yeah definitely had one of them, but the lenses wouldn't fit my pentax I guess
pretty sure I had it + couple lenses somewhere in the shed
also have a pentax mz-5, which is alright I suppose
yeah guys it's not mine, i have to shoot one roll and then give it up
sorry
Told my mate I would be picking up an Nikon F100 when my next student loan comes in. When I said film he thought filming as in movie making, I linked him a photo of an Ektar 100 roll and he writes: "Is Kodak even around still?"
:[
so my canon FTb doesn't work, battery won't on it for some reason, tried a couple different ones.
but i think my other AE-1P works, i got it to wind and now i just have to develop the roll i shot. hoping for a winner there!
so as it turns out I got 2 olympuses, om1 and om10
also got a bunch of other cameras I wanna mess around with, but film's not exactly cheap...(in the long run, different roll for each camera and shit)
got a roll of ilford fp4 sitting in some homemade parodinal (paracetemol + sodium hydroxide) at a dilution of 1:100, stand developing for an hour. should be interesting.
[editline]14th April 2012[/editline]
pulled them outta the tank, holy shit they're contrasty.
Just took my Pentax, loaded with ilfiord delta 400, with me on an hour long walk. It had 25 shots on it already so I wanted to fill it up. When I got to shot 36, I could keep on shooting as if it wasn't full. So I decided to rewind it and it only took one full turn to get it back in its canister again.
Shit

In other words, you didn't load it correctly?

Yeah I guess so, which is weird because I also advance two frames to make sure it hooks onto the spool.
Oh well

y'know, i've had this Zenit TTL for close to four months now, and I haven't even used it.
the hell is wrong with me.
Send it to me, I could do with a good Zenit TTL
Today seems to be such a nice day (good weather and all) so I decided I would take the minolta to school with me, simply because it's a "longish" trip there and I might be able to take some cool pictures if the weather stays this nice. Should be fun, I only got one roll of film left though. I also need to figure out where to find a place that can develope film for me.
just out of interest, how difficult/easy would it be to get into making your own black and white prints?
The prints themselves aren't that difficult, like BoZoSuku said. The difficult part (well, at least for me) was opening the film canister and loading it onto the film reel in complete darkness, which by the way you should make sure that your film reel actually works! After the film development, it's smooth sailing from there. Good luck!

cool! yeah, i've started looking into getting all the stuff required for developing my own film, and after i get that hopefully stuff for making prints too
should have more free time for all this after exams!

I think secretly every royal family does. I don't know how Leica's are better than other camera but yeah I am deeply into Leicas.

small, reliable, very VERY sturdy, great for wide angle to normal lenses (with external viewfinders), and they make great pieces of glass. their lenses are definitely the best in any class, though some zeisses are similar, but leica is always the benchmarks. they make fast aperture lenses that are still very small, very well built, and have a lot of handmade elements and aspherical elements (they are currently the only manufacturer to make aspherical 50mm lenses right now).
while they are definitely very hyped up cameras, they are great at what they do. probably not worth the price though, zeiss lenses are similar in quality (as well as Cosina Voigtlander) for a tad cheaper.
How much do you guys think a 50mm 1.4 for a k-mount Pentax would cost? US/GBP, any one.

Anywhere from $100 - 200 USD for a SMC Takumar, which is a very nice lens, if the m42 version is anything to go by.

Awesome, thanks dude!
Anyone in the UK after a Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 K-mount?
I sold the camera body but the lens never sold so I'm after offers.
Well, I got my first (two) rolls of 35mm negatives back from developing today. What a fucking disaster.
Partly due to the fact I used cheap, expired (expiry date was 2007-ish, I believe) Kodak colour film and resorted to getting them developed at a god-awful photo processing place- but, christ, I've just had this sudden realisation that I'm an awful photographer.
It must be that increased objectivity in judging shots that comes with not immediately revisiting photos after the shoot- I guess the time lapse ensures you don't form attachments to particular shots. Two weeks later, out of all the gems I believed myself to have taken, there isn't a single photo I can say I'm proud of. Sure is a slap in the face. I'm seriously considering selling my DSLR I've had for the past year or two; the experience has been that disheartening. It sounds rather pitiful to come to such a conclusion from a single bad experience, but looking over those 48(!) shots, it's hard not to.
The fact that there's so much excellent photography going on in this thread only makes the experience more bitter, hah.
tl;dr, shooting film for the first time is an excellent way for digital shooters to objectively judge their own merit as photographers.
Also, don't shoot expired film on your first go. That too.
:suicide:

Exactly. Now you know you have work to do. Don't stop dude. Maybe it's useful to analyze your pictures. Describe what you don't like about them and maybe think about what could've made them better. Maybe a person standing somewhere, maybe a less distracting background, I don't know. Think about it, buy a few new rolls of film and just go out there again. I suggest getting some black and white film so you only have to worry about composition subjects and not about colors. Bad colors can make a picture ugly as hell, eventhough the composition and subject are good.
Some more shizzle

Yeah, I suppose you're right. Cheers mate, you're more optimistic than I am, haha. What B&W film would you recommend picking up? One of the C-41 pseudo-monochrome films or a proper Ilford roll or something? I've never shot B&W before.
Pickwickian, those are brilliant shots. I really like the second to last photo.
