I don't think video chats will ever become popular.

Compared to 2000 buildings, these could/would look funny and futuristic.[/QUOTE]
Just letting you know, construction and design of the Burj Al Arab began in 1994 and opened in 1999.

Made in 1979. I just found it sitting on my shelf.
Apparently the 2020 Olympics will be on the fucking moon!
EDIT: Actually, after reading a bit more into this book, their thinking seems pretty reasonable. Some predictions include:
-Larger, flat screen televisions, with surround sound.
-Electronic cameras, which require no film.
-The ability to record and rewatch television shows and films.
-Simple domestic robots.
-Mail being sent in electronic form.
-3D printers.
-Electronic voting.
-The world population stabilizing between 6-7 billion people.
Then again, they also think that the 1980's will usher in an era of development in clean energy (Wind and solar in particular) as well as various environmental cleanups and sea and underwater cities.
Hehe I have this book in my shelf by my bed
