You personally should never feel stunted in having a different emotional kit then other's, your advice comes across as sagely wisdom because it's unfettered by major emotional thinking. Thank you for the clarity you provided to me, and to this hazy subforum
Mutual gratitude is the true state of bliss.
i hate my dad.
It's a natural part of life to experience parental conflict, perspective through time changes everything.
If they appear as flickering clouds of static/dots I urge you to stay away from Fluoxetine (also known by the tradenames Prozac, Sarafem, Fontex, among others). I was medicated with Fluoxetine for four days and am still suffering from severe static or visual snow as it's also called. That was almost 6 years ago.
I think that's an anti-depressant? I usually stay away from pills unless their needed for injury, not mental issues, but thanks man!
I think that's an anti-depressant? I usually stay away from pills unless their needed for injury, not mental issues, but thanks man!
It's classified as an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor) type of anti-depressant, yes.
i hate my dad.
I feel like a good portion of people on the Internet (myself included) either hate their dad or don't have a dad.
Hate is such a strong word.
I'm trying shrooms for the first time. I feel so weiiiiird, I"m also baking.
Baking on shrooms eh? I've never done shrooms but I'd like to hear how this turns out.
I still haven't listened to Random Access Memories. am i a bad person? [editline]7th June 2013[/editline]
Baking on shrooms eh? I've never done shrooms but I'd like to hear how this turns out.
i personally didnt like shrooms but different strokes i guess ive only done them twice though, once was barely a gram and the second time was 7g theyre fun and all but they taste like shit and they only last like 4 hours, i prefer me a good 12 hour + psychedelic trip, guess 2c-p spoiled me
Baking on shrooms eh? I've never done shrooms but I'd like to hear how this turns out.
I am not lying when I say some of the most stereotypical kaleidoscope patterns you would see in a trippy video really exist when on shrooms. I'm tripping the fuck out.
Hate is such a strong word.
I'm going to emphasize my state of agreement with this statement by quoting it. Man I feel great. Alpha-MethylPhenetylamine is the elixir of pleasure.
Hey folks. School's out, and i'm back at my parent's house with a surround monitor set up. I'd be enjoying it all if I weren't so sick. Good to be posting here again, y'all are the kindest.
daayum jwj what did you do :v:

[editline]7th June 2013[/editline] i can actually make things simply disappear from my field of vision if i stare at them long enough a certain way. [editline]7th June 2013[/editline] i can actually make things simply disappear from my field of vision if i stare at them long enough a certain way.
I have a theory to why individuals experience visual snow. When a photosensitive ganglion cell gets exposed to light, it sends a signal to the hypothalamus regulating the neurochemical synthesis of hormones that affects the circadian rhythm, like Serotonin and Melatonin. Basically chemicals that tell the body when to sleep and when to open/close the retina. If then hypothetically a pharmacological agent overstimulates a receptor that regulates this area, like Fluoxetine, and creates a neurosynaptic irregularity, the retinohypothalamic tract may start to stimulate this created irregularity, thus creating the illusion of dots blocking the vision. It's at least a hypothesis.
bet you end up tripping balls and forgetting all about the imaginarium
I probably will for a fair bit of time (in fact, I hope I do for a while), but the idea is that we construct very comfortable, safe, warm feeling places for our trips so hopefully we won't freak out. It's a safe place to go back to, y'know. Worked really well last time with The Fortress of Feels. We spent forever in that place (metaphorically and... well, from our tripping perspective, literally :v:) We built a solar system in there and it was absolutely fantastic.
no no no no. it's not an illusion, it's already there.
Then what is visual snow, do you propose? I'm not talking about floaters.
I went out with a friend last night to a wilderness reserve, smoked a joint with him, and then listened to Sigur Ros sitting out in the middle of nowhere [sp]then we made out[/sp] I'm so happy right now.
Then what is visual snow, do you propose? I'm not talking about floaters.
i don't know for sure but i heard something about white blood cells.

well considering your eyes are packed with blood vessels, lots of which are actually in your field of view inside your eyeball... it's not that bad an explanation.
well considering your eyes are packed with blood vessels, lots of which are actually in your field of view inside your eyeball... it's not that bad an explanation.
I'm not questioning your logic, I'm just contemplating my own understanding of the retinohypothalamic tract and its association to the hypothalamus.

1. That unpleasant feeling when I realize I've been listening to the same song on repeat for 15 hours straight. 2. That blissful feeling when I put a new song on repeat. 3. Go to 1. My usual listening habits while tweaking. I've not accepted, but grown tolerant to this behavior.
1. That unpleasant feeling when I realize I've been listening to the same song on repeat for 15 hours straight.
it's less unpleasant for me and just awesome realizing that i can actually change what i'm listening to
it's less unpleasant for me and just awesome realizing that i can actually change what i'm listening to
That's step 2 for me, during the long hours of repeating a song in the background I feel this unidentified source of negative emotion surging through my body, not even realizing that it's the repetition that causes it. That's the agony.
i don't know for sure but i heard something about white blood cells.
That is a type of floater, which is an entirely different phenomenon than visual static/snow. A multitude of causes have been identified for visual snow but most of those causes are external events. A lot of people, myself included, experience visual snow for no apparent reason. I've had it all my life. I am myopic, though I doubt it is related. I think it's just the result of imperfect transmission of information received by cells from the retinal cells through the optic nerve to the visual cortex, but that's just one rather baseless hypothesis.
I swear bugs can get high. I blew smoke on the bug that kept hanging around my monitor, and it hopped down. Then it sat on my keyboard looking at me for a good 5 minutes, even letting me touch it until hit jumped on my shoulder. I think I've made a new friend.

Bug tries to eat weed, gets stoned off its ass, becomes way too sedated to cause significant damage to the plant.
