awwwwww maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. x(
Don't worry there are tons of m42 lenses out there.
so I based my schedule for the past two weeks around two simple facts: I have a fuckton of work due ASAP, and my film photo final is due thursday the 15th. I worked nonstop- minus getting assaulted with a surprise birthday party last saturday- even skipping in-class lab times to finish off my work. I literally only finished it last night. I then planned to develop my rolls and start printing today, and even got permission today when I came into the lab to work overtime tomorrow since lab usually closes early on wednesdays then my classmates showed up at the lab and were confused as to where the teacher was, since it was 4 (when class starts). They were specifically concerned she wasn't at the classroom, instead of the lab, but I didn't understand until we got shoo'd out of the class by the labtech. Turns out, last tuesday the school decided our 4-6pm class was still daytime hours, and overrode our schedule and forced the 'final' day of class to land today at 4:30 so as to fit with other classes or something stupid, even though night classes still ran the same times and this forced it to overlap into night class hours by a half hour. so, I only had enough time to develop two rolls of film in the lab before finding out that everyone else was told last tuesday, during lab-only classtime (considered optional attendance) that everything was rescheduled. No email, no nothing. When I asked about this, she said "I revised it into the syllabus, you should have checked that". Yeah, because every few weeks I sign into the otherwise never-touched 'blackboard' system and re-read the basic guideline paper to check whether or not schedules have abruptly changed with no notification. My sister was even in lab on thursday and the teacher was just kind of dismissive when she was asking for some help, and didn't bring up anything about the new deadline despite her not being there on tuesday either. so yay, no final project to turn in. I had some stupid scantron to fill out but I don't think that makes up for 10 prints and a class presentation. There were a good deal of other students who were caught off-guard, there was a kid with only one print, one with only five, and several just plain out missing. What a mess
Developed my first roll of B&W in the darkroom. Completely fucked it up by overlooking the fact the safelight is only safe for photographic paper. Still it's a pretty interesting process but I find it's quite stressful at first. The development was successful though. I got a completely black strip of film. Any tips on how to load my film onto a plastic Patterson system reel? My main concern was trying not to get any fingers on the film, but it was almost damn impossible. Better luck next time.

After a few films I tend to get quite panicky and then try to relax and it usually works out. Anyway, here's some medium format B+W, shot on a Russian Lubitall 166B. I really like shooting manually and with film, it makes the whole process slower and better: Just a little dipytch, any CC welcome.

I thought you said you shat a roll of B&W :v: Is that Ilford XP2? I know that it has that kind of greenish tint to it. Either way I really like the photographs. The have character.
even though i'm not usually a fan of just bokeh shots, i absolutely love that one you posted. the b/w really makes it special.
Is that Ilford XP2? I know that it has that kind of greenish tint to it.
from what i gather, that tends to happen to c-41 b/w films in general also, nice shots!

great shots pick! also i found a minolta maxxum 7 body on craigslist for $50, going to sell my 7000 for $20 and buy that thing, it's pretty much the eos 3 (not quite top of the line, but near it) of minolta cameras.
He's implying the same person is in both pictures.
Aah, I see. All makes sense now. I guess I'm just being slow.
Got a Pentax MX for free off freecycle. I really like the internet and the kindness of strangers

my mom bought this little negative/slide scanner from kohls and it actually works really well. much better scanning results than i would get from paying walgreens like $10 to make me a photo CD. So expect some of my great grandfathers old slides in here, and i'll start shooting film more now that i only have to pay to develop film :D
@Highwind - It's Kodak BW400CN, and thank you. x> Wish I could find some Ilford around here. <_< @Trogdon - Thank you, it was composed from my Christmas tree. x> @Uber|nooB - Thank you very much. @altern - Try this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/slipq/6514100483/sizes/l/in/photostream/

Pickwickian i sent you a message on Facebook but I'm guessing you frequent more on here, what scanner do you use? The epson v500 is £160 now and it's just a little pricey Not sure if i've posted this before, just feel like I'm lacking in this thread a bit. I've got a shoot with a friend on tuesday so i should hopefully have a complete roll by then. Well if i have a scanner by then anyway! Also i shot this on a 28mm Soligor lens, obviously not the best. What are the cons of using a cheaper lens and can you see any of them evident in the photo?

We both bought half each and then I'm going to slowly pay the extra by the time the year's over until I own it completely.
