this is quite off topic, but i think its funny how groups of facepunchers coincidentally and trendily but ultimately incorrectly use words and sayings like this when making arguments. this is the third time i've seen someone pull the objectivity card in the last couple of days when the subject is clearly open to opinion. before that i saw several people say "facepunch isn't a hivemind blah blah" after getting butthurt by someone making a generalization about facepunch users, and before that i invariably saw a post referring to that bullshit law of headlines in every SH thread ending with a question mark. anyway, in regards to henleys: i just posted a picture of a guy pulling off a henley and even if you cover up ryan gosling's face it still looks good. if you can simultaneously bear that in mind, look past any personal distaste for people who traditionally wear the shirts, and honestly proclaim that they look bad then i guess you probably have puffy nipples.
...in your opinion [editline]25th August 2013[/editline]
nah i think theyre great undershirts. i am wearing one in that picture of the western shirt, you can see it and it looks fine [editline]25th August 2013[/editline] maybe certain places have had certain pieces of clothing taken over by a terrible subculture wheras other places haven't and thus don't have any negative associations with them, because i have literally never seen a henley on someone terrible and mainly just see handsomes and ryan gosling wear them
I never said any one type of people wore henleys Also giving a handsome actor as the example of making something work is invalid as fuck, we all know that Not that I think Gosling looks alright in the henley or anything, quite the opposite
...in your opinion
ur even going to contradict mr gosling? then u lose all support from 90% of men and 100% of women [editline]25th August 2013[/editline]
Not that I think Gosling looks alright in the henley or anything, quite the opposite
so wrong [editline]25th August 2013[/editline] mako does not even have human eyes
using Gosling (or any celebrity for that matter, but especially Gosling) as an argument for whether something looks good/can be pulled off is like neckbeards using pictures of some 1940's detective to say fedoras look good Gosling can pull p. much anything off he's irrelevant [editline]25th August 2013[/editline] henley's have become the new converse lol [editline]25th August 2013[/editline]
Need some all white hi-tops. help
Vans Sk8 Hi's, Supras (some of them), Nike Blazer Hi's

but there's also pictures of him wearing shitty plaid hoodies, flat caps and stripy deep v-necks, are those things fashionable now too??? i'm not denying Gosling is a fashionable dude but not everything popular celebrities wear are necessarily fashionable, & it definitely doesn't mean the average joe can pull them off. even if the celebrity did look good wearing it.
Need some all white hi-tops. help
PF Flyers Center Hi, hard to go wrong with them
this is quite off topic, but i think its funny how groups of facepunchers coincidentally and trendily but ultimately incorrectly use words and sayings like this when making arguments.
uhm i'm using it to get rusty's goose, ofc his opinion (bad as it may be) is subjective learn to take things less seriously
This Henley discussion is pretty rediculous, there are good looking ones, and bad looking ones. Some are flattering, some are hideous, just like all other articles of clothing. As far as converse, they can look good in certain settings but they are definitely not the go to shoe for any occasion like some people wear them. The main turn off to chucks for me is how common they are, even something as slightly different as a Jack Purcell can make a big difference in how it comes off.
I still agree with Rusty. Though long sleeve henleys are fucking disgusting, the short sleeve ones can be pulled off, just not usually.
Most of Rusty's outfits are pretty good looking, I'm surprised he's not on the list in the OP
On the topic of converse looking shoes, I have a pair of Levi's oxford zipper shoes, I think they look pretty decent as far as shoes of that type go. http://i.imgur.com/8Ota7Vx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QWcN0IG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yMqIHeF.jpg They're leather too, and comfortable as hell. Also the tan stripes go on the outside of the shoe, I just put them next to each other backwards, the other side is just leather.
But I like long sleeve henleys. Although skinny people wearing henleys looks kinda silly sometimes, gotta be a bit more in shape than your average bloke to pull them off.
out of all things, i didnt know henleys would be what would stir up a discussion this big i dont really have an opinion on them, i almost never see anyone wearing them around here. they don't seem too bad though.
i'm going to college in maine and own a preposterously inadequate amount of cold-weather clothing. where can i buy some good sweaters/cardigans/coats/etc?
i'm going to college in maine and own a preposterously inadequate amount of cold-weather clothing. where can i buy some good sweaters/cardigans/coats/etc?
j crew for sweaters if you're willing to cash out. that's all i really know!
uhm i'm using it to get rusty's goose, ofc his opinion (bad as it may be) is subjective learn to take things less seriously
oh, my bad. i just thought you were being serious because that's how i usually interpret people making that argument. typical internet sarcasm detection malfunction on my part.
i'm going to college in maine and own a preposterously inadequate amount of cold-weather clothing. where can i buy some good sweaters/cardigans/coats/etc?
I absolutely am pleased with my J.Crew Wool Thinsulate lined Peacoat I bought two seasons ago, I have yet to come across a higher quality peacoat anywhere else I've looked. Also if you are tall, their tall options are great.

I always thought they were just thermals with a button up collar.
