The leaves look alittle soft in the resized version. Larger size: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/7559/wall31200.jpg
To be honest I don't really like that blurry water effect. It makes the stream look so... dead? In a bad way. It draws the focus to the sharper, higher contrast sides as well.
Took pictures of a local band today, the place we shot at was nasty as hell though. There was a bunch of beer bottles and used up condoms nearby us. :v:
I bet they'll be pissed when the find out that every one of their photos is underexposed
Subjects aren't lit, you should have let the background be a bit overexposed to get good shots of the actual band
I don't have any lights on me at the moment. I tried to get it to be brighter, but that was the best I could do with natural lighting. [editline]08:05AM[/editline] And using a kit lens in a dark environment doesn't help either. I just tried to make use of what I had on me during the shoot, if I had a light I would have definitely used it. But I purposely took the shot with the light hitting their backs like that, since it really made a good shot when I did that. If only I had a soft box or brolly box of some sort.
I got the same problem. You go to their support site and request a repair. I have the same issue. Settings reset as well. What does your picture count reset to? Mine is 8,927. The camera works fine except for those settings. Where did you get that quote for the price? Error 99 is a umbrella term for some overall issue. It's def your memory subsystem. Not the lens. I've done alot of research on it. At this point my work around is leaving the camera on, and popping open the Memory slot to turn it off.
Yeah I can do the same. the photo number was like at 4350 or something. I might put the camera in rice as it was exposed to humidity... that seems to work. Or i'll have to open up my camera and find the internal battery and pull it out or something.
Yay! My new battery grip came in the mail today! Mine looks identical (even the same lens, well I've got the hood as well) but I don't have the ability to photograph it since I loaned my D40 out to my dad for a trip and I'm down to one camera. It looks and feels fantastic. I really like the mass it adds to the camera, really feels more solid in your hand. Now once my other toys arrive I'll be set. I'm going to convert the viewfinder to use the Nikon DK-17M viewfinder magnifying lens that they use on the D700,D2x, and D3. I ordered it, and the bits to convert the viewfinder to use the DK-17m as well as the nice rubber eye gasket so it should look identical to this setup (except on a D90, not a D300) Everyone who does the mod says it's fantastic and well worth it. It provides a 1.2x magnification factor which everyone falls in love with apparently. Also, just throwing it out there since most people assume I'm modding my camera's body, I'm not, it's all removable, the only piece I'm having the modify (grinding out the inside threads to make it larger) is the little $3 plastic converter bracket that slides on over the viewfinder. This should be fun!
Tried to export it as a gif so you can see the water ripples, but for some reason .gif formats do not like colour gradients. Hope you like it! Any suggestions for other landscapes?
only issue I'd have with that is that it covers a small portion of the top of your screen... I go mad even when I don't need to see what's behind it, even if I don't realize it's there. Same thing happens when a bottle is sitting in front of my monitor and just barely covers something, I get really agitated. :raise: also, I've got a D5000, so it would negate my fancy pivoting screen, which would also infuriate me to no end. ...and it could just be that I'm lefty, but I always hold my camera in portrait mode with the flash to my right, so the battery grip wouldn't be of much use to me, aside from that whole "extra battery" thing. :v: [editline]02:08PM[/editline] Ninja!

I'm left handed so when I hold a camera and try to focus on something and then take the shot it gets so annoying.
but for some reason .gif formats do not like colour gradients
It's limited to 256 colours.

If there's one thing about the photo manip that I don't like, it's the lighting.
Yeah true the lighting of the seconded one is crap i made it in about an hour :S So I didn't really put too much effort in to it...
Drew this to a friend who bought me Stalker SoC.
That's p. badass
I hate Error 99. it doesn't do anything really cause I can still take pics. but it is so annoying. im completely draining my battery right now and trying that out. I tried every other method possible.
Messing around with some very simple light studies. I plan on making a little series. These, which are basic. Second wave, more elaborate examples of the ones presented in this one. Third wave, which would be complex use of each one individually, and lastly a piece that kinda pulls them all together. All hand drawn with a brand new Intuos 4 :buddy:
A few forum sigs I've made. This one I made today, I'm VERY rusty right now as I haven't made a sig in over a year. Here are a few from awhile ago: I'm not too good anymore. :(
I had no internet connection for a day, so I made some traces. There, I took a good picture of my D90 with my brand-spanking-new battery pack grip, love the way it handles now.
@ thelinx well then let me do the honours: if you're going to have a huge lack of detail, get rid of those fine black lines. a lot of the shapes that should be smooth and rounded such as eyes and the glasses are very wonky and misshapen and that style you've got for the glasses, just scrap it entirely it doesn't work or look good

That's one the of the biggest issues I have with them.

I personally love these kind of pictures, which is why for the trip I took alot of shots like that.
I redid that image EnRA Drew in PS
After a crashing sound in the basement below me sent me into defense mode I did a sweep through the house and found nothing but an overturned boxes, damn boxes falling can cause a right spook late at night when everyone else is fast asleep. I title this, Scared Shitless, lol. Yes I know it's a Taurus, I understand that it has a bad rep already thanks -_-
You know, Taurus pistols have a bad rep.

Use the pen tool or something. Everything else looks top notch. Do desert, please. Try using different combinations of gradients and pen tools. @Ajacks Oh yeah, by the way. Taurus pistols have a bad rep.
The gradients are a new thing for me, I normally don't do them, but I've been trying to follow Adam Phillips' flash style; http://chluaid.newgrounds.com/. He uses the gradients to much greater effect, so I'm still learning. Desert sounds good!
