Film always seems to look nicer than digital :(
Film always seems to look nicer than digital :(
Like comparing a tube amplifier to a modern digital amplifier, the new stuff is just too sterile and boring.
I am incredibly behind in my photography class because I have so many rolls to develop I'm thinking of giving in and getting them developed by someone else instead of doing it myself.
I think I ruined another roll of film. I was able to get 40+ exposures from a 36 exp roll. I'm wondering if the roll was even loaded properly. I rewound it and I'm going to get it developed. Hoping for the best. Ugh. I really haven't been lucky these days.
hmm should be okay, last 4 shots probably won't show up though. usually the film has some extra exposures so it doesn't rip it out of the canister (which has happened to me). best of luck though.

Kinda want to use it, but at the same time, it's covered in sand and dirt and stuff because it was raining, and I wouldn't want to get that shit inside my camera. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Then again, Fujicolor 200 is just superia 200, so fuck it.
the shot of the escalators is incredible. yeah i wouldn't use the film either if it was sandy, that would be awful to get in your camera
They're OK but Cueball's masterpiece 'McDonald's Straws' are much more consistent in their quality.
diggin the shots of the glasgow subway [editline]25th October 2011[/editline] kelvinbridge?

That being, sharp and contrasty black and white street photography, I love it.
Uber|nooB, the B-Hazaranati approves of your work. *subtle nod*
Right I have to get off me arse tomorrow and take some pictures, I have not been in a photography mood the past few days so I'm going to change that. I don't know what to use so pick which film I will use tomorrow.
Well saying I have this wonderful British weather its BW400CN then
woot, can't wait to see 'em. love B&W pictures.
woot, can't wait to see 'em. love B&W pictures.
Well I'm gonna start digging for a train fare. Then I'm going to load my Zenit TTL. Also I sold my Zenit 11
Rented out this bad boy with a 35-70 AF-D Nikkor 3.3-4.5. Two rolls of Ilford 400, 36 stung me £11, ouch.
Ilford 400 is an amazing film though.
I hope so! Extending/boosting the ISO below or much higher than 400 means incredibly grainy? no other drawbacks? B&W so grain tends to look quite nice.
i've been using mainly ilford 400 for the past 5 years
Dumped my entire film-expense-savings into a small stockpile of Fuji instant. Not a huge fan of the way the shots turned out overall, I didn't really have the 'mind for photos', but it was definitely a fun trip.
oh wow that's a lot of film. can't wait to see more, those pictures are awesome looking.
Lookin good, glad the conversion worked out, no matter how jenky. hehe
Thought I would show you guys how little of my work you have seen. Remember how I shot mostly black and white self-processed film over summer. There's around 6 rolls of 35mm 36exp, and 3 rolls of 120, all of which haven't seen the lights of a scanner (due to unlucky circumstances). I can't bring myself to shoot anymore self-developed film due to this massive backlog.
9 rolls isn't that much, I sometimes spend an entire evening (like, 5pm - 11pm) scanning that much, from around 6 weeks or so... Also, Bopie, the 120 is tedious as fuck, because you're shooting 6x7 you can *just* not fit 2 negs right?

I think moving from digital to film has in general improved my photography quite a lot, and I now have more of a feeling of what exactly I'm going for when I go to take a shot. I don't own a digital camera other than my phone. I have a kodak I got for a class. it turned up missing the other day I need to go digging around my room for it again.
aww yeah took some shitty photos on film today
I only used about 20 exposures of my B&W the past two days, as far as I know I have took a picture of everything I would want to in Newcastle.
i found this weird unbranded film at goodwill today, and it's a 12 exposure roll. fortunately the camera itself had a mechanical winder, so i was able to get what I think is most of the film back into the cartridge, but the end ripped. could i just tape it up and flop it in my camera and shoot over the rest? i know pictures might not even come out (only get charged for working exposures at walgreens), but i'm more concerned about the tape holding the film together correctly. i was thinking of taping the end back to the other piece that it ripped from, so it could still wind in my camera properly.
