Deathproof had a budget of 50 mil, it made 20 mil. Quentin directed it.
pulp fiction cost 8.5 million it grossed 212.9 million world wide (107.9 mil domestic) :iceburn:
Saw it last night. Sucks. I really recommend watching another movie than having to sit through this piece of crap.
You're thinking of Lt. Aldo Raine.
[sp]No dude they took Aldo's bomb and Landa placed it under Hitler.[/sp]
if you had watched the whole movie you'd see it's only about 40% brad pitt, he's not even in most of the scenes.
Hmm, if that's the case I may just go see it. I personally hate Brad Pitt more than just about any other actor in existence, and normally I'd refuse to waste money on any movie starring him or his piece of shit woman Jolie. But I love the premise for this show and I'm hearing lots of good things... If he's not taking up too much screen time, I'll go check it out :)
This numbers say nothing. That is because retarded people who do not know how to appreciate a masterpiece. The end of Death Proof is great, surprise and unique. The soundtracks are brilliants.
No I'll tell you what's brilliant, The ability Hollywood has to mass produce shitty movies and somehow get all the tards on the net to worship them. Brilliant Marketing my dear watson, you see they show you gold and give you shit then make you think you ate gold when really you ate shit.
You spelled "Inglorious" wrong :)
I liked this movie but I thought the bar scene was too long but I don't know how else to cut it
The SS, not the Wehrmact. The Wehrmacht were just normal soldiers. The SS were nazis.
The Wehrmacht were also part of the Nazi party and very loyal to them (most of them), the SS were elite soldiers with one job: torment and kill Jews. The SS was a nightmare to any Jew, the Wehrmacht weren't so much a threat because they were fighting the allies.
My brother says that they got the criminally insane to be in the SS, is this ture?
My brother says that they got the criminally insane to be in the SS, is this ture?
Not really, quite the opposite, which is why their actions were particularly despicable.
Because they WERENT insane, so it wasn't like a mental thing. they were truly inhuman
I liked this movie but I thought the bar scene was too long but I don't know how else to cut it
I think I know what you mean, and I could agree except... I enjoyed it too damn much. First it's going one way, with the 'guess my name' game. You relax, thinking everything's cool. Then it starts to go another way[sp]with the spies trying to have their meeting with Germans RIGHT there[/sp]. Then it REALLY turns[sp]when Gestapo/SS guy pops out of nowhere[/sp]. Then aha! [sp]they cleverly fool him and he wants to play the game...and he's damn good at it too![/sp]. Then, oh shit, you remember what Brad Pitt's character said about [sp]fighting in basements[/sp]. That was an awesome rollercoaster ride in just one sequence.
Don't watch this until after you see it.
I liked it a lot. That is all.
You spelled "Inglorious" wrong :)
I changed the title of the thread to the correct title of the movie. Go look it up.
"Reservoir Dogs": Another masterpiece of Quentin. Also see the ending of his segment on "Four Rooms", brilliant.
That creeped the shit out of me when [sp]Shoshanna's face was projected onto the billowing smoke laughing hysterically as the Basterds unload into the crowd like a mafia funeral.[/sp] Also, did [sp]Shoshanna's lover (the black dude) die in the fire? I was arguing he didn't with my brother after we saw it.[/sp] One final note, [sp]seeing Adolf Hitler get torn to bits by MP40s made me laugh like a maniac in the theater for some reason, probably because noone saw it coming due to the fact that everyone thought he'd escape like in Valkrie or any other WWII film.[/sp]
I think that is why I enjoyed it so much.
Walked out of District 9 to go to Inglorious Bastards. [editline]09:12PM[/editline]
Also, did [sp]Shoshanna's lover (the black dude) die in the fire? Earlier in the movie[sp]Shosanna tells her bf something like "I'm going to do this and I know you won't let me do it by myself", something to that effect anyways. She's telling him she's going to destroy their business/livelyhood, how they survive in Nazi occupied France- their theater. She's going to blow it up/burn it. No escape plan, no "and afterwards we run away to wherever", this is IT, their final act of revenge. That's why when he takes that last smoke and tosses it on the film, he stands there and watches it burn, he has nowhere to go since they are both dying there. As for her, I don't believe she cared about being shot, in fact you could argue she had that gun in her purse to kill herself AFTER seeing the Nazis burn. What I'm sure pissed her off and made her sad was not that she was dying, it was that a frickin' German soldier/Nazi killed her, because she was weak for a second and felt sorry for him, instead of putting a couple of rounds in his head to finish him off.[/sp]
[sp]I see where you're coming from but I'm almost positive they could have easily escaped and intended on doing so. After watching it burn for a little while, he could have just walked out the same way he came back in after locking the front doors, I refuse to believe one would have the mindset "Oh well I'm going to get revenge and then die even though I could quite easily escape just because the love of my life wants to die (or not) for revenge yeah I'm just gonna stand here and burn to death right next to the exit door". It doesn't make sense that they wanted to die, I understand that their nervousness came from whether or not their plan would be successful, and if not then the nazis WOULD kill them. I think they had an exit plan. [/sp]
I did not like this movie at all. Too long and not enough action for me.
Part of what I base my interpretation on is: [sp]He does have a quick, easy escape route. But, he never makes a move to go even after we are told how flammable that film is. It makes no sense for him to stand there watching, the screen blocks his view of the Nazis so it's not like he's verifying that they are dying or locked in- he can't see that. So why does he stand there? Second, they are in love with each other, this is stated explicitly. He's not leaving without her. So, once the fire is set, doesn't it make sense he would immediately move to meet up with her for their escape OR to go looking for her if she doesn't show up outside? You really think he's going to walk away from a burning, locked theater with his gf still inside, and just assume "meh, she'll be alright, I'm sure I'll see her later at our rendevous"? No, to me it plays out that both the Basterds AND Shosanna and her bf were planning to die there and take all those Nazis with them. Plus, the film they made and showed sealed the deal. If anything, anything at all, went wrong, that film was their death warrant. Once they made that film and showed it, they were as good as dead. If even one Nazi survived that night and mentioned that film, they'd be the most hunted people in Europe. Making and showing that film was their final message, a last great act of defiance before they pulled the plug on everyone(including themselves).[/sp]

He was pretty safe from the flames for a little while. Plus there was never a plan for it to explode. That was the bastard's bombs. Shoshahanananan just intended to burn it to the ground as nitrate film was highly flammable, not explosive. He was like 'Yeah I'm gonna let it burn for a while and just take it in oh yeah man feels so good' and then I guess be like 'My work here is done' and waltz out. And I figure he is going to meet her out the front or something. He may very well have gone what the fuck where is she and been like SHIT SHIT SHIT but this is never revealed. As far as I'm concerned neither of us are right or wrong but this is just what I think. Oh and yeah it did seem like the bastards didn't plan to survive it but I was never 100% clear on whether or not they intended to stay seated and explode or take the bombs off and leave them under the chairs and make an escape. Obviously they didn't plan on the fire and saw that they were locked in so were like oh fuck it lets KILL EM ALL RATATATA[/sp] Maybe the DVD/BD will be an extended cut that reveals all. [editline]05:20PM[/editline]
I did not like this movie at all. Too long and not enough action for me.
That is why you didn't like it? Too long, and not enough action? I'd hate to see any movie with you. I know little kids with short attention spans that thoroughly enjoyed this movie. [editline]05:46PM[/editline] Oh, I just realised, [sp]the bastards planned to escape. little man was captured because he was the getaway driver. Straight from SA, "There's a deleted scene in which they assign Utivich to chauffeur. He claims he can't drive, but Aldo insists that they can teach him overnight."[/sp] [editline]05:47PM[/editline] Personally I can't wait to watch the Director's Cut if there is one. Or at the very least, all the deleted scenes.
Just saw it tonight. Brilliant movie, I love Tarantino. The movie somehow reminded me of the Robot series by Isaac Asimov, how he can make long and seemingly dull conversations exciting and keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see the outcome. [sp]Particularly the beginning of the movie and the scene in the tavern.[/sp] [sp]Also I was just thinking, "Haha, awesome" when they killed Hitler because I expected something happening to allow him to escape. Fuck historical accuracy, I'd rather see Hitler's face covered in little holes like a piece of delicious cheese.[/sp]
