The majority of the time the big money comes from selling what you know people want and making people know you for what you do. If someone wants to pay you for what you like doing you should be happy with whatever it is imo.
My granddad is a professional painter and when the economy was good he would sell very large originals for 25k. The problem is we live in Florida so the only things that he can paint that people will for sure want to buy are north/central Florida landscapes. It's like typecasting.
If you really want to sell the nautilus one for a good price you should matte it and buy a cheap little frame for it.
