Trying out a new way to make human forms quickly. Forgot to add the first frame.
I really think brain ect is fantastic but it just seems like somethings missing from all of his work. I can't really figure it out.
It's almost too clean, it's weird.
Pretty much this. Even snapshots from a party is lit up perfectly. But you can clearly distinguish a Brian photo from everyone elses photos, which is well done. And he has some really kickass photos now and then.
I really think brain ect is fantastic but it just seems like somethings missing from all of his work. I can't really figure it out.
Composition?
Composition?
Yeah. It's just ugly composition. Really bland. Everything looks like a snapshot. I can't really find a good way to describe how the composition. It just lacks any emotion what-so-ever and completely draws me out and alienates me from the picture. [editline]03:37PM[/editline] I don't like the colours either. [editline]03:37PM[/editline] It looks too contrasty. Yeah that's not a word.
I love the shots, but sometimes the lighting is what bugs me. The shots are perfectly lit, and maybe that's the issue. It makes it seem too clean (gives me the sense that everything was taken in some sterile environment). But hey, good shots nonetheless.
gives me the sense that everything was taken in some sterile environment.
I agree with this. Like I said, it alienates me.
What exactly is the rule of thirds anyway?
Was thinking of tidying this up and fixing some of the broke perspective, but that takes looooooong.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
So do interesting things have to cross as many lines as possible or do interesting things have to go along the lines?
So do interesting things have to cross as many lines as possible or do interesting things have to go along the lines?
Basically the Rule of Thirds is a compositional guideline. You try to put the emphasis of your photo on one of the third lines. This prevents your picture from being just a boring centered shot. But it isn't as much of a rule as it is a guideline. It's a good basis for setting up your photos, but it isn't by any means the only way to compose them. Edit: The Iguana across the street decided to prop up on the bushes. It draws focus to the iguana, but you also look at everything else because it's not entirely center. You get a good overview of the picture.

I like the second one better. The first one seems a bit blurry.
The first one suffers from the usual poor composition, but the second one is pretty dece to look at.
The second is a bit crooked. Fix please ?
whoa, I didn't notice, there's a dark line that seems like the horizon line in the second one, but it isn't... or is it? Odd :raise: re-orient ONE of them to match the other, maybe? I can't tell which, though :v:
The second is crooked as pointed out and should have been taken with the dock's edge flush with the corner, and pointing more towards the dock and from a higher plane pointing down. [editline]01:05AM[/editline] Or lower down and pointing higher up.
Brian. I looked at your old stuff. You used to be very good at landscape Photography...
Wow, Brian, you did have a point. We can't help but nit-pick at your stuff... it's... magnetic D: I'm just going to say it's because we're subconsciously jealous of all your fancy professional equipment. also WHOOOOA, post 2222. sweet.
