Rad looking bass, not sure on 8 strings though, always seemed overkill, four or five's plenty
It's not a bass.
Look at this video. At 6:20 he hits a couple of notes in a weird way. But they don't quite sound like pinch harmonics. Or are they? Any ideas?
He just played notes from the high E string and then some low notes on top. Like [tab] E|---12-----13-------14---------| B|--------------------------------| G|-------9--------10-------11---| D|--------------------------------| A|--------------------------------| E|--------------------------------|[/tab]
Rad looking bass, not sure on 8 strings though, always seemed overkill, four or five's plenty
C'mon Dave! That was pretty embarassing.
Ibanez RG. You should buy it if you want it. It's not bad.
Yeah, I can ghet it for like 70% off at the local store. Not sure though, any of you guys had any experience with it? [editline]02:22PM[/editline] And I know it's in the RG series, but I want to know exactly what guitar it is. [editline]02:33PM[/editline] It seems it is an RG470
It's an 8 string guitar, not a bass. It's considerably cheaper than any other 8 string guitars also, because the 8 string Ibanez is $1800, while that guitar is only about $700.
I too thought it was a bass :saddowns: [editline]05:26PM[/editline] Got a Laney LX65R a few days ago for R3000 (some $350 USD) and it's great.
I never grasped the concept of more-than-6-string guitars. What advantages do they give? The neck seems wide and uncomfortable IMO
You can play a lot heavier stuff on the lower string, also the neck isn't that wide, it's pretty comfortable.
Does it have a Floyd Rose on it? If it does, buy buy buy. But if not, it's cool too, nice practice guitar.
Yeah, it has a FL. I think I'm gonna buy it. It IS purple after all.
I took a cigar box and put an amp inside with some speakers last summer:
Rad looking bass, not sure on 8 strings though, always seemed overkill, four or five's plenty
DAT GUITAR
I'm going to get my money sometime later in the year, like september or something, I can't wait. I'm scared that the store I'm going to get it from will stop selling it or run out or something. I always get nervous like that.
i damaged a tendon in my left wrist so i can hardly move my hand, wrist or fingers, so i can't play guitar for a while bummer.
woo, my hand works enough to play guitar now. still can't do much with it since i can't move my fingers or wrist fast or bend my wrist properly
Nice work... What amp, exactly?
It was a Fender Mini-Tone Master. Roughly $30-$45 new.
Yeah, it has a FL. I think I'm gonna buy it. It IS purple after all.
Funny I have a purple ibanez with a FL. I don't think they're RGs. A guitar expert said mine doesn't sell anymore and goes for like $800..
Personally I've always loved Ibanez guitars, Although recently mine was stolen. Now I have an LTD H-100 with custom parts on it. A friend of mine builds guitars, so he threw one together for me. It's pretty sick.
Frusciante amirite?
Fender has a line of American guitars that are sold like that.
Well, I should be getting a new guitar soon, and I'm thinking about getting this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/ESP-LTD-F-2E-Electric-Guitar-515734-i1386569.gc What do you guys think? It looks pretty good, from what I can tell.
Ok, I'm getting the Jackson SL2H Soloist in a Shattered glass finish. Now to begin the marathon of not changing my mind.
I'm getting the exact same guitar, but in transparent black. Expensive as hell, but one hell of an awesome guitar.

Even my B.C. Rich Warlock bass is more comfy to play. Otherwise, it's a pretty good guitar and yes, it looks fucking amazing.
Fender has a line of American guitars that are sold like that.
Fender roadworn series, that is.
Fender roadworn series, that is.
Yup saw them too in my guitar shop, they look pretty rad actually.
Yes, if I had the money I'd get that strat.
Ibanez GRGM21GB. Should I? [editline]01:33PM[/editline] No I shouldn't. Can anyone recommend me a good electric guitar good for all music types, like Pink Floyd and stuff, but it can also play some hard stuff like Metallica, Iron Maiden, basically some Rock, Metal. I also need a recommendation for a cheap amp, the guitar has to be in the 150€ area.

I think in the new strats the pickup combinations work like humbuckers, so rather go for a S-S-S strat, rather than H-S-S, less noise will not compensate for that sound of a SC bridge pickup. Strats are very versatile. I can recommend you: Yamaha Pacifica Squier Stratocaster (you have to play them in the shop, their quality is very variable) go for AT LEAST an Affinity. Bullets are shitty. Greg Bennett Malibu (I got a Greg Bennett TR4, and it's an awesome guitar. They all come with Grover tuners and offer a great q/p ratio) The Pacifica is the best of the pack I guess. MIM Strats are a bit out of your price range, but I played one and they're great. Basically, get a cheap guitar and a decent amp. Don't overdo with the cheap guitar though, but the amp has got more to say in terms of sound quality
Looks nice, but I'm a bit sceptical about the Floyd Rose.
As am I, because I hear they're a bitch to tune or to change tunings, but I suppose I'll live.
