One day we will soon be able to watch these videos in 3D

Garry's reflection in the fucking camera.
NOW IN HD
So... anyone know a script that will change them back? Much appreciated. :v:

Do you guys purposefully never like Garry's forum changes?

I'm in the music section, lots of youtube videos like you wouldn't believe. Slows the browser down, and won't load on a mobile device either. It's only my PC that is too slow to load 20 youtube videos.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I know that you're a music regular.
Perhaps an option in the user options panel?

I wasn't talking about computer not being able to handle it but about monitors that are too small for it. On 1280x1024 it looks horrible. Maybe you could just leave media tags for HD vids?

When the HD tags open they're too big for your monitor? What's the point? Get a bigger monitor.
How come mods are not as strict these days? Does it have anything to do with facepunch becoming bigger or a company?
[QUOTE=garry;30914011]When the HD tags open they're too big for your monitor? What's the point? Get a bigger monitor.[/QUOTE]
Not everyone has huge monitors, and I'm on a laptop so getting a bigger monitor isn't a solution.

That new change you've made seconds ago was amazing and now I love you forever. Page doesn't stretch out any more and it does not look like shit. Thanks, man.
[QUOTE=Dubious George;30913215]Do you guys purposefully never like Garry's forum changes?[/QUOTE]
Yes, because they're always shit changes.
If HD tags are too big just press the fullscreen button on them. Makes it fit your window.
It was exactly the same way before if you pressed the tags. And if you're not watching them, scroll past

Yeah, but now we were kinda forced to have our page stretched. Right?
[QUOTE=Mr MP;30914153]Yeah, but now we were kinda forced to have our page stretched. Right?[/QUOTE]
It's not like it's so big that skipping to the end and scrolling up is easier. Just scroll past it.
And it's not like every video is going to be the size of the HD tagged ones
[QUOTE=Mr MP;30914153]Yeah, but now we were kinda forced to have our page stretched. Right?[/QUOTE]
Not anymore, looks like it auto adjusts.
I get a black screen whenever I fullscreen a video from media tags (sounds still continue), it works fine from youtube's page.
After pressing escape to close the fullscreen it crashes my [url=http://i.imgur.com/9ej6W.jpg]flash plugin[/url]

Too bad i can't get a bigger monitor when i'm at my laptop, or my netbook v:v:v
and it lags like fuck when scrolling past a hd video not in media tags
[QUOTE=garry;30912095]Ok, quoted videos are smaller, HD videos are inline and bigger. If your computer can't handle embedded youtube videos you're a moron.[/QUOTE]
Well it's not my fault that my netbook from 2008 can't handle them.
[QUOTE=Jelly;30914095]Not everyone has huge monitors, and I'm on a laptop so getting a bigger monitor isn't a solution.[/QUOTE]
Agreed, my laptop that runs ubuntu isn't very big and it's getting clusterfucked with this update.
Can you at least put 2 viewing methods either from the old clicking the link and it opening up and the modern way? It'd fix this debacle.

What is the smart people solution to this then?
Sorry, I'm not going to pander to you if your PC can't handle webpages with embedded videos.
i think pc's aren't the problem, as people said: mobile devices.
i don't browse facepunch on a mobile device but i guess you can see their problem.

The question is: Does Garry purposefully do things we won't like?
(I would put in an emote to hint that I'm mucking about, but he removed them all)
The video viewer thing looks ok to me, it was fine as it was, but it's still ok.
Some of the recent changes just seem unnecessary. They don't really make it worse, but they don't improve anything either. They just seem like pointless changes for the sake of changing something.
There have been some good improvements lately: highlights, chat, archive, mod tipping, flags/OS icons...
But there have also been some strange changes that have come out of nowhere: reduction of GM requirement, removal of image media tags, removal of most of the emotes, today's video viewer change. They range from bad to meh.
People like things to stay the same. If something does change, they prefer it if there is an obvious reason for the change.
Aren't there [url=http://www.facepunch.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#videocode][noparse][video][/video][/noparse] tags[/url] native to vBulletin that you can just enable? This gives the functionality without too much hassle, and without destroying the experience on mobile browsers.

Well, You chose that laptop, if your laptop screen is too small, then it is your own fault. I took screen size into account when buying this laptop, and I have no issues with those videos at all, I think they look so much better now.
[QUOTE=Monty P. Moneybags;30915043]Blah blah big expensive laptop blah blah fancy screen[/QUOTE]
Good for you but the rest of us are stuck with smaller laptops for various reasons, and it would not take too long to make the videos fit the screen.
I do not see the issue at all here, I'm gonna go on my tablet to see how bad the problem is.
