Just a fun vector design I'm doing. I'm not sure if it's done yet. Anything I should change/add/remove?

Could be good on a T-shirt.

I just got my Nikon 50mm F/1.8D AF in the mail today, it was a surprise, didn't figure it to arrive today. I'm really enjoying the performance of it, it really does live up to the name of one of Nikon's most useful lenses.

Done the easier stuff.
Details added to grass and rocks, extra gradients added, sky changed.
Now I need to animate the stream and other small details.
I'm currently up here in NC so I can't post the raw's, so Jpeg will have to suffice. A couple pictures so far on the trip.

The red ontop is from my "Neutral" Density Grad. I'll be returning it and getting something else.
Any thoughts?

I don't think the way the mountains on the right suddenly stop looks too natural, maybe make them slowly fade over the horizon? Also they could use more atmospheric depth because they don't feel very far away. The trees to the left don't really contrast well with the background mountain. The color gradients aren't very natural, especially the grass. Otherwise I like it, seems like a good backdrop.

You lucky Rural-livin' bastard. :argh: I like 'em, makes me miss living in a more country area.

Yer, I see what you mean; I'll make the mountains colour closer to the skies to that it fades into it.
The grass still has some work to be done, more blades of grass need to be added along the gradient, this should make it look more natural. Mist will also me added in the valley.
Thanks for the advice!

I don't live around here. I live in south florida, but I'm visiting family up here in North Carolina.

These are all very beautiful shots, thought I'm not so fond of the weird glow that the filter gives the 2nd and 3rd landscapes photos.
They're very nice though, you should share your work here more often!

Thanks, There is only a big colour difference if I use the ND and the grad. But I'll be returning the grad soon. It's a full gradient, rather than a soft one. So the gradient is over the whole filter. Much tougher to use on horizon's.

first one needs better cropping, second one better balance
we could use a separate thread or even a section for photographers like the dorkroom on SAF.
This place here is really clogged up with them.
That would be awesome, but I don't think Garry will add that in anytime soon.

Got bored last night, so I decided on retouching some random photo I saw on Deviantart.

Merry Birthday Jesus, everyone!
I'm looking to get a DSLR.
I'm into film making so I'm quite familiar with the technical garb but in general I'm not sure what way to go.
I got £250 for Christmas and in total I have £300 and I'll possibly be getting between £30-50 more from my sister.
So say I had an estimated budget of £350 - 400 and was terrible at saving money for more than a couple of weeks.. what camera should I get to start me off?
Is this a waste or is it okay with the right lens kit:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5593086.htm
Ultimately I'd LOVE this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172867
It's cheapish, it does HD Video (Like I said, film making is a big thing of mine and it'd be good to have HD video with proper film lenses for that nice film look), but £500 is well out of my price range and as I said I'm horrible at saving money.
So anyway, any help? :p
I got a nice tripod for a surprise gift! Now all I need is the remote shutter release. Tomorrow the rest of the presents I ordered will arrive. Merry Christmas!

I say wait for the better camera, waiting is always better.
Get the Nikon.
I'd love it but it's unlikely I'll be able to make £200 in the next couple of weeks and by then my impatience will have forced me to spend the money on smaller things I want.

Literally lock the money away some where and wait out, a few months will guy buy fast and a good camera is worth the wait.
I got an awesome remote shutter release.
And some money, My memory card [SD] shit the bed and wont always take pictures.
But im going to get a new Tripod and SDHC card. any recommendations ?

Well SDHC cards are cheap, I just ordered (should be here tomorrow) a Sandisk Ultra III 16GB Highspeed SDHC for only $30.

Ok, well spend it immediately on the cheap alternative and be unpleased.

Warning of sorts, 1080 image res ;D
Ahhar, it's not Christmassy at all, but this isn't a Christmas thread. It's an art thread.
I decided to recreate a scene (screen shot that I Googled) of Link's Awakening DX in a modeling program. This was the result! Each block is 10cm cubed and has a 1cm chamfer on each edge, giving the blocks individuality from each other so it wasn't just a wall of colour. Because I was greedy and didn't optimise there are a lot of tris in there, but I like the end result :)
Crit and such is definitely welcome!

That's fucking SWEET!
Wanted to try the Panoramic setting on my new camera. I like it.
