Too much contrast
I actually barely touched the contrast. The photo came out like that.
So much noise.
I actually barely touched the contrast. The photo came out like that.
Yeah. but you can reduce it ... [editline]04:55PM[/editline] Redo : wanted my eyes to stand out more.
Not so much a creative photo but a photo of something creative I made in ceramics. Tagged for size. I hate people who keep spouting that it has to be "rule of thirds". It doesn't make you sound like an experienced photographer, just a jackass who overuses certain phrases and doesn't know any other way of providing constructive criticism. Now, if you were to shift the entire photo to the right, pushing the pillar to left and capturing more of the doorway, it would be less visually awkward. Taken from a lower view point at a more inclined angle could help add some perspective and make it more like you are looking up at it in awe. Also, key parts are cropped, like the edge of the door frame and the bottom part of the pillar. It's good.

I even see guys who don't even take pictures saying the same phrase because everyone else is doing the same thing.
If this followed the rule of thirds, it'd be perfect.
It does.

It does follow the rule of thirds, but that pillar is a bit distracting since it's in the middle.
I had to take people pictures for my photography class, thought this one came out well. I checked out a Nikon Coolpix that belongs to the school to do it. I really hate how that tag shows through on the middle of her shirt, I wish I would've noticed and had her move her hand. Oh well.
I use the rule of thirds only to break them. also, here's a little something I'm workin' on. Anyone play Halo? Making a Sniper ODST setup. Measures 4 feet exact, which is the limit for costume props at the events I attend. Eventually I'll have the whole setup put together, including an ACTUAL helmet (if you couldn't tell, this one is just a copy/paste to hide my dorky grin and the fact I'm not black like Romeo... though I'm sure he's not the ONLY sniper ODST out there). Obvious things to do: • add the square loop above the front of the scope • fold up the existing bipod and put in a better representation of the halo model, simple tubing, forward-swept. • add the second portruding barrel, maybe put a laser in there • re-paint it to match the original color scheme (earth tone top, flat gray bottom, black accents) Here's a shot of a recon helm I did a while back, but I don't have any pics of the finished product. Friend took it for... paintballing. :argh: I'll eventually make a new costuming thread once I get some more material for the OP and have the time to keep it updated more than once a week, so I figure it merits the not-deserving-a-thread-yet status. :v: see my old TF2 Costuming thread here, lots of pics throughout the whole thing! spoiler- made from a hacked up one of these- it still fires darts :v:

This isn't why this image is average. What happens when I look at it is that my eyes go right to the middle pillar and thats it... no where else. you should of had a higher F stop to have the whole Cathedral in focus...
To ask what kind of pen he uses is to ask Spielberg what camera he uses
What are you trying to suggest?
I use Micron Pens as well as Faber Castel India ink pens. Good pens mean the world, it gets expensive though when doing large pieces in ink, you'll run through a set of pens after about a week of constant use.
I like drawing rollerball pens but certain ones tend to be kind of runny when I don't go fast enough.
What are you trying to suggest?
The most important piece of equipment you have is your own mind. With enough artistic vision, you can accomplish anything, the tools you use aren't necessarily that important in comparison. At the very least, photography works that way.

If you draw stick figures in your english notes, you'll be using a tablet to draw them in ms paint or photoshop. Similarly, if you take emo pictures of yourself in your bathroom mirror with a cameraphone, you're most likely going to take emo pictures of yourself in the bathroom mirror with an SLR, probably shortly after walking around the local town for a day and snapping shots of random stuff.
I like the idea of it, but I would have had a hard time figuring out what it was if you hadn't told us. [editline]03:57PM[/editline] It looks really good, but if you flip it upside down it looks very similar to a diagram of a uterus. Look at them fallopian tubes!
Art is all about what the viewer takes from the piece, so if you think fallopian tubes I shall call you Mr. Mackey ;) Also, Pling, I'll gladly purchase you one if you pay the $399 shipping & processing that I require >_>
the expression on that guy's face is unfathomably smugger than our current :smug: emote can justify... :ohdear: an interesting set, nonetheless. a few shots were a bit more snapshot quality, but hey, the clients get what they want.
There you guys go fucking it all up again. Those are just shots I took with friends at a party. They are snapshots.
oy, I was the one defending you earlier. Thought this was supposed to be a shoot or something like most of your work, but it still stands that the look on his face is rather scary... :raise: [editline]12:34PM[/editline] does everyone have washboard abs where you live?! D:
I like your party snapshots a lot Brian.

curse you people! :argh: still, sorry if you took it wrong bud. Just was looking at it like a shoot. if you actually consider those snapshots, they're friggin' awesome snapshots. :buddy:
curse you people! :argh: still, sorry if you took it wrong bud. Just was looking at it like a shoot.
Speaking of abs. My shot tomorrow has to do with abs. Although im not in shape like i want to be :{ it should work out [maybe]
I have an extreme metabolism... I have more visible ribs than abs. :c
I didn't feel like my 1 hour photoshop doodle was worthy of a thread of it's own. I was thinking about somebody while I was drawing it, and it's probably obvious what my thoughts were. But, it took me an hour to draw it all, seeing as I always use my laptop's "trackpad" to draw everything. It's quite exciting actually. (It's like finger painting! :hurr: ) http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6460/igiveyoumyheart.png Note I got bored with the clouds and just did a bevel and emboss on them. It killed it. I know. I'll whip up a "non-shit" version tomorrow maybe.
