Don't even try, just stop posting. (User was banned for this post ("ass" - garry))
I have made many things, I'm actually very tallented, for instance, i made this shaker table, http://gyazo.com/a9c9d45821091d3e1cd864a1b3eab800.png (Not the exact one i made but its almost the same, mine had a better pedestal design, will take pics when i go to my mothers house!
I doubt a 14 year old in probably grade 8 can make a better table than one made by professionals and costs like $1,000 [editline]26th April 2011[/editline] and use the god damn forum emotes, not shit like :D, ^_^, :P
Good luck! And have fun! I've always loved wood working. What wood are you thinking of using?
I'm actually a freshman.. -_- Ill take a picture of it, and ill even prove to you (by taking a pic of me in my schoos woodshop) that i have access to the tools to do it.. idk how to prove it beyond that.. EDIT: On my shaker table, i used scraped oak and a little mahogany that i glued together and then sanded down and put a clear cover over it, then for my pedestal i used a white oak. For this table im thinking of using finished plywood since i don't have a big budget, and then ill put a plastic overlay over it... Then again, im not sure what i can afford as the economy sucks and i have about 120 dollars to my name ^_^
-snip- off topic, OP show desk
I don't think a 14 year old is in High School, or do you go to a secondary? [editline]26th April 2011[/editline] still grade 8 though
He's turning 15 soon. I believe the term for what you forgot to do is "read".

[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
He's turning 15 soon. I believe the term for what you forgot to do is "read".
Thanks for explaining to the retard that you can be 14 and be a freshman, there are actually 13 year old (turning 14) in my grade... EDIT: I am thinking now of using (Sandeply Hardwood Plywood) for the top and then a lower grade plywood for the bottom, but ill sand it down with about 120 grit sandpaper and that should make it fell smooth if you were to rub your legs up against it :D Then im thinking of getting 2 2x4's to use as leg's until my brother makes the metal legs, which might take awhile since hes fixing his car atm...
-snip- even more off topic, still show desk
Haha furniture from Walmart. And unless you skipped like 2 grades your not in grade 10, or are you grade 7. [editline]26th April 2011[/editline] I'm Canadian we don't use your weird Amuricun school system.
When the hell did i say i was in grade 7? Here is how our grading system goes.. -- Elementary School -- kindergarden (usally age 5) grade 1 (age 5-6 depending when your b-day is) grade 2 grade 3 -- Middle/ School-- Grade 4 Grade 5 SOMETIMES Grade 6 -- Junior Highschool -- SOMETIMES Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 -- High School -- Grade 9 - Freshman Grade 10 - Sophomore Grade 11 - Junior Grade 12 - Senior Also, please spell "American" correctly... I hope your not THAT dumb...
-snip- too much off topic, op show desk or kill self
Yea so it will be more like mine, get used to it, they are making us go to school from 7:30am - 3:30am next year.. another hour added on, that means i won't get home until 5pm because i have an hour and 1/2 bus ride home, and an hour and 15 minute bus ride there.. so i still have to get up at fucking 5:30am every day.. not fun.. No more time for woodworking :(
-snip- who cares
Why did you even post that you're 14, nobody cares Good luck with this desk, you're going to need it. And instead of posting pics of the tools, post pics of the table you apparently made.
I haven't started the table, getting supplies this afternoon (1:14am atm) and the other table is at my mothers house, which im not at currently.. :) [editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
School starts for me at 8:30AM - to like 3:20 PM
Lucky.. what grade are you in?
-snip-
Lol, come to the USA. As long as you stay out of the city's and stay in the small towns, mostly you will get great education, that has exceptions like Alabama and stuff.. shit ass education..
-snip- show table
Make a thread about Hurr durr education systems. Good luck on this desk. I look forward to seeing progress. Also, don't use emotes like that, we have emotes here that fit and don't make your text look ugly. http://www.facepunch.com/misc.php Don't overuse those either.
I made myself one Fuck Really, I always assemble them, the ones that piss me off are the ones where you have to hammer the holes.

wdgaf Also we have a d.i.y section.
Yea, we are in it -.-
Yes we are.
You put "^_^" and actually went and put your age in the title of the thread Its almost as if you were deliberately trying to lose any shred of credibility!
Please apply your face liberally to the desk when finished. With gusto.
I have faith in FatPanda being able to do this because from the pictures it's actually a rather simple design. Also I don't know much about the United States, but do students do mandatory woodwork? Students in Australia do mandatory woodwork for 2 years (years 7 and 8) and so I know a bit of stuff here and there. A 14 year old should be able to do this.
You guys are lucky. Our school system is Elementary (K-7) and then High School (8-12). Also, the kid is just making a table, calm down. Young people can make high quality things too.
