Only a few problems the TTL light metering doesn't work and the self timer is stuck.
Actually the light meter works but not sure how well
Two more from that one time where I like took that camera and made it take some pictures

Can anyone find a rangefinder that goes for less than £15 including P&P?
My grandpa just gave me his old Nikon with 2 lens, and a flash.

Okay, can anyone give me some info on a Rokinon 4700 MD Zoom? I want to try it out, but can't find where the damn battery compartment is....
Can anyone find a rangefinder that goes for less than £15 including P&P?
I just picked up a Honeywell Visimatic 615 for $5 at a thrift store, seeing a lot on ebay for 10. It has a lever-based focus (seen to the right of the lens below), and the viewfinder has the gold brackets and the rangefinding focus area is a small gold square in the center that blurs away at its edges, very nice and barely noticeable when its in focus so it won't be a bother when trying to frame things well.

one thing wrong with mine that I actually came across online whilst looking for the above picture is the film advance roller being broken at the top, so be wary of damage. It still rotates, but I'm still not sure how it'll affect pulling the roll of film along, since the bottom sprocket gears are in tact and both the sprocket advance and the spooler appears to rotate just fine. I'll do some tests another day.
This time with the purchase of a "mint" condition Honeywell Visimatic 615 that was "tested" and found to be in perfect working order.
I don't know how they tested it. The top of the take up spool is cracked and mostly missing making film advance impossible.
Just about to pick up my Zenit and Praktica and go out. Might get a roll or two developed while im out

You could perhaps get a Canonet 28 if you are lucky.
Very common camera and cheap to get with good buildquality.
Olympus Trip 35 is also a good camera, but be aware that the lightmeter could be broken because it hasa silicium cell that gets less sensitive over time if not properly stored.
I'm in another Zenit 12 auction. I think I need to close eBay forever, Ok I've give up on it.
Also I'm selling some 110 film, a 126 Cartridge, and a roll of 127 on eBay, All 100 iso all expired in the 80s

Could you pm me your 110 film auction? Because i am looking for some 110 film to keep supply of it for my canon 110ED.
EDIT: Oh i found it already, nvm. Meh just 2 rolls isn't worth the hassle of letting it being shipped international.

Have been pretty busy in the last while, exams coming up very soon, so not much time left for photography unfortunately. Will hopefully do a lot more after exams.
[editline]29th November 2011[/editline]
Also that photo was from the first roll that went through my OM-1 (and my second roll of film since I got into film), scanned with the v500. I think I'm gonna try and fiddle about with the film holder height, because the scans do look a bit blurry in places where they really shouldn't be.
[editline]29th November 2011[/editline]
Those people at the bottom left are actually walking back from the Kings of Leon gig in Edinburgh. The crowd was so massive that they just walked in the middle of the road, blocking it entirely (hence the bus in front just standing there), and this lasted for about 40 minutes. Felt pretty surreal, especially as it was really late and I was exhausted.
terrible bit of good and bad luck today. Saw the shot I've been hoping to catch for the better part of this year whilst on my way to, of all things, finish off 3 shots on my 120 film and hit the lab. You see, there's this long walkway across a pond with a bench dead center of it. From the road, it's an awesome view, but there's about a half mile of trail and ~1/4 to 1/2 miles of walking along the main road to get to that point, and no shoulder to pull over on so you HAVE to go park down the road and run back.
I've tried taking the picture without people, looks bland. tried setting it up with a friend, they ended up terribly inept at taking directions and looking natural, so everything looks retarded and set up.
Finally, as I'm driving past, I see a guy with his bike up against the bench, and he's relaxed as hell with his arms out along the back of the bench, just taking in the scenery. It was surreal, and one of those "fuck I gotta pull over" moments. I drove to the forest preserve's parking lot, bailed out of my car with my TLR in hand (didn't have a strap with), and tore ass all the way down the side of the road praying he didn't get up and ride away.
He was there, still relaxed and taking in the sight. If I had been faster, I would have caught a flock of ducks taking off out of the water near me, but the tall grass in between was a bugger to see past so I had to work with my TLR's waist-level viewfinder above my head... which is god damn disorienting with how everything is only mirrored horizontally but not vertically... but above the head everything is flipped three ways to sunday so you spend a good amount of time tilting back and forth just to get things level and centered
I had metered for the daylight while I was running, with the light meter cover closed so it metered only the slits, and this is the problem. I had forgotten to turn the meter wheel to 'closed' from 'open', which I almost always use. The difference here is that the light rating number (which determines what you set your aperture/shutter to) rotates with the dial from open to closed, meaning a readout from the needle when closed in daylight should be around 15-16... but given it was open, the rating was 10. That's five stops of light too bright, and now I have some pretty solid black squares on my film. It looks semi-salvageable, but I know I'll lose a lot of the detail in the brights (like the sky which was most of the frame), and a lot of contrast.
you can see the metering system on the side here-

Ghetto scanned it, hopefully it'll look OK with a little tweaking. wishing I had my digital, not only to catch with that but to have caught my metering mistake and used the digital's aperture/shutter just as a tried-and-true catch all.
[editline]28th November 2011[/editline]
ghetto scan seems moderately OK with some heavy level editing, maybe a proper scan will look presentable.

blobby grain due to 400 ISO, terrible black/white points due to exposure, and enhanced by bad focus, I was holding the film in my hand in front of an umbrella flash and using my camera with a manual macro lens in the other hand... swinging film around is not the most effective way to focus
[editline]e[/editline]
this is what the film looks like, though it looks solid black unless you're holding it directly to a light

>conversation starter
>the fun of having fixed a 55 year old camera you bought for $30
>120 film is big and gives you lots of real estate compared to 35mm, which is cool when you make your subject really tiny and they're still very noticeable
>medium format cameras have a uniquely thick depth of field even when aperture isn't fully open that covers the world in an ethereal reality of focus even at moderate distances
I've only developed 2 rolls (24 exposures total) so far but I'm loving every step of the way in making this one of my primary cameras.

I have one and it's really quite nice. It's small, quick to focus, and produces nice images. However be warned if you take the camera out of Auto and put it on Aperture Priority (which are the only modes) the shutter speed will always be set to 1/30, and the meter won't work.
Maybe the Canonet QL25 is a better choice, its a bit bigger but it can be operated full manual too ( it has apature and shutter speed dials on the lens ).
It's somewhat older but costs almost the same as a canonet 28 will cost you.
I have both the Canonet 28 and QL25. They both cost me 15 euros a piece.
Awesome camera Daijitsu.
Anyone ever used at Holga camera? What are your experiences with it?

my prints came out pretty awesome, I'll scan my favorite in later on
I also found out that leaf shutters have no flash sync limit, the above shots were f/3.5 @ 1/500. think of the strobe-based possibilities, hnngh
