I don't know a whole lot about taking care of clothing. What does a dryer to do harm clothes and how would I dry my clothes without it? I've always just tossed my clothes in the washer and dryer so I don't really know what else I'd do.
just hang it somewhere and wait for it to dry.
It depends on what clothes. If it's just some t-shirt, or some socks or my underwear, into the dryer.
Button-up shirts? Pants? Jackets? Sweaters? I hang them fuckers.
Finnish cold weather wear represent: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85244099/Public%20Images/P1030055muok.jpg
(don't actually clothe yourself like this if you want to look good inside without massive hassle)
The one time I tried hanging my clothes up to dry, they got all firm and crusty. What gives?
I always throw them in the dryer on no heat for about 15mins after hanging them. It gets rid of the dry, crusty-ness.
Unfortunately I don't have the space to air dry and our dryers here don't have much in the way of settings.
Combine that with the fact that most of the kids in this dorm have never wanted their own clothes, you get even more fun. Like people closing front loader washers so they can't dry, and end up smelling like mildew two weeks into the semester
