The wildlife in the exclusion zone is amazing. There's probably a couple documentaries about the exclusion zone and it's wildlife.

It looks like it got shot near its hind leg...
It sucks that these people are pretty much forgotten by the rest of the world.
The kid leaning against a window creeped me out. There's really nothing to add or comment.
Does anyone know how many people worked in the plant after the disaster?
Those guys must have been super creeped out by working there.
I'd love to visit Chernobyl and Pripyat some time. It looks like a really interesting place to visit.
When I was doing Physics at school a couple of years ago we were watching a video about how great and safe nuclear power is. That video filmed in the Nuclear Power Plant in Chernobyl and was published in February 1986. Just 2 months before the accident.
I was seriously wondering why we were still learning from this.

I'm pretty damn sure it's bad idea to go to the zero-point and get working again.

Those gasmasks weren't there during the Disaster. Every asshole and their Grandmother thinks they were issuing out gasmasks to protect them from the radiation and shit. Doesn't work that way because gasmasks are useless against radiation.
The story behind these pictures are really dull. Years after everyone had left Pripyat and it was long abandoned people would sneak in and go into the basements of schools, community centers, hospitals etc. where they had crates full of gasmasks stored still unopened (this was during the cold war mind you)
So they'd haul the crate upstairs, break them open and take out the gasmasks, crack open the filters and take out a little silver ring that they'd than sell for scrap. You'll see the broken crates in most of the pictures and notice that the filters are all broken or missing. As eerie as the pictures are, the story isn't that exciting.

Neat.
My favorite picture from that set. Very cool about how long he's been there at the reactor.

Actually one of the greatest feelings in the world. I always do it after going to the sauna during the winter. The snow is cold you don't feel until a few seconds afterwards and its such a refreshing and awesome feeling.

My father did something similar when he was stationed in Antarctica, but the air was so dry down there it didn't really make a difference.
