It must be because the URL ends in .swf, so CloudFlare thinks it's a static file and caches it.
That's pretty stupid.
Fixed it, by the way.
It still says someone else for me.
why has firefox changed my font on both facepunch and facebook?

Because you're following the old link with .swf at the end.
I doubt anyone important will ever respond to - let alone act upon - this suggestion, but I'd like to request that people on my ignore list become incapable of seeing my posts as well. Unless they're a moderator, in which case they'd be impossible to ignore anyway (which is something else I wish would change, because there are a couple moderators who're fucking obnoxious & I'd really like to Ignore).

You'll never be able to ignore a moderator.
Making someone else unable to see your posts is also a terrible idea. It's not good to let a user decide who can read their stuff, unless they post in a restricted forum, in which case it's just a smaller group of people that are able to read it.

A terrible idea, really? Compared to the possible problems it might cause, this would be hugely worth the reduction in conflict if two (relatively unimportant) users could mostly disappear from each other's forum radars if one began to hate the other enough to add him/her to an Ignore List.
and I never really thought I'd be able to put moderators on my ignore list, but I sure would like to. (Not because of you, by the way.) ;)
The only way someone's posts will disappear from the forum is if they're put on global ignore.
Or they're all deleted.
Or they're all deleted.
nah, they still aren't gone
nah, they still aren't gone
From a regular user's viewpoint.

Well, obviously that's the way things work now. Dropping a folded note into a suggestion box doesn't mean "Hey don't things work this way right now? What's going on?", it means "Hey, maybe things would work better if things worked this way." Just food for thought.
Also, the dual-ignore thing works pretty damn well on Facebook.
PS I know Facebook isn't Facepunch, but they are largely the same - except for the median age.

Was the ability to permanently delete posts removed from normal mod privileges? That's a bummer.

No, we still have it.
No, we still have it.
Ahh, that's very good. :D
What does it take now for a post to be permanently deleted vs. only temporarily deleting it?

Clicking one or another option.
Clicking one or another option.
So the content of the post has nothing to do with it? You wouldn't permanently delete a post containing child porn if your pointer happened to be over the "Temporary Delete" button?

We'd keep a post like that for evidence or something, I suppose.

I see, that makes sense. So do you have a specific moderator who interfaces with the police now that hezzy isn't around any more? or have there even been any situations in which police action seemed necessary in the relatively brief time since his departure from administrating the forums?

Fuck if I know.

Sorry for asking too many questions, thanks for answering so many of them.
What kind of rules do moderators have to go by? Are there rules, guidelines or just a fuck all attitude to mod discretion?

There's a lot of "red tape" as it were for doing things, but we're also allowed freedom.
It all comes down to common sense and hoping garry doesn't revert your decision.
Do we still gold girl members on a whim???
Do we still gold girl members on a whim???
If we do, my friend would be a gold member.
is she hot?
If we do, my friend would be a gold member.
You have a girl friend who posts on FacePunch? Is she pretty? Is she nice? Does she like to play WoW as much as I do? What's her name? What's her Number? Do you think she would want to Go Out With Me? Is she nice? Sorry I'm asking so many questions again I'm just so nervous. Do you think She's reading this right now? My hands are shaking, I've never experienced anything like this before in my life. Oh my god.
is she hot?
I was going to post her picture, then I came to my senses and realized where I am.
In what situations do you think we'd need to consult with police?
Hezzy was pretty much just being a busy body whenever he reported people to the police.

Seems like you'd want to bring them into it for something like spreading (real) child pornography, or seriously talking about suicide or killing another person if it seems legitimate.
Oddly similar to the "contacting the police" rules a psychologist would follow, actually.
