That's fucking SWEET!
Haha thanks man :) Glad you like it!
just a snap from a walk today, I like the natural light.
we could use a separate thread or even a section for photographers like the dorkroom on SAF. This place here is really clogged up with them.
I agree. [editline]10:06PM[/editline]
I'm looking to get a DSLR. I'm into film making so I'm quite familiar with the technical garb but in general I'm not sure what way to go. I got £250 for Christmas and in total I have £300 and I'll possibly be getting between £30-50 more from my sister. So say I had an estimated budget of £350 - 400 and was terrible at saving money for more than a couple of weeks.. what camera should I get to start me off? Is this a waste or is it okay with the right lens kit: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5593086.htm Ultimately I'd LOVE this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172867 It's cheapish, it does HD Video (Like I said, film making is a big thing of mine and it'd be good to have HD video with proper film lenses for that nice film look), but £500 is well out of my price range and as I said I'm horrible at saving money. So anyway, any help? :p
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond5000/page21.asp I doubt you'll get anything good for 300
I'd love it but it's unlikely I'll be able to make £200 in the next couple of weeks and by then my impatience will have forced me to spend the money on smaller things I want.
Grow up Also nice pictures^ [editline]10:28PM[/editline] I want to live where you live
Just got a tablet for christmas

I can get some of my HD video for ya and post it up eventually to show you how well it works, but for now I still have a bit of audio editing to do beforehand. The microphone does NOT like recording extremely loud concerts :p

finally got ONE of my damn editing programs to work... though it's still a bit rough. Know how hard it is to match up audio in Adobe After Effects? :raise: here's a little clip from the concert I went to the other night, re-dubbed with the album version of the song. Despite looking kind of awkward at first, that's exactly the point of the song in the actual concert. Could hear the high pitched tones through the garble of overblown audio. unfortunately the album doesn't cover the scratching he was doing during the song, only at the beginning. I think this is a good test of the camera's ability to record in low light. I can see the video better than I could see the damn concert, haha. ...was standing way in the back, using my 55-200 lens at around 150-ish. A good proof of concept for the vibration reduction on the lens, I'd say. [editline]1:11[/editline] nikon d5000 dammit
I kept a general theme with my colour editing, but I'll post originals if people are interested. http://i46.tinypic.com/1zb6tcw.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/2hhdbg4.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/35d3f2f.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/30d9suc.jpg

I think you softened the skin a tad too much around the edges mainly. (Yes I know some of it is due to shallow DOF, but it looks airbrushed)
Why's it not "currently unavailable" yet?
that's on my flickr for my friends and family
Was just trying out single point focus with my 50mm, got my rubber hood for it today and I love the little bastard. Loving the control with single point focus, I don't think I'll use multiple point focus again any time soon.
Why's it not "currently unavailable" yet?
It is.
Not artistic but reality. I Decided to take my camera with me on my mundane fifteen mile drive to my girlfriends house. This is what the great state of Indiana feels like on a murky, overcast, shadowless cold and windy winters day. I don't think they are that bad for 65mph shooting over the steering wheel while still attempting to stay on the road, lol. Was shot with my 50mm lens which I was really impressed by it's performance and clarity at those speeds. Not an ounce of editing because...well it wouldn't be the real place if I attempted to spice up the pictures now would it?
I know how it is, Ajacks- I'm up in the suburbs north of Chicago. Illinois is... the same. Except I'm near the damn lake, so I get hefty cold winds and freak snow/rain storms. In fact, chicago has a made-up health condition for the winter called "S.A.D."- Snow-associated depression... as great as snow is, the strange flips in weather mixed with the sucky roads turns everything a mucky grey, rather than white. :sigh:

Let me know when you're headed to the city then, I'd be more than happy to serve as a tour-guide. [editline]1:11[/editline] we're gonna get bum-rushed nonetheless. Bring pocketfulls of quarters, but keep them in separate pockets to avoid jingling sounds. They know when you're holding out on them. :v: [editline]1:11[/editline] this guy was nice. [see: asleep]

He'd climb in a nice car, drive from his house in the suburbs to a parking garage in chicago, and then go plant himself in front of a McDonalds asking for money for food. People would give him a dollar or two at a time because that's worth more when you want to make sure he gets a hamburger. My mom's friend refuses to give away ANY money because of this, and I kind of think that's wrong to judge all hobos by one douche taking advantage of society. Still, I feel good giving away five bucks in quarters rather than stiffing hobos. They're getting damn good at giving puppy-eyes. :raise:
I had an inspiration to design a weapon inspired by the Nazi German gun designs. I forgot the copy the basic silhouette of the final design but as you can see, iteration is the key to these things. I could have gone for many different designs and not start to iterate one but I kinda knew what I was after already so it was pretty easy. :) It's a 9mm submachinegun derived from my original idea of a battle rifle with MG34 drum magazine. And to keep the mindset right, I listened to some German marches while working on it. :v:
