you only need a darkroom for printing (If you didn't already know that), for developing just the negatives you can do that just fine without a fully fledged light-tight darkroom.

Also it might just be the small scan but it looks like the bike is out of focus.

that's what all the places in my area do, it seems that their system is still largely archaic.
I didn't upload these to Flickr because they're from my first roll.
where was the second one taken?
the second and third shots were both taken in an abandoned warehouse in partick, i added it to the map in flickr, it shows exactly where
I fucking knew it was in Glasgow! [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] I think I'm going to use that as a location for a shoot for a band or something, it looks intresting

The perspective is very natural, like you're sitting there across from her, and it has an overall very positive emotion. Out of curiosity, do you have any idea what the focal length was?

dat feel, when you go to get a roll developed, and it's blank.
In a last ditch attempt to get results from my pentax I've loaded a 24 shot roll and am gonna run the film out in 2 days, because I have a weird feeling I either didn't load the film properly, or someone pressed the film release right at the beginning of the roll or something. so prepare for 24 shots taken in my room haha Also it feels good to be back in the photgraphy section  sadly I kinda went off photography because of heavy school work and shit. looking to get back into it big time over the summer
I know with my camera, before I loaded it I checked everything to make sure it was working without film, that way I would know it was the film that's the problem. I learned in doing this that my camera's shutter doesn't work properly at speeds of 1/4 or slower and that for these kinds of speeds it's better for me to try and use the "B" shutter speed, which leaves the shutter open as long as the shutter button is pressed. It'd probably better/cheaper to check the mechanics without a roll in it before putting another roll in after this if it still doesn't work. It's especially helpful if it's a rear-load camera and not a bottom-load camera, because then you get a look at all the mechanics when you open the back up to put the film in.
okay... scanning those shots from that roll now... I think this one looks quite... good.
What software do you guys use for scanning your film? Just wondering what everybody uses, as i only know Silverfast and the standard bundled scanner software (canon scangear, epson scan, etc). Any other software that works good too?
I use the Epson Scan software, haven't been bothered to learn how to use a third party one... I've heard the Vuescan is good though.
Can anyone recommend a camera which is similar to the Pentax ME Super - I'm an SLR beginner and people said that the ME Super would be a good one to start out with, but I can't seem to find a good deal anywhere, so are there any alternatives? Thanks

Thanks
if you want a camera from that era, a Canon AE-1 / AE-1P or Olympus OM1 / OM10 / OM2 / etc would be good, there's also a whole heap of other brands that you could look into which I can't think of right now...
