In Battlestar Galactica when [sp]Tigh kills his wife after finding out she was giving information to the Cylons. Then, when he returns to Galactica and Adama tells him he saved the people on New Caprica, he weakly replies "Not all of them.", then wanders off, broken, while the rest of the fleet celebrates around Adama. That definitely hit me hard.[/sp]
Fucking hell BSG has such a mix of tragedy, awesomeness, happiness and suffering. My favourite show for that reason.
I feel like I'm cheating because it came out so soon, and to call it the "saddest" might be premature, but How To Train Your Dragon 2 [sp]hit me like a ton of bricks. Holy crap, in just the few scenes they had between Stoick and Valka, I was tearing up. Stoick's death and funeral to top it all off was so damn heart-wrenching, especially considering the particular song played out as his boat was sent out was "For The Dancing and the Dreaming", the wedding song he had sung to Valka after reuniting with her for the first time in 20 years. Fuck, man. it reminded me of the sacrifices my own Dad made for me, and I damn well cried. Just wish they didn't so quickly change the pace from somber funeral to OMG BABY DRAGONS SO CUTE YAY. That was a little jarring.[/sp]
grave of the fireflies
It was a comedy they said, it would be funny they said. This movie literally brought me to tears when I first watched it many years ago and thought it would be a comedy. God damnit
I've said so in one of these threads before and I'll say so again: God damn Plague Dogs. I went into the movie knowing full well it would be sad; I did not predict, however, that I'd wind up crying for 5 minutes straight after viewing it. Only movie that's ever done that, although one that came close that is definitely sad would have to be The Killing Fields
Last episode of Six Feet Under. .... Also, Marley & Me. Stupid Marley & Me is the WORST.
The Room with Tommy Wiseau, we never find out what happens with his wife's cancer.
Broen

Requiem for a dream got me
Saving Private Ryan gets me three times every time. 1. Wade's story in the church about his mother. 2. [sp]Wade's death, especially when he starts calling for his mother.[/sp] 3. [sp]Old Ryan with his family at Miller's grave asking if he was a good man.[/sp] Also, Schindler's List gets me with the ending.
It was a comedy they said, it would be funny they said. This movie literally brought me to tears when I first watched it many years ago and thought it would be a comedy. God damnit
That and this one is powerful too: [t]http://www.filmbudget.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/reignoverme2dfront-1-copy.jpeg[/t] It had a nice bits of comedy but holy shit would it grab by the feelings and throw you around like a wet paper towel.
The scene from train spotting where they [sp]find the girls baby dead in the crib[/sp]
That one episode of Stargate Atlantis where [sp]Carson Beckett died[/sp]
The episode of SG-1 where [sp]Dr. Frasier[/sp] dies is pretty damn sad as well.
Requiem for a dream got me
This, and then few more.
It was a comedy they said, it would be funny they said. This movie literally brought me to tears when I first watched it many years ago and thought it would be a comedy. God damnit
I fucking hate bullshit like this so many Hollywood comedies always have this part in the movie where is all serious and sad and stuff ( very few don't do this or at very least do it well. ) and I thought I was meant to watch something funny not sad.
The Room with Tommy Wiseau, we never find out what happens with his wife's cancer.
The saddest part of that movie for me is when the viewer decides and sit down to watch it.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind made me depressed as fuck. I feel kinda gay for saying that.
Saddest scene of all times. The guy lost his sight in war and rehearsed the talk before finally meeting the girl whom he loved for the last time. The girl didn't know he was blind. Things didn't go as planned.
Millennium Actress Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Falling Down The ending always gets me.
I almost forgot this one. The scene where [sp]he watches his family's old home videos[/sp] always gets me. Also most films in which a dog dies.
the end of donnie darko
Confessions. The film itself isn't exactly sad, it feels pretty detatched, but the soundtrack is incredibly moving [t]http://kazasou.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/confession.jpg[/t]
This was pretty convoluted movie to watch. My head still hurts. I loved this movie.
5 centimeter per second The saddest part is that I can relate to it. And also the goddamn train that leads to the realization
Cinema Paradiso is a really sad movie. Also just finished Cowboy Bebop, haven't really cried for a series before but the final episode got me sobbing like a baby.
Dereck has some really sad moments
Still makes me tear up to this day.
Highlander. More specifically, the part where Heather is on her deathbed and asks Connor to light a candle on her birthday every year so he won't forget her.
Don't know if anyone has ever heard of it, but Never Let Me Go.
Aftershock - Chinese movie about an earthquake in China in 1976. I believe you can still watch it on Netflix
For movies, Toy Story 3 and The Green Mile. Hannibal season 2 has one of the most brutally cynical finales ever. Berserk is also high on the list.
