i guess you could go for a mamiya C series TLR, they have a separate prism attachment which goes over the focusing screen and lets you use it almost like an slr
Those prism finders suck. Although maybe I'm biased.
Went to the Flea market. Bought a cheap camcorder fisheye lens with a 49mm thread adapter on it and a T70 for $20.

The lens I don't really think I can use. The only thing I could make it work on was a 50mm and the results were poor. I don't have any other ring adapters around to try it on anything else I have The T70 on the other hand is a nice upgrade from the AE-1. That auto winder is so nice. The downside is the "down" button is stuck so the ISO is jammed at 1250.
My mate has one of them, he loves it! although im not a fan of the auto film winding process etc.. in other news, getting two, maybe three, rolls developed tomorrow! :D
the t70 and the t80 are the film cameras i use the most! fd mount lenses are really cheap to buy which is great
Just got my first two rolls of film back. Very strange feeling after getting the habit of shooting a lot of shots digital and then sorting them out afterwards. I have no way to scan them yet though.
Does using a VERY high res scanner work? Experiences?
I get mine scanned at the local ASDA, im not that fussed for super hi-res and they do the job quite well:)

Wasn't sure whether to put this here or in gear disscussion, but I'm thinking about buying a cheap (no more than £30 inc lens) 35mm SLR from Ebay. Any suggestions? What should I be looking for? I'm perfectly happy to live without Auto Focus.

the canon ae-1 program is a great starter camera, that's what i would recommend. they go for decent prices, and are easy to work with because it has all automated modes

This or a Pentax ME or ME Super
I started with a Carena CX-300 with a broken lightmeter and I turned out fine, metering isn't that hard to do tbh.. on my 50mm lens I usually use: f/1.9 and either 1/125 in evenings/darkened rooms, f/4 and 1/125 in regular indoor light and f/11 and 1/500 or f/16 and 1/250 in broad daylight. I never shoot at night and always remember the sunny 16 rule and you should be alright :)
Hi, long time since I have been on this thread but I have recently gone back to film. I was wondering if ten quid is a lot to get film developed and would it be cheaper if I developed it myself?
You'll find that black and white development is more expensive than colour, so that could be cheaper to do yourself, and colour development is fairly expensive to do yourself and requires a lot more precision with temperatures and time
Man my local airport are so lenient with films. Usually I have to argue about getting my films hand checked or it takes a few minutes for them to check it. But here they just look at it and let it pass.
Just got a Canon EOS 300 for twenty quid. :3
I got a Canon EOS 3000N and I absolutely love it to bits

Guys got my Canon EOS 300 in good condition. :D However it ran out of batteries on the first night and I left it on lock (off) and when I woke up it was nearly out of batteries, do you know why by any chance?
Edit: Never mind, seems like putting in a new battery made it go longer for one day so hopefully its not faulty.
found a canon ae-1 at a thrift store with a 50mm canon lens, a 35-75mm toyo optics lens, and an amazing case for $40.
got it as a christmas present for the my girlfriend, i did some test shots to see if there were leaks or anything, its gonna be hard to let go heh
what film are you using?
I honestly don't remember, I have a pile of film in my camera case and just grabbed one, I know it was 200iso And it might have been Polaroid or something, I'll go look if I can find another one in my case.
if you can, let me know, please. the colors look superb; specifically the skin-tones.

I really like this mate.
I think I have never posted in this sub-forum before, but let's not make a number out of that, here are some varied film shots by me. Quality has suffered a bit in the scanning and uploading process, so forgive that.

Canon FTb QL w/ 24mm f/2.8 optics and Fujifilm Superia 400
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1BZfu[/img_thumb]
Minolta SRT 101 w/ 50mm f/1.8 and some random ISO 200 film. Not a perfect scan but whatever.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1BZfG[/img_thumb]
Same Minolta and optics with 400 B/W film.
