The only "anime" I like is the style in Kill Bill. If they made more stuff like that instead of <--- things like this, they'd be good.
Much as it pains me to, I sort of agree.
Even though I don't watch anime, I think that it has the best art and animation quality. Most Cartoon Network shows nowadays is just simple Flash movie clips that get reused every episode.
There might be "plenty" of cartoons out there, but it's all the same. You can pretend that it isn't, but you know that I'm right.
And guess what, we're both right and wrong at the same time.
70% of both anime, cartoons, TV shows, movies and any piece of media is PURE SHIT. It's called commercial products. Products meant to be mass produced to sell sell sell sell, they don't give a damn about stories, quality or anything. They just whip something out of their ass that they've seen somewhere else, make it upon set guidelines and "rules" on how to make a good product and don't do anything with it except for following it blindly like almost everyone else.

AHAHHAHAHAHAHA.
Both anime and cartoons have good and shitty art. Art isn't bound to details to be good.
Wow, you're so utterly and completely wrong, I thought you would have learned by now.
Anime is the Japanese word for animation. And in western use it is used to describe eastern animation, and usually very specifically the 2D Japanese animation.
So no, you don't like anime if you like western cartoons. You like anime if you like eastern cartoons. You have to use the western term for cartoons on the eastern continents for it to make sense. You don't use a foreign word as a substitute for another word when it has a different meaning to it.
What the fuck are you talking about?
The variation in styles in eastern and western cartoons are equally big.
Anime:
Mind game, Akira, Death Note, Kobato, Durarara, Tokimeki Memorial, Kimi ni Todoke, Ghost in the Shell, Sengoku no Basara, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan, Ponyo, the list goes on.

Cartoons:
Simpsons, Ren and Stimpy, Johnny Bravo, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Toy Story, Bambi, Snow white, Star Trek , Star Wars, Cow and Chicken, Angry Beavers, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, Justice League, the list goes on.
Now, to back up my shit about variation.

I'd go with American.
Both.
Do you always talk out your ass.
Or is this just a special occasion?
I talk from experience.
I talk from experience.
Experience at talking out your ass.
We need a "neither" option, because some people just don't watch that kinda shit anymore. Personally i enjoy the history channel, they have some good shows on now.
Pre dark age american animation beats all, a true craft
Also Bob Sabiston's rotoscoping technique
American animation ftw.
There are only a few animes I've seen and liked. I don't care about the art style, I just hate most of the stories of them.
I greatly enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, though.
Then you've only seen the bad side of anime. Fanservice itself isn't all that bad, but shows filled with it are pretty mediocre.
There are plenty of good shows out there with a decent or good plot, likable characters, animation is another thing.
The fact that you're just generalizing it without any knowledge of it makes your argument dubious.
Show recomendations?

good animes
^Hehe Ponyo...
Ponyo is an animated movie not an animated show!
It's also old skool hand drawn not that dumb computer shiz.
Mindgame is so good.
I grew up with both, I'm not taking sides.
I grew up with both, I'm not taking sides.
Same here. The cartoon network was available in Asia as well back in my days.
I still watched more animes than cartoon when I was a kid, because I simply find anime to have a more appealing plot than cartoon.
Anime is for men who aren't men
Anime is for men who aren't men
:kamina: takes offense to that.
American animation, because most anime stars teenage girls with tits bigger than their heads and is so full of sexual shit to the point where it is distracting and annoying.
[editline]1[/editline]
Who the fuck is rating me dumb? Are you telling me that I'm wrong? I can list examples:
* Season 2 of Code Geass, where they turned one of the leading female characters into the generic overly-sexualized anime chick no one cares about. In almost every scene where she was piloting a mecha, her tits were bouncing up and down faster than the mechas shooting machine guns, and let's not forget how the artist had a thing for "ass-shots."
* The anime film "Paprika," where in one scene, a guy sticks his hand into a woman's vagina, only to have it fade right through her
* Eden of the East... the fucking ending? Middle?
These are just examples from the anime I've seen. Although I did enjoy the aforementioned anime, I did find the oversexualization very annoying. I've tried to watch other animes, but couldn't continue due to all the tits, sexual innuendos, and lack of a plot.
Some anime i've seen is a bit weird like End of Evangelion... It was COOL, but 90% didn't make sense, it was all just weird spazztastic shit which blew my mind, and confused me. But it was COOL.
If I just could've voted for both...
Well my vote went to anime, I've never laughed as much at any else animation.
Also, anime hating is a silly thing.
Both , but more into american.
I like how Anime has a lot of action/adventure series. There aren't too many of those in Western animation any more. Everything is either children's or comedy.
I watch whatever I like. Whether it's western animation or anime doesn't matter to me.
I don't like Anime because every single show has the SAME EXACT art style with those shitty facial expressions, but the art style of the Western style vary from show to show.

Uh, no, anime style varies from huge eyes to normal eyes and there are huge differences between different animation companies.

It seems like your eyes are the ones that need fixing.
