Then just hang up
Boo-fucking hoo. Quit trashing India, you spoiled American brat. I live in NY, my standards are high as fuck, but even I have respect for impoverished nations, and see the beauty of them when I visit them. Granted, I come from no slumdog family, so I can never relate to you, since you actually had to work there, but c'mon, man. It seems that the only reason you find India unbearable is because you made it unbearable. Start looking at the positives, there many hippie/new age/spiritual seekers that would love to go through what you are going. Yeah, they are morons, but they raise a point about developing character and self virtue. Instead of escaping from the prison, you call India, try escaping the prison you daddy calls your lazy, obnoxious attitude. Just because you can get out of India, doesn't mean you learned your lesson.
To be honest, I agree with the fact that people should not "trash" third/second world countries, but I believe that the OP isn't doing that. I guarantee that if you yourself were placed in the exact same position you would not be able to bear it and begin to hate the area you are in, wishing that you could go back home. I can't relate to the OP at all since my whole family is chill, but neither can you.
So quit bashing on the OP, as you clearly don't have any sense as to what being sent away from your home is like.
Wow, that was fucked up of your dad. Sending your children away isn't the answer.
http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/children/abuse/abuse_neglect.shtml
Neglect
Neglect is the most common form of abuse seen and may have long-term effects. Neglect is failing to provide adequate food, clothing, shelter, supervision or medical care. Parents must provide adequate supervision, care, guidance and protection to keep children from physical or mental harm.
Having failed to provide virtually any of the preceding, he has violated a serious law. This isn't a "lesson" this is child abuse.
If you wish to return to the states, I'd suggest locating the American embassy and explaining the situation. This won't necessarily get you back immediately, but it may benefit you in some fashion. You are (presumably) a citizen and a minor, embassies don't generally leave you completely high and dry.
Otherwise I'd suggest returning to the states, locating a good civil attorney, explaining the situation to him, and they may accept the case with payment based on actually winning the case as well as the amount awarded. Then I would sue your father for child support, child support for when you were in India, and whatever else the attorney can figure out. If it were me, I'd also have his ass sent to fucking jail for child abuse, but that is a legal case, not a civil one.
We have these laws for a reason. Parents cannot kick their children out for being lazy. Children make mistakes and have no fucking idea how the world works. You stick with it and fix whatever you fucked up by being a massive failure as a parent.
Gah, the support for your father's actions disgusts me.
When you make it back to Portland I suggest you look into the YES! program to get back onto your feet. I went through it a while ago and they payed for all the GED tests and gave me a waiver for 12 free credits worth of classes at PCC(about a term's worth).
[editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
The GED is piss fucking easy, most people could of done it while in middle school.

Do this.
I'm not sure, but might it be cheaper to get a train or something out of India and from there hop on a plane?
Or maybe to get a flight to a European country and from there go to America?
edit
Just did a quick search and found out a flight Netherlands -> America is €343,- at its cheapest
Netherlands -> India is about €458,- cheapest, don't know the other way around.
If you ever decide to leave, don't go back to the U.S.A.Go to Netherlands or Switzerland

VOID: He's broke. And plus, I need to keep in mind my other siblings. I know he's fucked me over, hard. But I need to look out for the other(s) of ma gene pool, ya dig? I've got a shit job, it's paying enough for a flight by may or so, so that's somewhat of a relief, I suppose.
While it is a bit extreme, I think his dad is pretty smart.
If you fuck up in school/life, you're going to end up impoverished and living in some shithole. Your dad sent you to India so you can see what it's like to live in a shithole, hoping it gets you to change your mind about school and whatnot.
Like I said, it's extreme, but it works. It's the equivalent of taking some stupid ass kid that says "hurr school is for losers I'm just gonna be an artist/musician lol" and throwing them in some piece of shit ghetto where they have to fend for themselves. Life is a lot harder than most adolescents realize; I think that's the message the OP's dad is trying to instill into him.

DEL to PDX. Google it, it's not a short distance...
As awful as that sounds, it also seem kind of liberating! You've been thrown into the fire of adulthood and you're learning how to survive in that world in an entirely new place, free to build a brand new identity for yourself, and to reflect on the kind of person you truly want to be. I'm certain that, for the moment, this is a very unpleasant experience, but if you look at the bright side of things you might start to be more comfortable with your environment, or even possibly to enjoy and be thankful for the opportunity!
Or you might not. Hell, what do I know? From the outside this looks like a grand opportunity to discover yourself, but on the inside it's probably considerably more unpleasant than that.
this almost makes me wish I could do something like this... but less extreme.
maybe live homeless in the nearest city for a few days...

Last I checked, Oregon is a state which will garnish wages for child/spousal support.
Spousal and Child support are also among the only debt that you can never bankrupt away. They will follow you forever.
Nothing says you have to use the money on yourself. You can just as easily spend the money directly on your siblings. Once you have a job stateside, assuming you have any sort of additional cash (Which granted will be unlikely, but it will be more likely than continuing to work in India), you can spend it directly on them and improve the quality of their life.

Ah, thanks I thought India to America was within walking distance. :downs:
All I'm saying is it might be cheaper to take a train/flight to another country where air travel is cheaper, breaking up the trip into 2 potentially cheaper bits.
Wow, and I thought it sucked when my dad took away my computer for a week. Your dad is hardcore.
haha my parents never really punished me when I was younger, most I ever got was a slap on the hand. Would suck if one day they were like Hey! your going to Honduras!
Stay there for some years and then come back to your home without telling your dad/family.
Fuck it, live in India. Funny that we're from the same place, albeit I'm in Salem.

I actually could if I wanted to... Training or so to speak. After 8 - 9 months of partying with them I could head to ESPN/Nascar. I won't even have to bother about anything because the skills would speak for themselves. I can tell this place is already for the better. I have nothing but a positive outlook on life now.
I'm going to Mumbai in a few weeks, any advice?
