No GBA love? :c
I'm curious about the economic aspect of all this. How much are you paying for these? Are you buying multiple ones from people or are you buying single ones from different people? How much are replacement screens?
Looking at your collection, it requires a Pikachu N64. :v: In all seriousness I feel sorry for those Game Boys before you cleaned them up. Mine, which was originally my mom's, is still in perfect condition. ... Well, At least I hope it is. We haven't touched it in forever and I forgot if we removed the batteries first... Corroded batteries are no fun.
I would buy a refurbished one from you.
I'm more interested in that N64 stuff, since I got one of my own a few weeks ago. I only have Majora's Mask, OoT, SM64, a blue controller and an Expansion Pak though. That said, you did an incredible job on those Gameboys. They look like new.
I'm actually trying to sell one of the n64's with a few games :p I'm also looking into the proper price for my boxen golden eye game [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=~ZOMG;36524126]I'm curious about the economic aspect of all this. I usually manage to get them for 5 euros, screens are 5 euros as well, they sell for 20 to 25 euro's most o the times. So I do make a fair amount of profit from it. Hell, even cleaning the casing makes them sell better. [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=No_Excuses;36421957]Looking at that clean pic made me imagine some little snot-nosed kid with a bag of Cheetos in one hand and a GameBoy in the other, molesting it to its inner depths. I'll just assume that was the history of that GameBoy speaking to me directly and not a premonition of things to come.[/QUOTE] Some had dried up poopoo-ish substance on the inside, and hairs. No idea how you would get hair on the inside of a gameboy. [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=DOG-GY;36525195]I would buy a refurbished one from you.[/QUOTE] Well pm me.. I still got one with a fresh new screen with protection seal still on, I'll even throw in a protection bumper if you want :p I got to look into shipping though,
Oh man, your work is just awesome. Whenever I try to get a cheap working gameboy they won'z sell under at least 15€, and when they're so "cheap", the condition is even worse than the yellow-ish one you had...
I actually bought a mint red game-boy pocket for a dollar at a garage sale a while back! (Aside from some battery corrosion all the labels and everything were in very good condition!) Then I got pokemon red for 10 dollars, making the grand total 11$!
Going to one of Europe's biggest flea markets this Sunday, hoping to score some goodies :p
I should send you my dad's old gameboy. I'm pretty sure it's broken, but other than that it's in pretty good shape.
Just bought a clear Gameboy for £15 on ebay. There's a busted GB on starting at 99p, should I get it and try and repair it? Not sure how hard it'll be.
Where are you buying the replacement screens from? I have a old Limited Edition Pokemon gameboy and the only thing broken is the screen.
So let me get this straight: You're taking old and worn gameboys, and restoring them like new so future generations can enjoy them? I think I love you.

And if it's just dirty and worm you should get it, that's only a cleaning job :p Get a tri-wing screwdriver though. Else you cant get em open ;) [editline]11th July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=404 error;36717052]Where are you buying the replacement screens from? If it's the clear screen you could get a replacement BUT only for the regular gameboy color. If it's the actual screen you could try finding a really ugly beat up gameboy color for cheap but still with working insides so you can just replace the whole thing if needed, I got no idea yet how to replace the actual screens :p
