Does anyone know any bands similar to Protest The Hero, I really like them but I want more!
The Fall Of Troy, Portugal. The Man's first album, Between The Buried And Me, The Devil Wears Prada.
In my opinion, Ibanez GIOs aren't worth owning. They play about as well as low-end RG series but they don't have floating tremelos (However problematic they may be for re-stringing/tuning) or the nut-locking system that most of them have. Plus I don't like the fact that some of them lack a scratchplate or are generic strat-shapes. Plus the default pickups are crap compared to what you get on RGs, on high gain you start to get a lot of feedback which is painful to hear. You might aswell start with a Yamaha Pacifica for 50 quid instead of potentially wasting around 180, and once you're confident that you're going to keep playing guitar for a long time, that's when you purchase something as expensive as you're willing, preferably somewhere above 300 quid.
Just got this sexy beast. I can get classic rock, sludge, grunge, DRONE, lots with it. Best part of my rig by far, now I'm looking for a worthy amp. Also, I would do any thing for these guitars

I'm sick of single coil guitars. They're all i've ever had. lol My next guitar is gonna be a Jackson or something
Does anyone here like Classical Guitar? I love it! It's so relaxing and soothing and it sounds beautiful. And you can do some amazing stuff on your own. Almost like a piano player can:
I'm sick of single coil guitars. I want an Epiphone SG-310 I really wanted a G-400 but I've only just started playing again so I guess I should master my acoustic first
I want an Epiphone SG-310 I really wanted a G-400 but I've only just started playing again so I guess I should master my acoustic first
That was actually my starter guitar It's okay, but I honestly prefer the Ibanez RG line having played some myself. I want to get one to replace it 24 frets, better feel, better pickups...why not?
Should i get a Dinky or a Soloist for my next guitar?
I just figured out that the G-400 is 500 bucks from a store so I'll buy that can anybody recommend some good starter amps
a roland cube does the trick
can anybody recommend some good starter amps
Cheapest one I can recommend is an Orange Crush 10 The clean channel is FUCKING AMAZING, crank up the gain a bit and you get a nice bluesy crunch, gain it to the max and you get a "fuzz" distortion. Not my cup of tea, but I guess some people might like it If you got a few more bucks to spend, get a Roland Cube
Thanks, much appreciated also should I teach myself or get lessons? I have a good understanding of scales and I can read tabs, I just know that there's a wannabe guitarist born every minute so any advice people can offer would be great. also if I do play how long will I need to play before before I realize I suck

:( Doesn't sound like it's worth my $500 considering I'd need to buy a guitar and amp Problem solved

Find inspiration, if you feel playing doesn't give you joy, put it away for a while and return to it later.
Did that I played for a year when I was in year six and 10 years old, and nothing was more boring But now, I know heaps of guitarists and at 16 I think I'd be more persistant but yeah I don;t want to spend shitloads of money on something that I'll just give up Guitar's been something I've contemplated for the last year and the last couple of weeks my mind's been in a state of turmoil over it, problem is I know a lot of shit guitarists and only a couple of good ones that's why I'd prefer getting lessons to teaching myself
ANd you can always play an electric guitar without an amp, I did so for like... 3 months. Good if you haven't the money for guitar and amp at the same time
Yeah good point I mean I'm still in highschool and I'm sure my dad would be happy to help me along the way, buying an amp or something it's just something that I'd like to do but I'm really a lazy person so I'm not sure if it's worth all the trouble

I always considered myself lazy, but I stuck to the guitar, and it's a very enjoyable and not-so-useless way of spending my free time [editline]04:19PM[/editline] Who rated me disagree, sure it's quiet, but sufficent for me at least. Still play "dry" from time to time. Makes every single mistake very noticeable
Anyone who thinks that learning an instrument will get them the chix is an idoit My friend who plays bass says to me "People who play bass are cooler" ??? He's not too smart No I'd learn guitar so that I can play my favourite music as loud as possible and so I could have a hobby
:( Doesn't sound like it's worth my $500 considering I'd need to buy a guitar and amp Problem solved
Perseverance is all you need man, and if you can understand scales your ahead of me and i've been playing for bout half a year. And trust me are alot of "god i fucking suck, i should just pack this in" moments, and then you manage to get that riff thats been slaying you for weeks.
Thanks man, that's really encouraging thank you
