I've been eyeing some 7-strings. Currently the only one I can find in my price range (preferably under $400) is the Schecter Omen-7 (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Schecter-Omen-7-7-String-Electric-Guitar-513036-i1319225.gc) which I'll be trying out at guitar center tomorrow. Honestly it looks sick to me but I would be even more pleased with a nice acoustic 7er; but all the ones i've found are very expensive and they seem to be esoteric, so if anyone could recommend me a nice acoustic one, I would appreciate it!
My Les Paul: ! My acoustic isn't included here, ! But here's a pic taken with a videocam: !
I bought the RG 270, here's me playing it: It's awesome, keeps the tune amazingly well, is incredibly smooth to play and it sounds pretty nice too. There's this one issue with it though, when I play the third fret on the high E string it buzzes a lot and sometimes it even sounds like the fourth fret. Anyone knows why this happens?
what up (white) rasta

It's like Uncle Fester meets John Lennon
fu and ur rich parents
I paid for half of all of mine, if not all (cept my Epiphone and my Sunburst Les Paul, it was a birthday gift but I paid for like $400 of it). I had a job for over a year and netted like $3.5k and little of it was spent outside of guitars.
bleh martins are too much for me so i had to settle with an epiphone acoustic
bleh martins are too much for me so i had to settle with an epiphone acoustic
I'll sell you mine for $700
I'll sell you mine for $700
That's a pretty good deal if I had 700 I'd take it
That's a pretty good deal if I had 700 I'd take it
It's rosewood back and sides, has one ding on it otherwise it's perfect. I believe it's like late 1980's or early 90's. I want to sell it for drums because the strings are too hard to push down :(
I'm going for a new amp soon, anyone had any experience with an orange crush 30R? Or can anyone reccomend a good amp under 250?
So after i've mastered major chords, what should i move onto? Probably minor chords?
Try playing songs, it's a useful skill to ppick up, and practice chords seperatly, i'm starting to realise how good it would be if i done that, all i know is powerchords.
So after i've mastered major chords, what should i move onto? Probably minor chords?
Definitely. Minor chords are used just as much as major ones.
Try playing songs, it's a useful skill to ppick up, and practice chords seperatly, i'm starting to realise how good it would be if i done that, all i know is powerchords.
Hahaha, ditto, everything I listen to and learn to play is comprised of probably 80% power chords. But, hey, after 4 or 5 months of playing I can pound out sequences of power chords like a motherfucker. :)
True dat homeslice. Only reason i learned to play guitar this fast was i straight away forced myself to learn Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
If any of you are looking to improve the speed of your downpicking, you should try play the intro to Waking the Demon by Bullet For My Valentine. The intro (and most of the rythm, seeing as the intro is played almost throughout the song) is all downpicked, and it's downpicked fast. http://www.freewebs.com/musicman1066/ Just go to the tabs section and get the tab... Guitar Pro only though :/

Anybody know any online stores that sell cheap 7 strings. Specifically, I'm looking for one with 24 frets and a whammy.
Anybody know any online stores that sell cheap 7 strings. Specifically, I'm looking for one with 24 frets and a whammy.
Petrucci
Petrucci
Lol tru. I found a shecter C7FR. One is $999 on musicians friend, then theres one thats like $549 at zzsounds
What's a good Mesa Boogie amp for playing metal?
Lol tru. I found a shecter C7FR. One is $999 on musicians friend, then theres one thats like $549 at zzsounds
Is the 7th string a minor or a bass?
Is the 7th string a minor or a bass?
Well, I do know the 7th string is Tuned to B. Bass is an octave lower than guitar amirite? So I think its minor.
What's a good Mesa Boogie amp for playing metal?
ANY. Probably not the Lonestar though, considering that's what Petrucci uses for cleans. So anything that's not the Lonestar. The Recifier, the 5:50 (only when set to 50W, the 5W version uses Class A power), etc... Oh, and any of the Mk.(#) series, like the Mk. II-C or Mk. IV
Want.
Want.
I love the Iron Cross ESP. That, and Hammet's Superstrat-style guitar with the crossbone inlays, two of my favorites on the market.
I don't like the fact that they're worn. What's the point?
