Do you plan on shooting a lot of film? Because if you don't start scanning on your own, you'll be stuck with 'no detail in the shadows and lots of dust.' Also, scanners pay for themselves after saving money on having so many rolls processed, only (no store scanning). I know they cost a lot of money (which is really tempting to just spend on other things), but scanners are a basic necessity for anyone that shoots film.

I really love shooting film. But I just don't know. I think I'll postpone it for a while and expand my Canon 7D set first

I haven't done anything with film before, so i really don't know much about it :v:

You will have to get it developed first, then take the negatives which you can use for your scanner :)

Just saw I still had to pay €260 to my drivingschool which I thought I had already payed. So long hopes and dreams, so long.
Or just print your own prints exactly how you like them and then take a well lit straight on shot with a digital. Not photographs, but this is how my mom got her paintings onto the computer. http://cindyryanpaintings.com/demos/gallery_pe/dynamic/gallery.html
Your mom can paint my underwear anytime
So you mean 2 santa hats?
Got a roll of Kodak 620 coming in the 20th hopefully, then I can see if my camera works or not
So you mean 2 santa hats?
If that is what you kids call it these days
you wear kids as your underwear? [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] Oh lol I thought you said "if that's what you call kids these days"
Got a roll of Kodak 620 coming in the 20th hopefully, then I can see if my camera works or not
Film came early, just cleaned my camera, gonna load the film and take it with me to a concert tomorrow [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] Also, what's it mean if it says 8/12 Exposures? I'm praying this works because I'm pretty sure it's respooled 120 film and the camera says "THIS CAMERA DOES NOT TAKE 120 FILM" but I'm assuming that's just because it needs to be respooled first.

Got an old ass roll developed. The only roll I've ever shot, and it's full manual. Has anyone had any experience with Zenit 35mm cameras?
took it with my new Kodak 2-A, had to do a little voodoo to get it to hold the 35mm right  used 800asa film because it was the only roll I had sitting around, doubt they had more than 100 back in 1910 so 4 of my 6 shots were way overexposed. (not my pic of a 2-A)
Dai, that camera is fucking awesome. Just saying.
the model I found is in perfect working order, the glass is clean, very few issues with the leather case or the leather on the bellow, the aperture adjusts smoothly and it works perfectly fine at all of its shutter speeds, 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100 plus bulb (held) and time (click once to open, once to close) just wish I had a cable release, then I'd be set. Fun thing is, the tripod mount screw holes are the same size as modern ones, so I attached my strap mount to it and have been acting like a dork. I'll get some pictures later, kinda out of town since last wednesday so I'm a little set back on dumping stuff to the computer
Where do you even find something like that?
antique shop. There's one that's chocked full of old folding cameras up in Osseo, Wisconsin that I visit whenever I visit my girlfriend up in college. They have an awesome cat that likes to sit on my shoulders whilst I wander around. :v:
My 7D viewfinder is suddenly so depressive to look through now that I've been using the Pentax ME Super for a while :frown:
My 7D viewfinder is suddenly so depressive to look through now that I've been using the Pentax ME Super for a while :frown:
after using the Nikon FE's full-frame view on a 50mm, I feel the same with my D7000 and the same lens. Such a difference
105mm on my 6x7 is equivalent to just over 50mm on 35mm/FF. I feel so confined using anything else. [editline]24th May 2011[/editline] Scrounged up some content to break up all these words. P67 | 105 2.4 | Ektar 100
pardon me if I'm wrong but I don't think he's a bird [editline]25th May 2011[/editline]
My 7D viewfinder is suddenly so depressive to look through now that I've been using the Pentax ME Super for a while :frown:
Yeah the ME Super's viewfinder is huge compared to that scrawny 7D viewfinder. Imagine going from a ME Super to a 350D
you and your puny 35mm viewfinders, I'll stick to my 6x6cm waist level finder :v:

My local processing shot won't scan film with images on the perforations without charging a shit-load of money... :(
use the flatbed scanner at your uni, and do what I described last page :v:
I tried it multiple times, but the scanner wouldn't recognise the negatives. It even had difficulties recognising normal 35mm frames sometimes. Such a pain.
