That's hilarious.
Reminds me of the Enigma one.
The Enigma of Amigara Fault was actually written by the same person who made Uzumaki, and is available at the end of Gyo in a bonus chapter sort of thing.

Gyo is a manga where dead things come to life, really. IIRC, first it's fish corpses that get mechanical spider legs, then humans get all bloated and shit, then they get spider legs and shit, then there's a circus devoted to dead things... good read. The ending is okay.
I voted animé, though that cheesy one frame for five seconds while two black bars scroll by just makes me wanna jump out my window whilst pissing and shitting at the same time and smacking into the ground causing a giant shitty crater.

you and me seem to like the same anime but what the fuck is FMA ?
Full Metal Alchemist
Where's the both option? Western animation usually criticises modern culture and traditions, either moderately (like the Simpsons), or harshly (like South Park) or in rare cases, mindlessly (like Family Guy/American Dad/the Cleveland Show). The animation tends to be god awful (though that's mostly kid's shows), and the characters are almost never flesh coloured (usually a pink or yellow is used).
Anime deals with more surreal elements and stays away from hot topics, the animation (not art style, the actual animation) is usually better than western animation, it's more fluid and the colouring is better. But anime has som truely terrible writing and plots that can have Hideo Kojima scratching his head.
Also, both anime and western animation have huge eyes because most of our facial expressions are expressed through our eyes, and mouths are a lot easier to make noticalbe changes in. In the west we see cartoons as aimed almost exclusively at kids, and that's why they tend to suck, in Japan they aim most animated shows to the teen/young adult market because they have expendable income for the shit they shovel.
there might be "plenty" of anime out there, but it's all the same. you can pretend that it's not but you know that i'm right
And guess what, we're both right and wrong at the same time.
70% of both anime, cartoons, TV shows, movies and any piece of media is PURE SHIT. It's called commercial products. Products meant to be mass produced to sell sell sell sell, they don't give a damn about stories, quality or anything. They just whip something out of their ass that they've seen somewhere else, make it upon set guidelines and "rules" on how to make a good product and don't do anything with it except for following it blindly like almost everyone else.
A better term would be good art.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHA.
Both anime and cartoons have good and shitty art. Art isn't bound to details to be good.
anime is just japanese slang for animation
so actually you're all anime fans if you like western animations anyways.
Wow, you're so utterly and completely wrong, I thought you would have learned by now.
Anime is the Japanese word for animation. And in western use it is used to describe eastern animation, and usually very specifically the 2D Japanese animation.
So no, you don't like anime if you like western cartoons. You like anime if you like eastern cartoons. You have to use the western term for cartoons on the eastern continents for it to make sense. You don't use a foreign word as a substitute for another word when it has a different meaning to it.
Um, American animation styles range a lot more than anime. There's a Simpson's style, and Family Guy style and other styles like that used for humor. There are serious styles, like the styles used for the justice league and the old spawn cartoons in the 90's (Fuckin' love Spawn). There's the 80's style like in He-Man and the thundercats. There are also stranger styles, like the south park cutout shapes and the Ed, Edd and Eddy moving lines. There are a lot of cartoon styles that American cartoons use, whereas as Japanese is just... anime/manga. Although, one thing I don't like is when American styles try to copy anime, like the Boondocks, or Teen Titans.
I mean, some animes use more colors than others (Dragon Ball series being colorful and Big O being dark and more serious). Every now and then they more depth in the color, but the styles and shapes have always been similar. Also, anime never moves the plot fast enough, and always has a bunch of stupid giggly scenes.
What the fuck are you talking about?
The variation in styles in eastern and western cartoons are equally big.
As I have previously said multiple times, most anime haters only knows the shittiest titles that are bandwagoned over and over again.
Exactly. Even we think Dragon Ball Z and Lucky Star is pure shit.
