I need to fit it with some straps so I don't tape it down :v: [editline]06:32PM[/editline] fwooshy plasma globes :aaa:

whoa, what's that last one?
whoa, what's that last one?
Some weird looking wall I saw at some hotel.
crazy hotels... Oh, a friend of mine just hatched an entire batch of praying mantises. Would have been a fun one, but she's half the country away :v:
Actually the really cool thing about this Mantis was that it was laying eggs at my school when I took the picture, unfortunately it was too high up to get a good shot from behind to show the eggs.
trying out some new processing techniques...
whoa, cool... it's like a post apocalyptic world where things DIDN'T go all grungy. :v: only thing I don't really like about the pic is the glow around the trees... other than that, epic stuff!
Looks like film. but I assure you it isn't taken with my rebel XS and photo shopped it too imitate film.
You didn't photoshop it to look like film, you photoshopped it to look like all of those other pictures on flickr that try to look like film from the 70s.
↑ IIIIII'd have to agree with perfumely on that one. still a cool look to it, though.
You can also see the reflection of the camera.
You can also see the reflection of the camera.
Yep, I liked that though, I honestly could of removed that. [editline]10:17PM[/editline]
You didn't photoshop it to look like film, you photoshopped it to look like all of those other pictures on flickr that try to look like film from the 70s.
meh, I tried. Nothing can really look like film though... only film.
Large ass cleaners lobby Looks like film. but I assure you it isn't taken with my rebel XS and photo shopped it too imitate film.
That reminds me of Postal 2.

I think the effect you see on your screen mainly happens because the image has to be scanned into a PC.
yeah. As I said when critiquing another shot,
...but I've never really enjoyed the faded off-color thing unless it's on a crinkly old photo in a photo album I found at my grandparents' house.
It definitely has an interesting look, but I always figure that's best left to its original medium of display. Would be interesting if you printed it out on photo paper and worked on making it look old and worn.
But film typically doesn't have a unique look to it. I think the effect you see on your screen mainly happens because the image has to be scanned into a PC.
As well as photograph print aging effects.
Actually film produces colors and bokeh differently...
Actually film produces colors and bokeh differently...
That retro look that comes from old photo's is usually a result of poor quality ink and paper combined with age, not the film itself. At least from what I've seen.
That retro look that comes from old photo's is usually a result of poor quality ink and paper combined with age, not the film itself. At least from what I've seen.
yes and as a result of cross processing and such.
Doing that old style colors compliments the composition when used artfully and in moderation, but when people do it to every single photo, it's just cliche and you think, what's the point? But then people may argue that that's their style. But is it really the same as doing all black and white photos?
[editline]04:38AM[/editline] Facepunch is cool and rates everything I post as dumb. Bravo
Well, he doesn't do it all the time performual, so it's legitimate by your standards at least. I say you have to take the photo with the intention of the end result. If you want black and white photos, make sure you're taking pictures that you want in black and white. If you're doing some crazy cross-processing to draw out colors, find something to fit the bill. I like that jet is trying out techniques and perfecting it. Despite maybe doing this all as-he-goes or whatever, he's still maintaining interesting and new thoughts to his portfolio whilst still maintaining a general style across all his processes. ...if that makes sense. Either way, I'm liking what you're doing, despite it not being a perfect analogue of what you're trying to process it to look like. I think it's those experiments to make it look like one thing that get us to slip up, make a mistake, and find something better for our own purposes. Keep at it.
But film typically doesn't have a unique look to it.
