It's still a good shot, but I messed up the composition since I was taking the shot really quick before someone noticed. I messed up quite a bit though. I was already aware she was too much in the middle though, which made me a bit mad when I was reviewing it months ago.
But you see, if the composition was correct, then it would be a good shot. The problem is the picture feels as if it is falling over (as mentioned earlier due to the horizon line not being level. Also, she is smack dab in the middle. Maybe crop it slightly? The final problem I have is that her head is so close to the horizon it feels crowded.

I tried cropping it slightly, it just wouldn't save the photo. Unfortunately she was too far to the right of the image for it to be a good crop. This shot was more of something that caught my eye right there on the spot and I tried to take the picture immediately without thinking of composition or the levels of the horizon, I just was so focused on getting the shot in that second I couldn't get it in time. She moved right after I took the shot too, which also made it worse for me.

I guess you could say I learned a lesson from this photo, take multiple shots just in case you feel you aren't thinking perfectly at the time you take the shot.
@ Boyblunder
I just can't see what the subject is in your photo.
do you have the 1/3 grid in mind?
Giving your photo, in this case, a border, further emphasizes the 'nothingness' in your photo.

Most of the landscapes (waterscapes?) don't have a true subject.
I keep the rule of thirds in mind all the time, just didn't really take it into consideration regarding the smoking shots.

Borrowed a 50mm from my English teacher and took a shot of one of my friends who asked for her picture to be taken for her Facebook. Haven't really been getting any really good shots lately, which really sucks.

Nice shot but it doesn't seem like the focus was on her eyes...
30 minute sketch that turned out pretty bad, but I am trying to learn to draw backdrops

Yeah, the lighting wasn't too great where I picked the spot to be at. Which sort of ruined the shot for me since the eyes turned out like that.
I needed a way to motivate myself to do homework, and I was watching a Fistful of Dollars.

Now every time my screensaver comes up, or I see my desktop, I feel too threatened not to do homework.
Thanks, Clint Eastwood death-stare.
This probably didn't even deserve a post.

You might already know this but if you want to make girls look cute, shoot them from an upwards angle. Right now the mood of the pic is a little dominating.

As said, I already am aware of the mistakes. Which is why I mentioned the fact I haven't taken anything good in a while, school has been stressing me out so much I can't really think of anything good for photos at the moment. I usually take better photos outside of school, because then I get a better idea of what to do without time constraints in between lunch and passing periods. And this turned out to be the only decent photo I took in the past few days, which is a bit depressing since it isn't too great. Well most of the stuff I've posted recently isn't anything I consider special, so it might take time until I get good shots again. But first I need to fix up my math grade before the semester ends, and that's what's killing me a lot at the moment.
Edit:
Not to mention, I would have taken it from a better angle, but the security in the school isn't too happy about it when I take photos. So I had to make due with just that angle since a security camera was right by us when we took that photo. Even the guys in yearbook get stopped when they have their cameras with them, which is pretty messed up.

It seems most of your 365 are pictures that were taken by other people of you.
doesn't that ruin the whole point of improving on photography?

Yeah its pretty hard cause I gotta run sometimes to get where my focal point is xD.
I need a wireless remote. They dont make them for my camera but there are 3rd party wireless remotes that use IR and work even better.

I decided to document my frustrations with electrical after replacing all the switches, sockets and fixtures in my bedroom. As well as adding four recessed 6" can lights in the ceiling on a dimmer. I'm in the midst o turning my once drab bedroom into a modern studio room that would make an ikea catalog jealous. I need a nice place to work.
My very clean line drawing,

I don't want to shade this one because I like the way it looks, but before I added in the black areas I wanted I decided to xerox it and practice on another piece so I could know how it would look before I fucked over my line drawing.

My dad gave me some old Darkroom and Creative techniques magazines a while back, there was this really cool issue that I got with some gang photographer. Surprisingly the dude's still alive even though he's hung around with these gangs since the LA riots in the early 90's.
