so you prefer biological experiments gone haywire and all that nonsense.
like radiation turning fauna into horribly mutated and dangerous life forms in a matter of years.
i dunno, what you say seems contradictory because most things in horror movies simply don't exist, and many more things that happen in horror movies simply aren't possible.
you need some kind of suspension of disbelief to really engage in horror movies. if you are as level headed as you think you are.
i don't think that just because something is debunked doesn't mean it has lost its value in story telling. i think there's just a lack of quality religious based horror.
also you can't say the exorcist wasn't at least a tiny bit scary.
Nonsense? Biological experiments compared to a demon taking control of people seem pretty fucking real to me.
The whole [sp]demon stuff ruined the movies. It'd be a lot better if the concept was about an outbreak, not a demon causing it. But oh well.[/sp]

Me too, I mean [sp]the whole virus outbreak thing has been done a lot, but I think it fits the whole feeling of being quarantined inside a building better. The demon stuff just seemed silly and ridiculous to me so I am pretending REC2 doesn't count when I watch the first. Some people love the whole religion angle though, each to their own I guess.[/sp]

[sp]The demon thing was revealed in the first though? The aspect has never not been there.[/sp]
I was honestly let down with this one. The style change threw everything off. Why would you go with the hand-held camera thing for a while and then just switch to traditional cinematography? That just doesn't make sense to me and really took me out of the movie.
My favorite thing about the first two films was how tense and exciting things were when the characters saw the zombies (I'm going to call them zombies. I'm sorry if that's inaccurate.) But in this movie I felt like it was more like "hell zombies and shit" and it was just cheesy to me.
There really just wasn't anything interesting to me in this movie except maybe the love story, I kind of got into that. Overall, this movie was fun, but other than that it just didn't do much for me.

As far as I remember it was hinted but not explicitly stated. If it was I must have missed it. [sp] I guess I just find the horror of being trapped inside a building by the humans outside while trying to survive a zombie outbreak was creepy enough. The religion thing just pushed my suspension of disbelief too far. Personal taste. [/sp]

I honestly felt it would have been better as a stand alone film rather than part of the REC series. The style and atmosphere was completely different and felt out of place if you ask me. I am no fan of REC 2 but at least it fit with the first in the way it was made.
