put a S curve on the rgb. And do center weighted average metering. it's more accurate.
Will do! I need as many tips as I can get xD.
Actually that is a good picture. and that is bokeh it just sucks because that lens doesn't create good bokeh really so its not as circular...
It really isn't that good, the tint on the photo is just a flickr fad, and the composition is lacking. The subject matter is ace though I will admit.
It really isn't that good, the tint on the photo is just a flickr fad, and the composition is lacking. I don't know if this is any better? I wasn't able to pull off that "s" you spoke of in the curve adjustment.
How do you post a large batch of flickr images anyway? :ninja:
That's not bokeh.
Bokeh is the out-of-focus part of a photo, and it's not good because it's really coarse and distracting.
Adding artificial vignetting is horribly cliché, don't do it.
Artificial vignette can work in some circumstances as long as it's subtle. Edit: Yeah hammertime nevermind you're right about the bokeh.

Ready for some in your face abrasive don't give a fuck smoke weed everyday critique? Ok good. 1. Awkward composition, underexposed, she's glowing 2. You should invest in a strobe with a diffuser so you don't have to worry about those shadows being so harsh. 3. Distracting TV in the background, harsh lighting again. 4. It's a decent shot, but again harsh lighting and the colors look too green 5. Probably the best out of the bunch. The lighting is less harsh (Were you at a slight distance?) and everyone loves the laugh of an old person. However, the colors look green again. 6. I don't know what made you think it was a good idea to process that photo like that 7. Out of focus 8. Grainy/purple/lacking composition 9. Kind of cool, maybe a different angle should have been taken to avoid that annoying street light. Bonus: Lol
I'm just starting to work with my camera.. I think I did a little too much exposure here.. Using a Canon EOS(Rebel XS)? (She isn't a model, I know, does it really matter?) [IMG_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/ds99.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Still working it out and what not, I only have a 18-55mm zoom lens. As well as photoshop effects.
Too much overexposure and the colours are kinda cold/unsaturated.

For the record, 8 is grainy on purpose.
I have my on and off days as far as critiquing.
Consider this an "on" day, would you?
I suppose.
[img_thumb]http://www.roflsaurus.com/users/Hammertime/20091130-IMG_1210.jpg[/img_thumb] Nothing special, just another kitty picture... [editline]10:24PM[/editline]
Artificial vignette can work in some circumstances as long as it's subtle. [IMG]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/Zac221.jpg[IMG] Edit: Yeah hammertime nevermind you're right about the bokeh.
Yay :3 Well you know I guess it's a stylistical preference, I would never add it I think... Saw an art project at school once, 30 photo's and each and every one of them had tons of vignetting, it drove me crazy. Maybe I hate it since then...
[img_thumb]http://www.roflsaurus.com/users/Hammertime/20091130-IMG_1210.jpg[/img_thumb]
aww, nice picture. you know, this reminds me... My (now ex) girlfriend's aunt went out after we had gotten our first DSLR's and bought the same exact model as my girlfriend (canon rebel something-or-other, new 3 or 4 years ago), except she went the extra mile just to spite us and bought 3 big expensive lenses, a massive flash, and some unholy carrying bag that allegedly cost $200 (to be fair, I recently got one that's 80, but at the time that was insane sounding). The only thing she'd do is take pictures of her chihuahua's... like, the same pictures crazy cat ladies would take with a disposable camera. :argh:
I've been practising with the "vintage" effect.
Drew this on my computer...self-portrait. I think my hats got some issues though but im sure how to fix them.
Try removing the black outlines and making the shapes visible by shadings. The lips ect are way too visible.
Artificial vignette can work in some circumstances as long as it's subtle.
Yeah, it can be a great way to put the center of attention on the main object in the photo. If it's really subtle you won't really notice it but you will be attracted to the middle.
Try removing the black outlines and making the shapes visible by shadings. The lips ect are way too visible.
A bit l8 m8
Too much overexposure and the colours are kinda cold/unsaturated.
Could you possibly look at my other edited attempt, if it's any better? I doubt it, but it's worth a shot? :P I'll remind myself to turn it down next time :D
Yeah, it can be a great way to put the center of attention on the main object in the photo. If it's really subtle you won't really notice it but you will be attracted to the middle.
yeah, I tend to use the vignette tools in photoshop's raw editor to balance out a photo so you're not wandering too far away from the focus. With this picture at first I was looking at all the clouds in the corners, kind of expecting to see a bit more off to the side before moving on to the actual bridge, but with the tweak focus tends to move to the man first and then examining outward. (asked a few friends, that's what [most of them] said they ended up looking at first). Feel free to [agree] or [disagree] depending on how you look at it. ...and yeah, the clouds right here ↑↑↑ are a bit distracting, but they were too awesomely crisp for me to blur them out :v: this has more vignette than most of my others, but it actually had that feel in-person because the sun was right behind the bridge causing a massive light area. whatever, though. I think just adding it (in over-extreme amounts, most of the time) to have it there can sometimes show that the photographer is a little too :smug: about how awesome their work is. Same goes for eccentric borders, I say.
aww, nice picture. you know, this reminds me... So as some of you already know, the only camera I own is my 1.3 megapixel camera on my phone. I am cheap. (I'm getting a "decent" camera for christmas, so I just have to wait a little less than a month to start taking pictures at some decent pace) Anyways, enjoy some grain-ulated pictures. I tried to fix them up in post processing, but there's only so much that I can do. Mostly uninteresting snapshots. The only reason why i picked them to "try to fix up" is because they were so horribly grainy to start with.
PANTS_ARE_FOR_THE_WEAK_by_ghostlemur.png
I couldn't think of anything else to call it since Rad McCool there has no pants.
Composition is off took from a tinted window in a moving car haha
The foreground (fence) feels a little too strong and kind of throws the composition off balance. I really like it overall though; quite nice to look at.
I've been working on my brothers website design. I just got done doing the header graphics and slogan. Any good? By the way, it's a site where we code other websites for people and design them.
