Yes, flipping burgers is a great job to have.
Well when you're 17 and in your senior year of high school, it's better than nothing. Especially when you're getting paid more than you would be at a retail store.
I got laid off in January. I hated that place.
I got laid off in January. I hated that place.
Where did you work?
You're fired because you messed up. That constitutes you as a bad worker by some people's standards. Also you're employer can fire you for whatever reason they want.
you're
Actually the best I've felt in a while. Target sucks, please don't work there or shop there. Also, if you support gay rights don't shop there because they gave an anti-gay rights politician in Minnesota $150,000 a while back. So boycott and whatnot (even though I'm not gay). They also took my 10% discount card, what a bunch of tools. Little do they know I have a backup job where I make $10 an hour in cash, not some $7.25 bullshit that has taxes and Social Security taken out of it. Rate optimistic for being legally unemployed!
Aww, Juice_Layer! First time I see you in FT and it's because you're unemployed. :smith:
x 21 GAYBOWS! :D
Aww, Juice_Layer! First time I see you in FT and it's because you're unemployed. :smith:
Hahaha, I used to post in here all the time on my other account before I got perma'd
Hahaha, I used to post in here all the time on my other account before I got perma'd
I have 3 accounts. You never know where I'll be. :ssh:
I was perma'd a while back :(
Hahah. for what?
Why did you get fired? Don't you think folks would be curious about that?
Why did you get fired? Don't you think folks would be curious about that?
Did you just read the title? Or skip the first page
I'm not a bad worker, it was a huge mistake on my part. It could be confusing, lemme try to explain. So, they had me working Friday, Saturday and Sunday (today). After a series of events it turns out that my mom had to work until 8PM on Friday (my shift that day was 5:00-9:45) and my dad is out of state at the moment. So, I went to write my shift as available about a week ago, that way someone else could cover my shift and I wouldn't be leaving them lacking a worker that night. Thinking that Friday was October 2nd, I wrote down my shift hours "5:00-9:45 10/2/2010" in the book. I come back a week later and someone has signed their name, meaning they would take my shift and got the signature from an LOD (manager) for approval. So I went up and saw that someone had agreed to cover my shift, still not occurring to me that my shift I had written down in the book was on Saturday, not Friday. Saturday rolls around and yet another mishap- my mom's car breaks down in the morning, my car is the only car at the house (my dad is out of town, remember?) so I am reluctant to call in and tell them I can't make it, asking them to cover my shift. I am informed that I was a no-show on Friday. Puzzled as hell, I explain to them that I requested Friday off and someone had taken my shift. The chick I talk to says she'll go double check and call me back, an hour passes and they don't call me back, so I call again to make sure it's cool that I can't make it and she said that my shift for Saturday had already been covered (I was supposed to work 3:30-9:45). I realize my mistake and the lady tells me she'll talk to the HR Rep about it, though it's Target policy that you are let go / fired if you have a no-show in your first 90 days of employment. So I show up today, hoping to discuss the whole shindig with the HR lady, I clock in 5 minutes early (they ask that you do that) and she gets me in her office, takes my name tag and my discount card and tells me I'm fired and she has to be "fair" meaning that I get the same treatment as any other no-show would despite my case. So that's how I got fired from my part time job. Knowing the rules and how everything works, I kind of saw it coming as soon as I realized what I had done. I was actually kind of indifferent about it, but it still sucks that I can't use them as a 2 month reference when seeking future employment. I didn't like it there anyways though, so I guess it's better than waiting two weeks until they could hire someone new. Basically all of this happened due to me writing down 10/2 instead of 10/1. What a difference numbers can make.

Hahah. for what?
A banme, I was bored with Facepunch. Months later I regretted it.
Where did you work?
Target.
Target.
I wasn't sure if you just had a similar story. Yeah dude, I hated that place. I felt like I was expendable (which I obviously was, lol) and didn't really get that much appreciation, whereas at my old job they were pretty consistent in telling people how well they were doing. They basically threw me on the floor with a walkie and a PDA and had me start doing reshops and pulls. My first 3 weeks were just the makeup / cosmetics section doing reshops. It was hell. There are like 20 aisles of makeup and hair / skin supplies and they're all like microscopic containers which are each their own distinct color like 'L'oreal Paris Midnight Shade #363252 Nail Polish' I hated it.
Did you just read the title? Or skip the first page
I just read the OP and he didn't really explain why he got fired.
I just read the OP and he didn't really explain why he got fired.
Then I wrote a huge post about it, which happens to be on the first and second pages of the thread.
Hey, where in Florida was this if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Coral Springs and I've been literally searching for three months for jobs (looking for two part time jobs) since I'm not going to college at the moment. Maybe you've cleared some room for a Target that was once full :P

Shame. You should complain to the higher-in-the-chain authority of target and get your fuck-faced boss fired.
Also you're employer can fire you for whatever reason they want.
No they fucking can't.
No they fucking can't.
I really laughed because your avatar basically matches what you said.
