How many rolls would you usually get out of that?
I've developed maybe 10 rolls and I'm maybe 1/4 through each
God damn that sounds so good. Uni's photo agency use the same chemicals as I would if I self developed, hopefully get enrolled before xmas. I'm allowed to rent out a film camera for use over the holidays, so that should be good!
by the way, that's black and white (just making sure...) I'm using Ilford LC29 for my developer and Ilford Rapid Fixer for fix. I'd check out some rodinal though, or Foma R09 as it's now known.
I'm getting an argus c3 with a few lenses shipped to me soon, all for 30 dollars. I've never shot with film before, really excited to learn the process. 30 dollars for beautiful film shots versus buttloads of cash for a DSLR :\
Zenit 12 should arrive soon, quite excited again
The shots came out pretty well, but I think the enlarger I was using was damaged, I couldn't get any prints to come out without parts of them being faded and the faded part changed each time i tried
this is a picture i took with my argus c3, ghetto scanned because boots fucked up when developing it (7 prints from a 24 roll wtf) atleast they gave me the actual negatives back [t]http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/8101/emptyfair.jpg[/t] [editline]2nd November 2011[/editline] strange it didnt look that grainy in photoshop, if you open it in a new tab its not so bad
I can hardly see what it is
its one of those flat rides that rotates and the edge of some cheap stall, it was quite busy but i seem to have taken a picture with no people in it
been doing lots of printing lately, gotta find more time to hit the lab and pump out a bunch of stuff that I've been itching to make outside of class. I'll be scanning this and two others in tonight, though one's more just a personal snapshot that I like. [editline]2nd November 2011[/editline] dumped the above shot and that snapshot to my tumblr, I really love the look after being scanned (despite the grain looking wonky and exaggerated) [t]http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/12267130990/1/tumblr_lu2a2hlHCb1r223xw[/t] [t]http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/12267731835/1/tumblr_lu2an6ryfU1r223xw[/t]
Any of you guys do your own developing at home? I want to learn the whole process and set up a dark room at my parents place.
Just some of my photos, i shoot on a Canon AE-1P. woah those are some great shots, i should use me ae-1p more. what lens do you have on yours?
Thanks for the compliment! I use a 50mm 1.8 and a 28mm 2.8

I'm actually in the UK, but Facepunch likes to think otherwise haha. Was development and scanning expensive as well? I've got my first two ever rolls sitting in a bag, and I want to get the best price for getting them up online basically.

I get it developed at a place called SnappySnaps, they are franchised so the price varies. At the moment for redeveloping and scan to CD it's £4.99 for pickup in 24 hours. Im currently searching for decent cheap places to mail it off and get dev and scan to CD. Where about's in the UK do you live?

I'm in London so sure to find some places, but what I've seen so far is either supposed to be crap (Jessops) or expensive. Will check out SnappySnaps, cheers! If a place offers film development and SCANNING, they would need to develop it first before scanning right? I'm confused about that.

I'm in London too, where about's are you? Yes thats correct, developing is actually making the film react to a liquid, so that it cannot be affected by light any further. Then they scan the negative.

Ah I understand now, thought it sounded too good to be true with some prices I looked at.

Oh north west, I'm south east In Greenwich. Well scanning might mean onto CD too?

Gotta tube into zone 1 which is a bit of a pain since I'm tight about travelling even with my 30% off peak time travel! Will give Baker Street an email now, my flatmates study there so its handy that they would be able to pick it up! Thank you very much sir! Friend of mine in uni got lost coming back from Greenwich heh. You got many close to you? EDIT: Read some reviews, people don't have much great to say about them, but that's due to overcharging for memory cards, passports impolite staff, and one review noting horrible neg work. Try my luck I guess. If one place develops a roll of film and messes it up, can it be redeveloped to a better quality?

I used the Sutton branch and they do 1 hour or 24 hour pickup and 24 hour is a pound cheaper making it £4.99. In woolwich (the closest one to me) it's £8.99 and they don't do it cheaper for 24 hour. So you'll have to find out. Yeah i just got that 30% off off peak travel card, travelling at peak hour is a blow isn't it.. its like 3 times the price of the discounted fare haha. From now on I'm giving it to my girlfriend who gets it developed in Sutton and she emails me the photos, saves me about £4

Usually best in those cases to shoot a test roll and check out how the shop is before actually giving them important stuff/stuff you want to keep.

I'll send out a few emails first and search other places that would be rated higher and then decide, but price is a key factor. Nice saving, my flatmates have 1-4 travel passes so they could do the whole thing. WIN!
Nope. [t]http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/12267731835/1/tumblr_lu2an6ryfU1r223xw[/t] so I showed my teacher this picture today. Instead of her usual not-paying-attention-mode reaction of saying "yeah... mmhm... maybe dodge this a little/add a second or two to your time/increase the contrast filter, etc", and telling you "it's OK", she just stopped, and looked. And looked. After a few seconds, she then said to herself under her breath, "...it's like a warm, summer day. Wow...", then handed it back to me and said "this is great, keep it up" I felt all tingly from getting a reaction like that.
