I loved the use of Spaghetti Western music in this movie, makes it 3x more enjoyable. Especially when they play a bit from Kelly's Heroes [sp] when they spring Hugo from prison[/sp] [editline]04:07PM[/editline]
I think it's no coincidence that [sp]the two Basterds we see die, in the tavern, are dressed in German uniforms. That neatly fits into the "Nazi" = "German uniform" = "must die" path that they are following. Live by the sword, die by the sword, etc.[/sp]
[sp] Also the British infiltrator[/sp]
The film was great, and provocative, the only issue is that the trailer fucked up and made the film into something it wasn't.

I mean he got the fucking Iron Cross for bravery, only to get his head beaten in by a person for fun.[/sp]
wait never mind
Was I the only one that [sp]really felt bad for the Wehrmacht Captain? So in reality, no you werent the only one, but you did see through the trick and thats what counts.
The final scene was quite badass[sp]as Aldo was the only one that was able to make the "Jew Hunter" piss his pants in fear.[/sp]
it's ma15+ here. suckers.
How did you get in?
In Quentin Tarantino's epic war film Inglourious Basterds, Christoph Waltz portrayed Colonel Hans Landa, the sinister yet poetic pipe-smoking "Jew Hunter". For this role, he received the Best Actor Award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
He deserved it.

Did Quentin Tarantino say that if this film was successful, he would create another movie in the timeline the movie made? It would be interesting to see the implications of [sp] Killing hitler, his command staff, and ending the war in June of 1944. Perhaps they could go to the pacific. [/sp]
[sp]No, those were the bombs strapped to their legs.[/sp]
[sp] There were three bombs in total, Landa's, which you see the timer counting down, and the two strapped on the Basterd's legs.[/sp]
Just saw it an hour ago FUCKING AWESOME
[sp] There were three bombs in total, Landa's, which you see the timer counting down, and the two strapped on the Basterd's legs.[/sp]
You're thinking of Lt. Aldo Raine.
[sp]Did anyone felt disturbed when Landa ( Fucking great acting, I enjoyed this character start to finish) began to talk about the rats and squirrels and the similarity?[/sp]
[sp]Made you look.[/sp]
clever. Saw the movie today, it was good. Had some great acting.
Colonal Hans Landa has some badass bass when he made his enterence at the dinner party you know what I'm talking about
Just got back from seeing it. That theatre scene was the best I've seen in a movie. [sp]When Shoshana shot, and subsequently, was shot by Fredrick, I didn't know who to feel sorry for. On one hand, Shoshana was a visionary, but on the other, a killer in cold blood; sure Fredrick was a nazi, but it wasn't hard to see that he was simply a pawn in Goebbel's game. That scene, made complete with the projection of her face onto the smoke of the burning cinema, couldn't have been any better without being perfect.[/sp]
I went in expecting it being more about the basterds just killing natzi's, which was disappointing but if I hadn't been expecting that I would have enjoyed it a bit more.
I really enjoyed how a very large portion of the dialogue was in German or French. It was an extra bit of effort that payed off really well. On the movie itself, I would say it was the best movie I have seen since Pulp Fiction.
bonjorno
They were showing that the Germans were not the only evil ones, people were bad on both sides.
Not at all.
Not at all.
Really? Because from what I saw the Basterds were regularly slaughtering and mutilating "innocent" soldiers.
Really? Because from what I saw the Basterds were regularly slaughtering and mutilating "innocent" soldiers.
Are you kidding me? Like seriously? They're all Jewish, the "innocent" soldiers would be slaughtering them.
