oh, sweet. just found the same kind on zappos for $85. i'll think about it
Might change my mind on this - I'm reading a lot of horror stories about them looking awful/falling apart after a few wears. Any other options that aren't as purportedly terrible? I suppose I should be more specific and mention that what I'm looking for doesn't have to be very formal at all, more like business casual.
I own a pair of black wovens and they're the most comfortable sneakers/trainers I've worn yet. A little tip should you buy one of these: order half a size up instead of your actual size. I'm normally
a (US)9.5 but I ordered a 10 and they fit perfectly
yeah im a size 12 and 13 fits me like a glove.

Is there anything you shouldn't get from thrift stores like Goodwill? Like shoes or whatever?

Late reply, but I just ordered these :v:
Was planning on buying some new Air Maxes or Free Runners, but I couldn't pass these up. I'm getting sick of 574's, I got a pair of brown/tan ones for Christmas and I barely even wear them anymore.
Also, latest clothing:

im gonna check out a thrift store later when I have the time. Never went to one, what should I expect?
mostly garbage, and the occasional decent item
i don't know how i feel about streetwear
It's definitely much crazier than menswear, but then again some new trends on menswear would be frowned upon a few years ago (it'll be probably still be frowned upon by most people in this thread). More and more streetwear and menswear stuff are mixing together, which makes for pretty interesting outfits.

A musty unpleasent odour and clientele to match

Expect getting nothing and a lot of looking. It's gonna be hard to finding something that is really good in thrift stores. So you gotta have lots of patience.

Well yeah didnt find anything interesting in the thrift store
Well yeah didnt find anything interesting in the thrift store
I don't think I've ever found anything interesting in a thrift store.
They're still fun to go through every once in a while.
Well I did find a sweater that was previously from H&M. It didnt look that bad, but then again, it didnt look that good either. But it was fun, Ill go back there next month or so

A good deal of nicer clothes that wouldn't fit well into this thread, but are still pretty nice.
Don't get why people say thrift stores hardly have anything and smell weird. Unless you are going to a really terrible thrift store or are not looking hard enough, you can easily find clothes that look great or would retail for over $100. Within the past month I have gotten over $1,500 in shirts for around $50 which I could sell to get nicer clothes. Just wash everything you buy correctly and don't buy shoes there.
This all depends on which stores you go to and which country you live in. A local store (non Salvation-Army or Goodwill) will probably not have a ton. I find all my success at Goodwill (the stores with racks, not bins) when shopping for clothes or other items.
Here check this out if you are in the UK-Italy-Spain-France-Netherlands
