Being in sports =/= having one of the city's most prestigious coaches as a father, on top of years of experience and university education on fitness.
Your shoulders are stabilizer muscles during bench press, as are your biceps and rest of the arm. You're also supposed to arc your back when benching (a lot of people mistake this and raise their ass off the bench, which is wrong), the only things that should be touching the bench are your ass and shoulders. This makes your core and legs serve as a stabilizer.
I'm not saying dead lifts don't work anything, I'm just saying that they don't work nearly as much as the core lifts (bench, squats, and power cleans) do.
You win this one without sources, mostly because I'm willing to admit I really don't know all too much of what I'm working when I lift. I know I'm using proper form though, because my history teacher taught me how to do all of my lifts and he's also a fitness coach. Deadlifts sure feel like I work a lot more than BP though, maybe just because I don't feel stabilizer muscles working near as much.
~Great Advice~
This is great advice, it's just the problem with the whole "limited to my room" thing. I mean, I could do this stuff, I just don't have the weights. How much does a set of dumbbells go for on average?

So you wanna be genetically superior, BE THE ALPHA and get them bitches!?! I got some mad juice you can have! Also do 200 crunches, 150 situps and 300 pushups everyday!
Stay alpha, bro.
Push ups (lots of types also), crunches, L-seat, hand stand, hand stand out of L seat, statical position, lying on your belly and lifting arms & feet (straight), pull ups are all stuff that you can do at home and some are incredibly intensive
I heard if you let bee's sting your arms a ton your arms will swell up giving you the appearance of being a strong individual.
Its funny how VQ35HR keeps rating MaverickIB dumb.
Dont forget to do core strengthening exercise, for starters try holding the Plank for as long as you can every day.

What sorts of push up variants are you talking about? All I know of is the normal one, and then where you put your hands right together on the floor.
Also: I can do about 75 Pushups in a go. I do 25, hold a plank for 10 seconds, 25 more, etc.
Is that average for someone starting out? Good? Bad?
There is other stuff I add to it, sit ups, pull ups, supermans, I was just wondering about the pushups atm.

BPM during workout is 132. Medical sites say it's good for 18 y/o.

for someone who has this apparently prestigious father, you sure don't know very much
oh and I did swimming on a national level so :)
really, the work your shoulders/triceps/biceps do in bench is NOTHING compared to the workout your forearms/biceps/shoulders get in deadlifts, dude you cannot win this argument what you are saying is bullshit
Less flaming please? You're scaring the children :ohdear:
put socks under your shirt sleeves, get her in bed, then actually get ripped by having frequent sex

Parkour.
Got me in shape very fast.

I fucking love Parkour.
Most Fun/Best Session I've had was at King's Crossing in Hawaii. Me and a few friends went there on a band trip, and we decided to do that in the meantime. :D
When you boil it down, if a girl has a choice between a smart, funny, charming guy who's in good shape, and a smart, funny, charming guy who's poogy and misshapen, there's never going to be a contest. Being charming and kind is great for making girl friends, but not often enough by itself to make girlfriends.
Thank you for pointing out the painfully obvious. I have a girlfriend, and i'm kinda puggy(not like your ava, but still).
You see, all the 'good shape charming guys' at my school are more into rap and gangs than anything else.

I really don't see the appeal of parkour.
Isn't it essentially just leaping over things?

Just do both, fuck.

Okay, so girls who don't want to get mixed up in gangs are willing to settle for a poogy alternative. I'll start advising very ugly people to wear shirts that say, "At least I'm not in a gang!"
Swimming.
Swimming makes your arms flappy and nasty. Seriously.
If you want to get in shape, swimming is incredible. Does wonders for your cardio.
However, if you want to bulk up, swimming isn't a good exercise to rely on. Sure, it wouldn't hurt to do it every once in a while, but you won't get large and ripped from swimming, simply because muscle doesn't float. If you constantly swim, your body is going to keep some fat on you just so it can move through the water easier.
There's a reason why you don't see big bulky dudes swimming in the Olympics. Guys like that sink like rocks in water.
If you want a chick with a nice body, then it's obvious that you want your body around the same standards as theirs. There are exceptions, but it doesn't work against you to be a little athletic. In general (normal distribution) most couples are on the same 'level' of beauty. Thus improving your physique only increases your chance to get a "prettier" girl (and I guess that's what the OP is aiming for...)

Place your hands very wide for more chest training (like this one a lot), there's also a variant that trains purely your triceps, can't really describe it.
I say get a shake weight.
Eat Beans n red Meat. Part Time Manual Labor, Builds muscles and earns you moneh.

You would think, but once you get moving it's really "liberating" I guess. You just feel like nothing can stop you (Without sounding like a middle school guidance counselor).

Exactly what I was thinking. Fit women are into fit men, and only way to get with fit women is being fit. Or alcohol.
ALSO:
My real post. After three days of working out my abs and shoulders are sore as hell. Is there any way to fix this? I'm thinking it's just the "Dehydration" thing.
I wonder what a regime of swimming combined with intense full bodybuilding would do.
And all you do is raising your own level which means that there become a lot more chicks available. Just be sure to spec right otherwise you gotta pay gold to respec

And I'm shit for gold, so I really hope I'm speccing right.
