What is this witchery.
I got done early in class today and had about 20 minutes to kill so I did up some character head concepts or something. Mainly trying to get my new found style down pat. Bleh. Our printer has some nasty shit on it somehow, so yeah, that's what those nasty looking splotches are.

well... there goes MY evening.
18-guage brass wire, stale fries, and lots of patience whilst 15-year-olds stare me down like I'm forging a tinfoil hat.
(totally worth it)
doing it for my college photography class. Have to advertise something without it being in the picture directly. I figure this could be for a diet plan or hunger suppressants... or, uh... hell if I know. Make some suggestions.
Why is the blood splatter so glossy? It ruins it. You should make it shine as blood or not shine at all if you ask me.

Agreed, blood isn't glass. I just think you should leave the blood as it is in the normal L4D images
here's some ore. Please give me criticism.

The local newspaper wants to publish my photos, fuck yeah.
Good for you man! What kind of lens do you use currently? You might want to invest in a faster one.

Just the standard 18-55 lens that came with my XS. I just got it on Monday, and I already got plans on buying some lenses in the future.

Yea, I bet it's hard to work with the little light, but you seem to be doing well.

I said this in the last thread
oh i must have missed that. well look up a few posts and tell me what you think.
Going to a big Halloween party... I have the 50mm and kit lens.
I don't know which to take but I can only take one...

Well, if it's a party I suppose you should just keep with the 18-55 so you can get good views of closer subjects... Plus, the pictures should turn out with less motion blur since you'll (presumably) have better lighting, and people (presumably) aren't running around and being tackled to the ground. :v:
Oh, and I might suggest you eventually invest in a nice flash. A "cheap" one that works well would be something like the Canon Speedlite 430EX II. Used right, a flash is invaluable ;D
Playing around with gradients and shadows in Paint i.e. manually.

You should reduce the noise.
You should reduce the noise.
I did reduce the noise. It was much worse than before I reduced it.
increase the ISO in dark scenes, that should reduce the noise considerably right off the bat.
edit- read this.

Well my ISO was all the way up to 1600, I already knew what I was doing.
