This thread makes me cum, I want a 7str RIGHT NAO!
I got my 7 string at Music Go Round for $130
I think I'll just stick with my Strat for a while.

Its and ESP JH-600
My guitar and for an amp I have a shitty Marshall MG 15 watt
[editline]08:19PM[/editline]
I like to consider it my own signature guitar because the inlays are H's and my last name starts with and H.
I wrote KGM on my guitar with a marker to make it my own signature Strat.
Could be the pickups, or the outlet you're plugged into might not be grounded properly.
Hum, so how do i ground the outlet? The problem is that it's a les paul model. So it's tight. Thanks :)
I just got one of these.
Epiphone ES335 Sheraton II:

It's beautiful.
I've been interested in a semi acoustic, what's their feel/sound like? Are they as nice to strum as an (steel string) acoustic?
Am I the only one here to be truly happy with their guitar? I've had mine like 3/4 years and I still love this shit out of it and think it's better than all other guitars, and think that it sounds the best...
Am I the only one that doesn't want a new guitar?
(not my pic)

Same here, but I just need like an extra string to properly play what I want to, I don't want to get another 6stringer, eventually just some effects but no other guitar.

What are you planning to play with a seven?

Nevermore/Meshuggah stuff, it sounds so shitty on my guitar, the strings and the scale can't handle it.
Oh and some Cannibal Corpse, it's good on my guitar but I hate having to tune up and down all the time my mood and tastes change.

Well I like my guitar, and for a first electric I wouldn't have chosen any other (it's a Squier Fat Strat Standard, good all-rounder) but the fact is Paul Reed Smith guitars exist.
By the way, I've had this Squier for about 4-5 years, and you really do begin to want something different/better after having just one electric for that long, especially considering it's more of a starter guitar than anything.

The thickness of the strings plays a really big role in the overall sound.
I had 9 - 56 gauge strings or something and it sounded ok. When I changed my strings to 10 - 62 gauge, it sounded godly. It was a huge difference.
So first thing you do, buy heavier strings.

I second this, I recently upgraded to 10. Fucking brilliant it is.
I did, I'm using 10s. Awesome sound.
I got .009-.046 D'Addario Nickel Wound, next time I'm getting Pro Steels
I like my strings rather thin, I do lots of bends so it helps to have em more... flexible
9s feel like rubber bands, I like to use 10s in standard tuning.
Skull Strings are awesome for 7-string guitars.
What is with people's obsession with pointy guitars? Especially the ones with stupid finishes like blood splatter or flames? It simply looks pretentious and just plain stupid. I'm not trying to flame or troll, I just want someone to explain to me what it is you like about them, and the answer "BECAUSE THEIR KICKASSSS LOLOLLL" will not suffice.
Ever heard of the word 'opinion'?
So i'm gonna find out why the hell my guitar is bzzing so fucking loud. Maybe it's the outlet, or i'll have to change humbuckers.
Got any tips by the way, how to check that my outlet is grounded? maybe a lose cable or something

Could be.
It could also be just feedback. put the amp further from the guitar and see what happens.
Usually happens if you're using heavy distortion.

If it's feedback, face away from the amp when you play.
That eliminates a good chunk of feedback.

this might do the trick, thanks.
the buzz is probably a bad ground or something (shitty wiring (fuck i dont know))
If you're looking to stop your guitar from feedbacking, chances are that it's coming from the strings. However, feedback can also come from the pickup actually vibrating within the body, because its resonating from the amp speakers. I've seen a lot of deans put electrical tape on the neck pickup to stop this. I really dont know if this is a good solution (i doubt it)

that guitar looks strange, it's not wide enough for how long it is
Does anyone have an Ibanez Iceman or am I the only one?

I want one.
I've got a cheapo yamaha EG 112c strat replica. It gets the job done, though, I'm still a beginner. Not my picture.

My dream guitar would be a black or white Les Paul. Or a Roland G-707.
