Yep got the argus working, pretty fun to shoot with, can't wait to get the roll back.
Yep got the argus working, pretty fun to shoot with, can't wait to get the roll back.
cool, I have a argus/cosina and I really want to fix it. its in great condition, other than the fact that all the photos turn out white.
did some firework shots today on film, can't wait to see them
Hey guys, I have a problem. Just got this Kodak Portra 400VC 35mm roll back and it has these light bands on the edges that are aligned with the sprocket holes. It was shot on an Olympus OM-2n. Not all photographs from this roll have these bands, but a large number of them do. At around frame 12 out of 36 the light bands start appearing. It's also really fucking low contrast. Is it the camera or is it the lab that fucked up the development process or is it the scanning? Here's a frame off an other Kodak Portra 400VC 35mm roll form a Nikon F3 with the Nikkor 35mm f/2.8 lens. Way better.

If you see those lines on it, then yea, they fucked up in developing. More likely they fucked up in scanning I think, I can't imagine why there would be lines matching sprocket holes when there's no light happening in development...
pretty sure that sounds like you have light leaks in your camera.
pretty sure that sounds like you have light leaks in your camera.
Yeah, foam that shit up.
might just take my camera out with my shopping to use the last few shots
might just take my camera out with my shopping to use the last few shots
I've done that before to use up the last few shots, but it always makes me feel guilty afterwards for not being more patient, when I look at the prints and the last few are shit.
i have been taking my om-10 in my saddle bag, kind of worried it will get broken but its getting used a lot more and the variety of the shots increases
Isn't it just depressing when you have the last two rolls of TMax ever sold in your town in your fridge waiting for something worthy of shooting but then that something doesn't come? Man I hate when that happens.
got this roll back, maybe if i edited some they'd come out a bit nicer but i like them the way they are [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] um yeah i got a roll back car passing by codenamecueball, on Flickr hug me by codenamecueball, on Flickr trees by codenamecueball, on Flickr fireworks by codenamecueball, on Flickr sunset by codenamecueball, on Flickr clydebank by codenamecueball, on Flickr ewan the wannabe hipster by codenamecueball, on Flickr ewan the wannabe hipster by codenamecueball, on Flickr 1000D by codenamecueball, on Flickr west highland way by codenamecueball, on Flickr salt and pepper by codenamecueball, on Flickr little birds by codenamecueball, on Flickr ewan by codenamecueball, on Flickr dashboard by codenamecueball, on Flickr bus by codenamecueball, on Flickr sky by codenamecueball, on Flickr

The brand carsen is very unknown to me, but i think it's just one of those reseller brands like Revuenon who sold very cheap lenses. I could be wrong, but that's just my experience with obscure third party brands.
I was thinking it might be the pentaprism so I would possibly be able to change it with my old Zenit 11s I'll put a few photos up soon to show you
Well, if you could change the pentaprism, then you could fix the problem. But i don't know if the zenit 11 and 12 are simmilar in construction of the prism. Though it takes some skill taking apart the camera, and putting it back together without destroying anything:wink:

To be fair it would take me a while to even figure out how to get the top off, as I've got a half disassembled Zenit 11 in a box because i cant get the top half off.

The speck in your viewfinder looks like that the prism sealing is coming apart (there is something like tinfoil that keeps light from entering the prism) and then you get something like this that looks like fungus, but thank god it isn't fungus. I would suggest changing the prism, surely it would be fixed then.

Do any of you guys have any friends that think Analog is the worst thing that ever happened to photography?
Do any of you guys have any friends that think Analog is the worst thing that ever happened to photography?
care to rephrase that... before analogue there was no photography.
care to rephrase that... before analogue there was no photography.
I think what he meant was how people think film is such a terrible atrocity compared to anything digital, IE people who've grown up with digital and probably only had experience with disposables with film.
I think what he meant was how people think film is such a terrible atrocity compared to anything digital, IE people who've grown up with digital and probably only had experience with disposables with film.
Exactly what I meant. I've got one who really does think that.
Some of my friends joke about it, especially when I tell them that's all I shoot, but if any of them actually thought that way they know better than to say it in front of me.
I heard we're not supposed to run our films through the x-ray machines in the airport. Is that true?
I heard we're not supposed to run our films through the x-ray machines in the airport. Is that true?
carry-on xray is ok for film to go through, checked bag xray is bad for film, its much stronger.
I ask for a hand check on 800 and faster. They just swab for explosives and hand them back to you, pretty painless.
i printed 4 shots in under an hour today
Forgot about Asa setting and left it on 400 while using a 100 film. Fuuuck.
