Better than forgetting which you put into the camera and being unsure about which to go by. I'm assuming I didn't put in Ektar 100, as i still have my 7 rolls here, but I don't know why on Earth I would've put 400 in there when I have the Ektar... As a result I've been sticking with medium format for a bit.

I have a little window on my camera that shows what speed the film is on the canister.

most film cameras since the mid/late 80's til the end of the 90's seem to have that.
shit, i have to print 2 shots today, but I only have ~25 minutes to do it

I'm thinking of buying some Ektar 100 36 exposure. Anyone got an average UK Price?
Is £4.27 a roll good?

Only one problem I don't have a debit card and only have PayPal credit, when I checked they didn't take PayPal
Why don't we offer PayPal? We're not against the idea of an easier payment system than handing over card details, but payment providers who take a hefty chunk in commission don't mix with low prices (see above about 'margins'). Every layer of complexity that gets added into a service means more cost to us, and that would mean higher prices for you. Do you really want that? No!
I thought I read something about that, and it explains why they charge 28p more on eBay
i ended up with extra time, so i got 3 prints done and handed in my big portfolio project!
so my friend has a couple polaroid cameras and he was wondering what kind of film he could get for them on the cheap. be it black and white or color, just some cheap film that works with most generic polaroid cameras
impossible or nothing
fujifilm makes cheap polaroid film right? i mean like $1 per exposure arounds, just not like the legitimate polaroid brand film
is this good film guys?

Only for type 669/690 and 4x5" - Fujifilm doesn't have the rights to the Polaroid 600 (the size you think of when you hear 'Polaroid').
Polaroid wanted in on the magnetic tape industry, which Fuji had alot of R&D with. Fuji wanted access to Polaroid's instant tech, so this led to Polaroid and Fujifilm trading patents, intellectual property, etc.

It's not quite pro-level stuff, but you can get good results off of it.

Can you recommend me some good stuff?

If I had to use only one film, it would be Kodak Ektar. Also check out Kodak Portra.
I like Fuji Pro 800Z and 400H too.
Not much of a B+W guy, so someone else will have to answer if you're into that. Ilford seems to be the standard.
hows this?

forgive my ignorance but does kodak Ektar come in other ASA's than 100? Whats your favourite film speed to shoot with? I think i'd find 800 a little too sensitive as i do a lot of outdoor shooting.
Portra 400 is a great all-rounder. H4Z3Y just bought 20 rolls.
I'm usually shooting 100 - 160. I agree, I don't load up 800 unless I intend for indoors.
Oh yeah, Ektar is 100 only. They used to have 25 and 1000 too, but have since been long discontinued.
I'll go right ahead and buy a few of thise then. Why do you choose to use 100? Surely the conditions would have to be super bright, why do you find the Ektar the best?
it's really satisfying when you ignore the light meter and shoot something completely manual and it comes out awesome. Posted the shot in creative photography, I'm happy with it. Looks even better in print, though I hate how it looks once mounted on the cheap slightly yellowy board that the school's store provides and none of the damn photo shops in the area do
gentlemen, i've been looking into getting a few rolls of ilford film.
on a scale of 1 - 10, how would you rate this film? what are some of the best rolls for me to use?
ilfords a good reliable film

Even better when you don't have a light meter and 90% of of the roll comes out properly exposed. Unfortunately the files are too large and I can't get them on Flickr at the moment, when I have time I'll get to resizing and posting...
