heh, it's been sitting on the floor of my bedroom for the last 6 months, it's not in any great demand.

well, I'll open it up, anyone who legitimately wants it can tell me so in this thread, sold for $50 incl shipping to whoever puts money into my paypal first paypal@haslehurst.net
Is it the same as the model you already have?
I posted a lonk to it up a few posts. I think this was a proffessional scanner 10 years ago (it's specs are better than my current scanner). I still have to plug it in and do some test scans, I'll try both some negatives where the exposure is dead on, and some where it is totally fucked.

That is awesome!
By the way, if I were to buy that scanner, $50 wouldn't quite cover the cost of shipping. According to http://auspost.com.au shipping to the US cost $51 for a 3kg package.
Gonna see if I can did out my dads old Fujica 35mm SLR. Used to use it when I was really young and knew nothing about photography so all of my shots were shite, but now I would actually know what to do.. Plus I have film scanners and all so I can get shots up pretty easily.

Princes Street Gardens - excellent shot.
So I found these two film cameras laying around the house.
This Kodak seems ancient and a little brittle. I doubt it works.

I just use standard fuji film of kodak, whatever is lying around. I also got some Lomo brand film and I like it a lot. Its always good to get your film developed at a local photo lab, to suport local bisnuses, and also what I have noticed is that the quality of scans and color quality is much higher at the local places rather than the pharmicy or costco. (word of warning: Walgreens WILL leave out photos they think are "too damaged", which sometimes includes photos you like, like half frame shots and end of roll shots.)
For keeping your camera in good condition, it simple and probably what yo wold think, keep the lens cap on when not in use, use the wist or neck strap, don't get it too wet, dust it off occasionally, don't leave the back open too long, you'll get dust in there.
and for the kodak, find out what film it takes and buy the cheapest roll you can for it. test it out, and if the shots are all messed up, like all white or black, take it to a camera repair place. I don't recommend fixing it yourself if its broken.
I still have some pictures to post here.
Maybe some people have already seen them on my flickr, but i'll show them here too though.
These pictures were made with my Canon F-1 with all the FD lenses i got.
The film i used is in the description of the picture.
So here are they:

Damn i do feel like spamming stuff now, but they're all different pictures.
Please let me know which pictures you like :)
Frag you have a good eye for framing. Love the building shots
Actually, if we talk about subject some of those are just as good as the guy that posted recently with his first photos taken on auto mode with a d5100 and the kit lens, and some others remind me of cueball.
If you want to improve on that you may want to limit yourself to using a single prime for a whole shooting session/roll of film, and consider that if you absolutely need shallow DoF -specially outdoors- to make a photo look good or interesting, then your subject wasn't very good in the first place. Make sure bokeh complements the subject, not viceversa.

Processing film is so expensive where I live. It's like $10 for a roll of 24 exposures. Otherwise I would try and fix up my Canon AE-1, but maybe I should do that anyways.
Wow that is really expensive, for me it costs 3,50 euros per roll of film, no matter what kind it is, or how many exposures.
They don't even process most types of film lol. I bought my girlfriend Kodak Pro black and white film for Valentine's Day, and we were told it was "too nice to process", so now she has 4 rolls of expensive film she can't do anything with.

Over here it's 0.6€ to develop + 5.6€ to scan 36 exposures.

Well that's dirt cheap.
Are there still a lot of people using film over there or somehting like that?
There has to be a reason why it's so cheap.
Here it's £6 to develop+scan and you get a free roll of film.
[editline]5th June 2011[/editline]
Not sure if my local Jessops is still doing the free film thing though.

They don't even give us free film if they mess up the roll.
I found a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that was long forgotten up in a kitchen cabinet. I'm cleaning the battery acid off the compartment right now. It's really got me interested in setting up a dark room, but I need to find space for it.
Just shot two whole rolls with my Miranda Automex and these were the only shots that showed up. Kind of sad, but impressed at the same time.

Seeing as this thing isn't working properly, I'm hoping to find another 35mm that will shoot with the same kind of quality and processing. Can anyone recommend anything?
I'm also selling the camera on eBay if anyone's interested:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/?ViewItem&item=180677687465
The camera itself has little to do with how the processing/color/quality/etc turns out. Think of the camera body as being in charge of opening and closing the 'blinds'. The real work is done with the lens and the film you 'record' on. Shoot that same film in the same light with a similar lens on virtually any SLR and you will get very similar results. Find yourself an older SLR with a fast (2.0 or larger) 50mm. You'll be good to get similar images.
Canon A1 or Nikon FE are good platforms to start looking at.
