The Galaxy i9000 has a lightmeter. I'll try that!
Here's a few of my roll of medium format kodak portra 400 film: It's amazing to see how much detail medium format can capture. These were mostly just to shoot a roll to see if the camera still worked so all were just testshots so I could get them developed.

What kind of film is that?
What kind of film is that?
I used Kodak Ektar 100 and Superia 200 I believe
What are you people scanning with?
I use an Epson V300. A few people around here use a V500. You could also use an Epson V4490 which I've heard decent stories about. They're a bit older but will do the job.
Yeah standard issue 'round these parts is the V300/V500. I've owned and used both for negatives and they definitely work well enough for me. In all honesty they do pretty much the same job, the v500 being able to scan medium format.
I need to order a tray for my v500, but they are like $20. I'm nervous because the scanner seems finnicky and does bizzare things sometimes. But scanning 4x6's is proving to be painful
What is a good price for a V500 in the UK, I can find them new for about 150 quid?
Getting into film photography w/ an analog photography class at my school. Started out with Camera Obscuras, AKA shoebox cameras. I was the only one who got anything to turn out c:
Just got another roll developed and I'm a little more happy with the results this time. I really like those a lot dude. They're all great but I love how the lights falls onto the man in the second picture.
No joke that middle one is ace, contrast lovely, reads well - would expect this shot from a professional.
would expect this shot from a professional.
A good portion professionals are not as competent as the title suggests! Any idiot can charge other idiots and by definition be a professional. But yes, that's a really, really nice shot.
That middle one somehow let's me think about mirrors edge. Those colours are so matching to that game.
A good portion professionals are not as competent as the title suggests! Any idiot can charge other idiots and by definition be a professional.
indeed considering that even I managed to get paid for some (pretty awful) photos, "professional" by itself doesn't mean much
indeed considering that even I managed to get paid for some (pretty awful) photos, "professional" by itself doesn't mean much
I've heard that the distinction of "professional" falls basically only on those who make the entirety of their income from and support themselves with photography.
I've heard that the distinction of "professional" falls basically only on those who make the entirety of their income from and support themselves with photography.
By definition, that's what makes someone a professional as photography is their profession. Professionals can actually be pretty bad photographers but still make a living off it, just like an enthusiast who takes photos as a hobby can be quite excellent but not make money off it.
Hey all, I think this is my first post in the photography section in FP. I have been reading many of the posts, you guys are very friendly :D. So I bought a Canon AE-1 Program last night! My first film camera, I am switching from digital. I am very excited, I got it off ebay and it came with two lenses. One is the Canon FD 50mm 1.8SC and the other Canon FD 28mm 2.8SC. I got it all for $110. Any suggestions on what brand of film I should get (preferably ISO 100-200) and where is a good place to buy 4LR44 6V batteries? Also I need help trying to decide between two scanners, the Canon 9000F or Epson V600 they are both similar in price on amazon. Anyways sorry for the long post. (P.S. Will share first roll :) )

I see you also purchased two prime lenses, very nice for practicing your framing, should also prove to be more challenging when practicing some aspects of composition. As for film, Kodak Portra is extremely nice in my opinion, though, a bit pricey, and in a higher range of iso. http://www.adorama.com/KKP40036PP.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Shopping%20Site&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=dealtime As for b/w film, I usually just shoot for the Kodak Black and White, it's cheaper, a lot easier to find, and nice quality for it's price in my opinion. However, Ilford makes a really nice b/w film, and it's not too expensive either. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/35mm-Film/ci/9167/N/4232858854 As for the 4LR44 6V batteries, I'm not entirely too sure. My best bet would be just to check Amazon or eBay, perhaps your local Walmart or large supermarket may carry them? As for the scanners, I don't know too much of them, but based off what I just read, perhaps the Canon? It seems to scan at a higher resolution, slightly cheaper, and works just the same as the Epson. Anyhow, hope I was any help to you, good luck, look forward to seeing your first roll.
I think you'll find you are looking for 4x LR44 batteries which are 1.5 volt each and you can buy them in any daft amount from packs of 10s to 100s for very little money on ebay. Sorry it does seem I'm wrong.
The AE-1P doesn't take those kind of batteries. It takes a 6 volt L1325 Such as http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001PUR160

Finally got myself a TLR, been looking for one since March this year. It's a Yashicaflex A-I with a 80mm f/3.5 lens, really excited to shoot this thing, extremely happy to move into medium format. DSC_0036 by Yokim-Pillay, on Flickr
I finally used my Voigtlander Bessa folder the other day, with some TMax 100. I will be wondering whats on that film for a long time.
