Well that's dirt cheap.
Are there still a lot of people using film over there or somehting like that?
There has to be a reason why it's so cheap.
You see, we are pretty poor over here in Lithuania, so that's not really dirt cheap for us.
Thanks man, that was very helpful. :D
no prob.
I just realized it had a bunch of bad spelling errors, so thats kinda embarrassing.
So there's this Eagles concert I might go to, but they're not allowing professional (Large) camera gear, but the website says smaller and compact cameras are some times allowed (depending on artist), so I was thinking I should try to bring my Pentax ME Super.
Honestly the only compact I have is utter shit, but I suppose it would have to do if I can't get my Pentax in :/

I can slip my ME Super in the big pocket of my jacket so you might too. Beats having a compact camera with you
get a pentax pancake
Just bought myself a Practika MTL 50! Very excited. It even came with it's original case, strap and manual.
The Minolta seems to be working pretty good, I'm gonna use up a roll tomorrow around town and see how it shoots. I hope the pictures come out good, I'm wanting to take it to NYC with me next week.
I got my color slide film back today! I looked at it at the photo store on their light table with a loupe and the photos came out nicely (especially for not having a light-meter). I'm getting a film scanner probably next weekend (Minolta diMAGE Elite, forget which specific model) for $100.
I can't find any places in Vancouver anymore that sell developing chemicals for Kodak color film. There was a place in Kerrisdale I got my last batch from but they stopped selling it now.
I'm also getting pissed off to no end that I still can't find the film strip adapter for my Nikon scanner. All I got is the slide adapter and it's a
B I T C H to cut up all my negatives and scan them one at a time so I'm forced to use the ugly polaroid scanner which takes up a bunch of the desk.

Just bought a Canon AE-1 with a Panagor 80-200 lens or about 23 euros. Will be here tomorrow I think.
A pretty cheap steal if I say so myself

And yes, i know i obsess with gear too much, but this was just a nice deal i could make.
Please don't judge me on my gear obsession, i like it this way
Yeah I did. What did you pay for those lenses?
Yeah I did. What did you pay for those lenses?
It's in the post, 150 euros ;)
I think it's worth it because only the FD 28/2.0 goes for way more than 200 euros.
I hope your AE-1 is still in good condition, maybe you'll need to replace the seals. (i used to own one when i first got my F-1, and i sold like 5 of them immediatly when i got them in a lot i bought).
And hopefully the shutter doesn't drag (makes peeping noise); because if it does that it's done for.

Ah I see now, missed it :)
And he said it was in good working condition with normal wear and tear

Woop woop.
Pentax ME Super / 50mm f/2.0 (Manual version) - Kodak Ultramax 400
All SOOC.
I love that camera so much.
I found old Yashica MF-2 from our house and got really interested about it. Does anybody know what kind of film It uses?
I found old Yashica MF-2 from our house and got really interested about it. Does anybody know what kind of film It uses?
It just uses standard 35mm film :)
I went to the local camera store for the first time yesterday. It was really cool, the guys there got all the stuff I needed for my camera, gave me tips on how not to die when I go to New York, and developed my film for only $2.
those are some nice shots bopie. Maybe not all very interesting subject wise, but the colors are great
Quick noob question about film - if you have 400 film, what happens if you shoot at a lower or higher ISO than the film?
It will be under/over exposed.
Ahh, thanks!
Actually, with film's exposure latitude, and depending on the type of film you are using, under/overexposing by a stop or two but developing normally causes effects like saturation increase/decrease, different colors, contrast etc.

Experiment a bit, google it and see if you can try it on something not too cheap like Kodak Gold afterwards.
Sorry if this is a repeat, but what are good, cheap scanners that can scan negatives, preferably under $100?
Sorry if this is a repeat, but what are good, cheap scanners that can scan negatives, preferably under $100?
Again, "good" and "cheap" can not fit in the same sentence.
Sorry if this is a repeat, but what are good, cheap scanners that can scan negatives, preferably under $100?
The one that I would recommend is the Epson V500, that goes for about $200-$300 (after shipping, etc). Spend much less and all you get is a shitty scanner that can in no way do your negatives justice.
Alternatively setting up some sort of lightbox + macro lens rig with your DSLR could work, Dai posted some photos of his setup a few pages back.

It only changes the light meter, doesn't change how the film comes out.
It only changes the light meter, doesn't change how the film comes out.
it comes out over/underexposed if you're letting the metering judge your shutter speed for the wrong ISO. If you're using manual controls and know what your shutter/aperture should be at anyways, it doesn't affect the film at all.
I actually do that on purpose. If I have 160 ISO film, I set the camera's meter to 100. that way i get a plus '60' exposure. Makes it easier to control the shutter and aperture without having to calculate what kind of increases I'd need.
