So I found myself having some free time and enough patience to scan a strip of film with my favorite photo on it, and after removing the scratches (!) and correcting the vignette I found the original scan has that lo-fi charm to it. Now I feel like I killed the charm from the original by removing its ''defects''. I'm not big on lomo shit but at least now I know why those people try to fuck up their photos as much as they can :v: Naufragado, parte tres por sirwilbertthadeus, en Flickr Naufragado ~enhanced~ por sirwilbertthadeus, en Flickr What do you guys think?
It looks like you've lost a lot of sharpness through the edit, I would leave it the way it was.
Yeah the loss of sharpness is very noticable and does detract from the overal image. I also like the framing better in the second one. Getting back that highlight detail is nice though
This is my collection of film cameras: All of them work, though the light meter in the Voigtländer is unfortunately broken. I'll try to publish some photographs later.
Just got one roll of film developed from my trip to Morocco. The last 10 shots on the roll are all overlapping - resulting in some half double exposures... It's nice, but bloody Boots have gone and cut the negs in awful places. Safe to say, I won't be going back there again. A few really nice shots though. Will post them once I get back to Canterbury, process the other negs (at the little independent store) and scan them in. Really, really fucking excited. I barely took any photos on my digital... For some reason, just didn't feel like using it... I think after so many of my film shots from Peru came out nicely, it's really spurred me on into shooting more 35mm. I know I've got some winner shots though, as long as my camera (the old Olympus Om-10 is failing on me) has decided not to be too temperamental I think I'll be happy with the vast majority of images I've taken. Also, shooting people is my favourite thing to do, and they tend to react less when it's a film camera pointed at their face than a fuck-off D7000. Watch this space :)

Well done. You're really on your way in an obvious progression in photography in which you will notice your own improvement very rapidly.
Quick question can any one see my pics because I can't :C [editline]15th January 2012[/editline] Never mind fixed it :P
decided to dedicate a roll to low light (night) photos and only after I use up the roll and find my stuff underexposed do I learn about reciprocity failure one that came out okay

But, from these photos, what makes you think I've got lighting down? Edit: Wait, you aren't being sarcastic, are you?
Not at all mate. Shadows, highlights, contrast etc. look good in the majority of those photos.

Could anyone tell me the possible value of a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 and a 28-90 on the minolta MD mount?
Could anyone tell me the possible value of a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 and a 28-90 on the minolta MD mount?
The minolta MD mount is a horrible mount to adapt to any dslr's (ok, except for the some rokkor lenses like the 58mm 1.2, 58mm 1.4 and 85 1.7), so the only camera's that these will be useable on will be the m4/3's and NEX by means of adapters. The vivitar Series 1 lenses were quite good lenses, but of the 70-210 exist more than 1 version, so stating the apature values would help to determine it's value. The 28-90mm seems to be a great lens as standard zoom, but it's quite bulky as far as i can see on pictures. I would say about 45 usd for the set.
The 70-210 is the first iteration, as far as I can tell by pictures. I also have a Rokkor 28 mm which sounds like it may be worth more?
The 70-210 is the first iteration, as far as I can tell by pictures. I also have a Rokkor 28 mm which sounds like it may be worth more?
The 28mm rokkor is indeed worth more, according to this article about 60 USD.

what kind of places do you guys go to get film processed? It's $5 at walgreens which is a bit meh to me, trying to see if costco or target would be cheaper.

Just started ghetto scanning a roll that I developed myself. Not bad, but I should've sent it to scan at a lab instead of cutting it.
What the, How the? Awesome!
Double exposure. It was a random experiment. I was using a Nikon F3 that has a double exposure feature. I would under expose 1-stop take a photograph, flick the double exposure lever, cock the shutter and shoot a second exposure on the same frame. Quite simple really. You just have to choose your shots well.
